install amon ra recovery through adb or cleanflash 1.0
then go to recovery and click developer menu then click
install su & superuser (2nd) then reboot and you are done

didnt work, still not rooted but i have the superuser app.

I had the same issue as you. Download the zip on post number 1036. Flash it in recovery. Reboot your system and I think you need to download super user from the market.. open the fileand you should be rooted

The Red Triangle of Death - Solved

I was rooted with the zedomax One-Click only. Not HTCDev unlock or custom recovery. When I tried running the OTA I got the red triangle/exclamation point that many have seen. This is probably a good thing though, since I didn't want to lose root.
So here is what I did to get updated and keep root:
Feed the Panda to gain S-Off
Install Rom Manager from the Play Store
Install Clockwork Mod Recovery from within Rom Manager
Download [ROM][STOCK] --- Stock Rooted 1.22.651.3 Odexed & DeOdexed (7/12/12)--- to my (external) SDCARD
Used Rom Manager to reboot into recovery.
Used Clockwork Recovery to manually install the ROM from my SDCARD
Phone is updated, still rooted, S-Off and Google Wallet works.
Hope this helps.
EDIT:
Based on the recommendation below, I would suggest using TWRP instead of Rom Manager and CWM. The idea is the same though.
Get S-Off
Install Recovery
Download ROM and
Install it through recovery

I would heavily advise not using rom manager or cwm as cwm does not work properly with our device!

Which recovery would you suggest? I thought CWM was fixed. It seemed to work okay for me but if there is a better solution then please advise.

Yes. Use goo manager from the market to install as that is the easiest method.

Okay, thank you very much. Doing it right now...
One last question: Would there be any reason to reflash the ROM through TWRP? It seems to be working fine already.

Sorry for this question but I do not have any customization on my XS. I have copied the CWM.ZIP and ROM.ZIP files on SD card. Could you please suggest how can I flash ROM.ZIP as I do not have any custom recovery installed.
p.s. The bootlocker is also locked.

This is a fix only for who is installing custom ROMs without custom kernel. To install recovery, search for it.
I have had a problem, after flashing Rom, before flashing your zips I wiped cache, and started this problem in recovery:
Can't mount CACHE/recovery/log
then after flashing your zips phone stuck reboting at logo sony, so I have to start from zero, do you know why have that ocurred, is it because wiping cache?
Can i use this method to flash cm10 without custom kernel?

for the xperia sspeed rom for example, you can also use the stock kernel, but why can't i use it for cm10?
That's a stock based rom so you can use the stock kernel. Whereas CM10 is AOSP based so many things in the Kernel are different for example Wi-Fi modules as well as other things

Hey people,

http://www.thespicygadgematics.com/2012/05/root-unroot-samsung-galaxy-s-ii-i9100.html
Worked fine, I have superuser and I have downloaded and done other things that need rooting (unlock)
But when I reboot into recovery I am in stock recovery not CWM.. did I do something wrong?
Thanks

your link says you have two files. cwm and busybox. did you install both?
even if you have stock recovery, its not an issue as long as you're rooted. If you're going to install a custom kernel, you'll get a custom version of CWM anyways.

How to install CWM ?

I already rooted the phone using CF ROOT. running stock 4.1.2
Can I use ROM MANAGER to flash CWM recovery ?
http://lmgtfy.com/?q=i9300+how+to+install+cwm
there are many guides for rooting and installing CWM, but I'd like to know if I can use ROM MANAGER to flash CWM on a rooted S3 ?

AFAIK, ROM Manager is not fully compatible with CF-ROOT/JB (don't remember which, just that it was incompatible with one of those two). Better flash through ODIN.

not sure what to flash via ODIN to get CWM after rooting with CF root

Try this instead TWRP market download link in first post
Does the same job, download the app from the market and install then install the recovery script from the menu button
Just to clarify, I can install TWRP as suggested above after the phone was rooted via CF ROOT ?
No need to also unlock the boot loader ?
the bootloader is not locked
