I'm currently using HTC Aria the SEA version (which means, not the AT&T version). I was prompted with the 2.2 Froyo update. As I downloaded it and install, at about half of the installation process, my screen gives out an Android Logo with a triangle and a "!" in it. It means that I failed the installation right?
Besides FOTA update, is there anyway for me to update my Aria? I've searched all over the web and all the answers I get is for the AT&T version. I don't think the AT&T update files are compatible to the South East Asia Aria.
I'll appreciate for the help!

Hi,
I finally managed to put a htc hero recovery rom on my HTC Hero (Orange/Mobistar branded). I did this because the latest Orange/Mobistar rom doesn't support the OTA updates.. I frankly don't know why my device is Orange/Mobistar branded, since there is nothing Orange/Mobistar about it, except for the packing box. And the vendor ensured me it was an official unlocked release. Only, the HTC website doesn't share the same idea when I put in my serial number.
I succeeded to upgrade my hero with the generic rom needed for the OTA updates and I finally got the OTA message to update my phone. But when I choose install and the device restarts, I receive the following error:
Code:
RA-hero-1.7.0.1
verifying update package
no signature (216 files)
verification failed
I searched google and this forum, but the only solution I found was to install the orange branded rom, which doesn't support OTA updates, nor android 2.
Anyone knows a solution?
Thanks!
I was happely running Froydvillain till I sent my Hero to HTC for dust behind the display. After 4 weeks wating I received a complete new Hero thanks to HTC. Sounds nice but the rooting gives me headache so far.
On the phone Android 2.1-update1 software number 3.32.405.2 preinstalled.
I first tried to root with Universal Androot. It seems to work, no errors at all according to UniversalAndrood. But as soon as I try to use overclockwidget for example it doesn't worked. Flashrec same story.
So I searched the internet and found out that my software version was hard to root. Then I tried to downgrade to Ruu version 2.73.405.5 (filename: RUU_Hero_HTC_WWE_2.73.405.5_WWE_release_signed_NoDriver.exe) because that version seems easier to root, but then I got a bootloader error during the installation process. Looking something like this:
Error[140] Bootloaderversion fault
The Rom update tool cant update the Android phone.
Get the right Rom update tool and try again.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Hi, there are probably numerous questions similar to mine, but I couldn't find the right thread for me.
I recently unlocked my atrix's bootloader, and tried to update to the gingerbread update. Ultimately, I wanted to flash the Alien rom, but the gingerbread update (not the OTA one), caused my phone to be stuck on the Moto logo, so I flashed the 1.2.6 sbf on my phone.
Now, I'm not sure what I should do to update my phone to gingerbread since I read that if I update directly from 1.2.6, I will hard break my phone. What should I do?
By the way, I have been having troubles with an update to 1.8.3 via sbf. It keeps saying that the phone did not enumerate.
Thanks for all the help!!

I'm surprised you aren't already hardbricked.. Use the OTA updates until 1.8.3 (RSD shouldn't be used at all really) and then re-root and unlock whatever using: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1182871.
If it did not reenumerate, then all you should do is boot back into RSD and see whether that fixes it.

this gives stock 2.3.4 without touching bootloader
I have a UK Three S3. I flashed stock rom and all branding appears to have been removed. My phone will not update OTA or via Keis.
My wife has an unbranded S3 and this updates fine OTA and Keis.
As far as I can tell our phones should be the same.
Why won't mine update OTA and what do I need to do to fix this? I know I can use odin but am getting fed up having to manually download updates.

When you go to: system settings/about device/software update/update
what happens?
go to: system settings/about device
what values do you have for `baseband version`, and what date date do you see in the `kernel version`?
The other day my wifes phone auto updated to XELLA while were in a restaurant. I was still on XELL4 and when I tried to update it said I was already running the latest software. This always happens whenever I try to update this way despite new software being available. It always shows "the latest updates have already been installed".
I have used odin to update to XELLA.
My baseband is I9300XXELLA Kernel date is Sat Dec 22.
Anyone any idea?
So when this update came out a month ago I updated and lost the ability to run a lot of applications due to a major bug. The bug only appears when the phone is encrypted and prevents chrome, chrome beta, Mint, Google search, and many more apps from opening. According to the AT&T forums HTC knows about the issue, but because AT&T sucks I doubt this will be solved in the near future.
Is there a way to downgrade to the 1.15... version that I had before the OTA update?
I have tried factory restore, along with using a computer and installing the RUU.
phone is unrooted and completely stock
Thanks
