Has anyone confirmed this to be usable on the wildfire. I know previous angry birds versions have been laggy even with OC. (At least from my experience)

It's usable on the wf but it is a bit laggy, more or less like the previous versions

Lags a lot but probably because I'm on miui. Oc 729 and it lags pretty much as much as the previous.
Have you tried the old trick of "turning all data off? I.e airplane mode. When I used to play games on my wildfire, angrybirds was one of my favs and o/c with the data off gave me a very good experience and almost no lag at all.
P.s I might just have to download this now lol.
MANCHESTER together UNITED forever
working on my rooted wildfire. (CM7)
A bit laggy though, still playable
need more levels
Actually I've finished the game in two days (note that I'm in the middle of my exams so i wasn't playing all the time )
Its a bit laggy with maximum OC and performance governor
I'll try the data off trick now
I am on CM7 build 14
Sent from my still alive, ICS capable HTC Wildfire.
OMG very cool I liked

Why does angry birds lag on this phone? Is that normal? Oh, and merry christmas everyone!
It is designed for high performance devices. It isn't designed for mdpi devices like our Optimus.
There will come a lite version soon. Same levels but optimized for budget-phones.
i have same problems with many games so not try to play them, uninstall )
The youtube videos i've seen show angry birds running really well, with other games too. Also the 3D benchmarks i've seen show this phone getting about double the performance as a nexus one.
Whats up with that? Maybe the 2.3 fix for the touchscreen problem will make them run well?
But the game isn`t even 3D. Then it must be the physics of the game that is choking the CPU? 600mhz should be enough for that simple game
Yeah, it's the physics that lag the game. It only lags during the initial setup of the objects and after you hit a bunch of stuff (has to recalculate their position.) It's simply a matter CPU power; not much we can do

Also try installing the game on your phone memory. It sped up Angry Birds for me. My memory card is Class 2 so that made it really slow. Phone memory improved it a lot.
It's laging when it's loading. If you would give this game few seconds to load levels and etc, you could play it smoothly.
Angry birds is designed for high class Android devices, not for medium class devices like our Optimus One.
The thing that lags is game physics.
If you want to play it without lag, and score many points in the benchmarks, you can install Megatron ROM. It's has many modifications, that allows Optimus One to go further with perfomance.
Yeah, been thinking about flashing megatron and some overclocking, that should do the trick
This all seems strange since my 2G ipod touch (400 mhz) runs it perfect.
If you will not touch display during play it will be really smooth.
Its know problem with 100% load if you touch display. This problem occurs on more devices with Android OS, but some times it's not so big problem like on OO. Google promised that in Android 2.3 Gingerbread most problems with touchscreen was optimized.

I tried the lite beta version. It is crashing on intial screen. Hoping they come out with a sstable version very soon.
I have set my CPU speed to 768 mhz and i can play AB nearly good. Its laggin for a few second at the beginning of a level but than i can play without lags.
I have enabled JIT and HA too.
Thats bull****.
Angry birds runs on my iPodTouch 2G (533mhz) extremely smooth only the Menu lags on it.
On my Optimus One the Menu is VERY smooth no lag at all but playing it laggs ONLY when touching the Screen (shooting a bird) or when it crushes into the wood/stones etc.. ingame.
To me it looks like a Performance Bug in the LG ROM. Also
on my damn iPod Touch 2G, NFS Undercover works very well.
Didnt tried it yet on my Optimus One I also use the stock Firmware.
I compare the Optimus One with my iPod Touch 2G because they are quite similar.
Same resolution nearly the same Processor speed. But of course the iPodTouch 2G is weaker.
On the Hardware side the Optimus One should play all games fairly well. On my ****ty iPod I even played GTA Chinatown Wars.
I hope 2.3 Gingerbread will fix that!!
Angry Birds lags especially in the later levels
levels 1 and the more simpler levels are fast but levels such as 1-21 lags cuz there's a lot of blocks and things to position.
But, does anyone know why an Ipod touch 2g with even a lower clocked processor is faster and smoother than our Optimuses?
Mine does lag, but it isn't frequent. Not really a major annoyance for me. Just try killing some background apps you're using (like facebook, but for some reason it respawns).

Might be because apps on the ipod/iphone only have to be optimized for a few different CPU's but mostly the same hardware, with android, there's a wide range of devices with different CPU speeds, different graphics chipsets, different ROMs, so it's hard to get it optimized unlike on the iPod/iPhone

I also have a 2G ipod touch and these are my thoughts exactly! I don't have my Optimus T yet, it's waiting at the post office for me back at home, but i'm eagerly awaiting gingerbread too!
yah that's true
im annoyed at the lag though
So I downloaded Angry Birds, one of the first apps any android used would download.
Now that I've reached some of the more complex levels, it looks like the P500 cannot keep up with the larger number of falling objects, and the game ends up stuttering/framing.
Is this normal? I had read that the P500 can play the game with ease.
I'm on the stock 2.2.1 ROM.
You could try and enable hardware acceleration. You might get a slightly reduced battery life, but angry birds might run smoother..
With stock ROM, it is normal. You can only experience better performance with a custom ROM with hardware acceleration enabled, a bit of CPU overclocking and a kernel that minimizes the touchscreen lag bug.
In my particular case, even with all these "goodies" I can't really enjoy the game: the stuttering is not completely gone and makes ending the level with 3 stars very difficult. But it's a lot better than what you experience right now with stock ROM.
There's a trick to that, even without overclocking, custom ROMs and kernels, etc.
When a laggy level begins, wait for the lag to stop. There's a lot of physics going on when you start a level since it has to reposition the blocks and stuff. Once they're not moving (no more physics stuff), the lag stops. Then you play the game. Just wait for a while and it'll be smooth. Trust me on this
^I've also done that, and it works pretty well.
But on some of the really complex stages in the latter parts of the game, even using this trick in conjunction with the void ROM and hardware acceleration doesn't help. We're pretty much running into the limits of the hardware, and there isn't really anything we can do about it. That said, I'd love it if I were wrong.
Yeah, kpbotbot, done that too. The game kinda demands it, but it's not enough. The amount of time that gets wasted waiting for things to settle and game to move fluid ruins the entire experience.
I know. I recently uninstalled the game Last level I was on was the one with the boomerang-ish birds.
Relevant note: A PC version of Angry Birds was out last month. No Linux version, but WINE runs it pretty well
I am actually enjoying Angry Birds with void + hardware acceleration + touchscreen fix. If you have a Class 2 memory card, Angry Birds may have installed to you SD card directly and the card's speed may be slowing the game down. Move it to the internal memory.
Also, wait until after the initial lag to play. This matters a lot since not waiting causes my phone to freeze up.
HW doesn't really do much in-game . Believe me on this one . You're better off just oc-ing your cpu to at least 768 and also try to have as much free memory as possible
Cheers.
Yeah, just like some people said and it sounds like were asking too much, but just try to be patient and wait til the game loads all the physics then the lag might be gone. Sometimes i move forwards/backwards a few times then it disapears, or even calling the menu once and then getting back.
try mik's kernel
Or wait.for the lite version.
i've noticed a bit of lag too, being patience definitely helps.
Whats this lite version all about? any changelog available?
I don't think it is the fault of the hardware. My old iPhone 3G played angry birds no problem, but generally it was a lot slower than my O1.
Hey guys
Do any of you experience lag/sluggish performance in games ? I recently got my Titan and I only had a chance to try angry birds and it wasn't at all smooth.
I disabled the SRS sound but it didn't help.
Any ideas ?
EDIT: Well,it's not laggy TBH,but not as smooth as my previous iPhone 4 which I think is because of the GPU.
I know the iPhone 4's GPU is stronger but shouldn't games like Angry birds run maybe a little more smoothly ?
Try closin some apps or redownloading the apl
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
I closed all apps and tested but it didn't change anything.
Will re-download it but I don't think that's going to make any changes either.
I just downloaded the game and played for about 10 min and it ran smooth here. I also tried hydro thunder which seems like a more gpu intensive game and no probs. can u download hydro thunder and see if you notice any problems?
Will do.
However, I tested NFS and it ran butter smooth.
Ok,tested Hydro and it worked perfectly. The graphics were just amazing !
Currently,Angry birds and Fruit ninja aren't that smooth, they aren't lagy but I tested Angry birds on a symbian device(Nokia C7) and it worked flawlessly.
And I remember that when I first played angry birds/fruit ninja on the iPad,they both performed pretty much like Titan(not so smooth) but after updates, they both worked great.
So I guess,it's software issue,thoughts ?
Ok so tried doodle jump too and it ran great. Maybe a tad slower than the iOS version but it was barely notable.
Did you try disabling the sound enhancer "fix"?

Yes I did
10char
I also tried Plant vs zombies and it ran very smoothly
Aren't we just talking about the 30fps cap? I think that's all it is. They need to re-release at 60fps, though I don't know if first-gen devices can handle that though it's just a side scroller, not a big deal. And I'm sure 2nd gen devices can.
Maybe but how come iPad has the same issue at first ? Did it have 30 fps cap and then when they updated the game, they removed it ?
Hi guys, i just wanted to share with you all who were disapointed for Minecraft not getting ARMv6 version, that i got another solution!

Features already implemented:
Endless world in all directions, even up and down
Super fast, works well even on arm6 phones
floating islands
Interconnected cave system that extends for kilometers
Beautiful water
Colored lights
Day/night cycle
Snow up in the mountains
Digging and placing blocks
Features in the pipeline:
Monsters
Game saving and loading
Hell, dig deep and you can find hell
Leveling and skills
World sharing so you can upload your world to our web site and people can search, vote, comment on and download worlds
Many more (open for ideas).
On my P500 clocked at 806Mhz it runs pretty good on moderate and even max setting but lags sometimes when generating new blocks, but it is totaly playable.

So i was trying out the NDS emulator nds4droid on my note 2, and tried Zelda Spirit Tracks on it. Of course gameplay was bad and so most of the game but then i wondered if there were other any playable games that could be loaded on the emulator with the Note 2.
What about a list of games that work correctly?
Ill start with my two cents
##NOT WORKING##
-Zelda Spirit Tracks (horrible frame rate,SLOW, bad sound)
You test juste this game ? ^^

Well, you'll be amazed to see that a lot of games are working. But only some of them are fast enough to be really played.
Here is what I've tried so far
-Mario Kart DS=>everything working, but definitly too slow to be really playable (maybe 24 fps?)
-Harvest Moon=> 2D game so not too slow, playable
-New super Mario=>everything working, but definitly too slow to be really playable (maybe 24 fps?)
-Nintendogs=>everything working, but definitly too slow to be really playable (maybe 30 fps?)
-Mario&Luigi partners in time=> fully playable, 60fps can be reached just swap the screens to play comfortably. Cheat codes working
-Dr Kawashima's Brain Training=> good speed, but using the S-pen for some of the trainings remains too slow + some gfx glitches
-Cocoto Racer=>=>everything working, but definitly too slow to be really playable (maybe 24 fps?)
-Simpsons game=> fully playable at full speed (60fps can be reached). Sadly the Simpsons' voices are laggy but that's not a real problem
-Mario & Luigi Bowser's Inside Story: strange, it's really way slower than Partners in time, so for me, not really playable
I'm about half wat at Mario&Luigi partners in time now
I'm sure this is common knowledge, but Pokemon Black/White and Black2/White2 run while patched, but run incredibly slow as well. I think the highest in-game framerate i got was 21fps. I haven't tried, but I've heard that the Pokemon Platinum and below games work well enough to play.
Spirit Tracks does run quite choppy, however I will argue that it is playable with a moderate amount of frame-skip.
I got through the first dungeon before I got distracted by something else.
Im happy to report that Okamiden works like a charm!
