hello guys let me fill you in on what ive done here....
ive taken turl's cm9 for the atrix forund here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1500535 {thank you turl for such great work}
and transplanted the photons info into it.....
not going to post an incredible amount of info on it since it is cm9 and by now you guys should know what common issues are across the board with cm9
i am in no way suggesting this build is in anyway better than joker's cm9 i am simply providing the mopho community with more options and activity... dont ask me which is better or how is this different..... i will not answer you.... you will have to try and see for yourself....thanks guys

*A bug(?) this ROM and Jokersax's have this symptom. If your SIM has a lock, the phone loads, but doesn't ask you for the lock code. It behaves as if there is no SIM lock. As a result, you can't connect to the network. Work around. Go into settings and uncheck the SIM lock. It of course asks you for the lock to your SIM. You reboot and now the phone can access the network. If you don't do this, you can't access the network and APN doesn't work.[THANKS COOLQF!]

Do before flash....after flash, it's hit or miss as to whether it works...most people say no
this is actually older than last jokersax ROM, so it may have some small issues joker doesnt have. still, have better battery life time and almost everything works
please moderator dont delete my post... i may be just sleep answering!

First of, Th3Bill and spleef, thank you so much! Thank your also for uploading the file. I'm also very eager to learn. This is all a little new to me, but i'm a quick learner and actually googled instructions. I don't quite understand how to do it BEFORE flashing. Here's what I know from reading:
1) Install ROM (phone is rooted and unlocked of course)
2) Load ES File Explorer
3) Go into /System
4) Back up build.prop
5) Open build.prop
6) Make the following changes to reflect the following:
# Default network type.
# 0 -> WCDMA preferred
ro.telephony.default_network=0
7) Save build.prop
8) Reboot phone
What step do I add/change?

That works...(as long as ES has that level of capability. I use Root Explorer...like it's functionality better) but like I said before, the way that I know people have really had it working was to edit that file before flashing. It's the correct procedure to change that file on the phone.

Very true on that!
I love this rom, everything is working smooth! But i would like to go to miui for now...
Installed GSM version you just posted.
Here's what I did:
1)Installed Jokersax's recover V3
2) Did a recovery reboot
3) Wiped partition, cache, and dalvik
4) Did a recovery reboot
5) Installed your ROM
6) Did a recovery reboot
7) Installed ROM again
8) Rebooted system
9) Installed GAPPS
-Camera works, holding the camera horizontal and vertical. Jokersax's would crash on me if I attempted to load it right after the phone loaded. I don't have that problem with this ROM. Takes pictures fine.
-Keyboard works. If you type too quickly sometimes the haptic doesn't work. (I always turn this off, so no biggie) Same problem in Jokersax's.
-Swiping through the apps is pretty smooth. You have to create longer swipes than on CM7, or else it might tap, but no biggie.
-It feels like you need to put more pressure against the screen for swipes and key taps to be recognized when compared to CM7.2
-Connected to my wifi without a problem. Works as expected.
-Enabled built-in sdcard. Works fine, can access data.
-Automatically loaded my APN settings after rebooting the phone. No need to enter them manually. (had to remove my SIM's lock though).
-Connects to EDGE and 3G (GSM) fine
-Restoring apps through MyBackup root was faster
-The only restore that was slower, SMS. On CM7.2 this took less than a minute. On CM9, it took closer to 5minutes. It was a total of 1101 SMS.
-Google Play works. apps that needed updating were updated without a hitch. It quickly recognized my restored apps after a reboot (normally this took about 10 min on CM7.2)
-Auto dim works when phone not being used for a couple of seconds
-WhatApp, linkedin, Skype & twitter loads and syncs.
-Facebook app can't sync contacts <--Problem with all ICS(the app works) (I use friendcaster for syncing, it's better anyway)
-Google maps works.
-Gmail works fine. It's at version 4.0, which is better. Something odd, the app was preinstalled, but couldn't see it in Google Play. I had to do a restore of gmail, and then it showed up in Play.
-Google Maps, it wasn't in the phone or in Google Play. Restoring it from a backup allowed it to update and show up on my phone, and in Google Play.
-All the other small things worked fine, recent calls, contacts (merged contacts w/o a hitch)
-Pattern unlock doesn't work too well. I had to disable it. It behaves as if I lift my finger some times....
A bug(?) this ROM and Jokersax's have this symptom. If your SIM has a lock, the phone loads, but doesn't ask you for the lock code. It behaves as if there is no SIM lock. I hope this helps. Overall, I love the ROM and will keep using it and test it out =D

-Facebook contacts can't sync (the app works) (Suggestions on workaround?)
-Google maps works. Although sometime the google maps screen would just be a cream color. Only way to the the map again is by backing out of the app and loading it again.
I installed the GAPPS from jokersax, version 11. I've logged into my account and it seems to work. (I didn't have the one from this thread in my SDCARD, oops).

Reinstalled fresh again. This time using the GAAPS in this thread. Let's see how things go =D Read up on facebook. Apparently Google is redoing the API and for this reason Facebook and ICS (by default) currently don't play nice for contacts.

now this is a proper, helpful review! Need more like this on every rom out there....including joker's. Just putting "x doesn't work" doesn't help. Telling dev exactly what you were doing and how you were doing when x didn't work and the way it didn't work is the right way. Great review!
I am so confused!!!! Now I have so many ROM options I don't know which one to pick. Lol (On CM7.2 now but was on Jokers CM9 prior)
You guys do great work and been a huge help for me with issues I have had so I wanted to thank you.

With this and other GSM capable roms, is it a "either/or" situation, where if you install the GSM rom you can't connect CDMA, or is it just like an additional feature, so you could use cdma by default and roam on gsm?

NOT WORKING?
Are you sure you've done a factory reset? You have to do a factory reset on the first screen (from Dell) of the recovery mode.
Still not working or causing problems (button still lights)? Maybe you're old baseband, try to download new here and upload using fastboot command.
Code:
fastboot -i 0x413c flash amss amss.mbn
Last chance. If you still have problems, try loading the original ROM ver. 354 and then reload the Simple Streak ROM. This may work
OPTIONAL MODIFICATIONS (update via StreakMod Recovery)
Landscape mode - return back to the default display orientation
Stage UI - return back to the default launcher from Dell
STK Tools - return back to the Sim Toolkit
Original kernel - if you have any problems, you can try the original kernel from Dell.
DJ-Steve KERNEL
Install the kernel from DJ_Steve ROM (thanks for his great work) and adjust some settings. After the update default frequency is set at 1.19 GHz and smartass CPU governors (can be changed via the tools available (SetCPU)). The update will not lose any user data.
DJ-Steve KERNEL INSTALLATION:
you have already installed the Simple Streak ROM (ver. 1.0, 1.1, 1.2)
copy perfupdate.zip to SD card
update via StreakMod Recovery
If update does not work, try the version without the default overclocking.
Good to See....
other custom ROM choices emerging for our beloved Streak!
Anyone try this yet?
Based upon what I've done with 351 (completely ripped out the Stage UI, Dell Sync, Amazon MP3, CoPilot Live, Evernote, Napster, Oovoo, PageOnce, Roxio Now, and Zinio Reader), leaving Swype and adding LauncherPro, the Streak should be very fast and very responsive, especially when shutting it off.
can you test netflix?

yeah ive had it on my phone for a few hours....
ive been using 354 since it come out & streakdroid before that & i think 354 is great so i jumped on this when it come out
ive got to admit i havnt done a factory reset yet as i dont want to lose my setting (i might tonight when i dont need my phone)
EDIT
portrait pics
A very clean rom. Simple and fast.
I really like it and didn't find any problem as of this moment, phone works, GPS works.
Is that possible for add adhoc network support in the next version?
Thanks Spidla, keep up the good work
Seems pretty solid, the only issue I have, is after a reboot, it is seems to be stuck in Landscape and wont auto rotate on the home screen. When I eventually get it to go Portrait everything is fine. I cleared the program cache, fixed permissions and cleared the dalvic cache, but that didn't fix the issue. Apart from that all my apps restored fine with Titanium backup root (after installing busy box) and they all work OK, there has been no force close issues either. Great work, thanks

Been using this for an hour or so and must admit I am very happy with it. Feels very fast and I love the built in portrait lock and the battery percentage mod. I think this rom is a keeper !
To the person stuck in landscape, on boot up I go to settings and toggle auto rotate on, rotate to portrait and then toggle it back off. Seems to be working for me so far...
Only question I have is that I'm using this with an older baseband (351) is that going to cause me problems ? Seems ok so far.
Cheers,
malty

Works fabulous! As soon as I started the system, it felt so light and fast! I really like it! Good job! *thumbs up!*
EDIT: The only thing I don't like is that I can't uninstall Launcher Pro and buy the full version. I just can't uninstall. Any ideas?
EDIT 2: Nevermind, I install an Unlocker and now I've got the full version installed.
Thanks again for the ROM!

I'm having an issue with this ROM.. I factory reset everything, davlik empty, and clear the partition as well before installing, install the ROM, and factory reset again, reboot system.
Goes to Android load screen and then goes into regular android lock screen (portrait) and then back to the Android load screen, does it a couple times and then either freezes and I have to take out battery or just freezes at Android lock screen.
I am restored back to GingerStreak now. Any suggestions?
For a multi language rom use .351. I use it with Dutch language and it is great stuff

Sounds like you have a boot loop.
Try to go by these steps (I did it that way)
1. Put .zip file into the root of SD card
2. Boot into Recovery (I'm using Clockwork)
3. Do a dalvik cache wipe
4. I didn't clear the partition.
5. Do a factory reset in the Clockwork recovery.
6. Choose the .zip and flash the ROM
7. When it says installation completed, choose the option ''Reboot Recovery'' and press VOL UP + VOL DOWN at the same time and keep holding the power button
8. You'll get to the Dell Factory Reset screen
9. Do a factory reset (NOT FROM THE RECOVERY)
10. Reboot automatically
11. Enjoy
Also, download the ROM file again, it might be corrupted.
- Hope it works out for you, it really is a great ROM.
**Currently this only supports CM7, but I am hoping to also include OMFGB and LTB soon**
Also, I realize this is poorly formatted.. I'm on my phone so until I can get to a comp I will try my best to make it less ugly

GPS:
1. From your CM7 rom, boot into Clockwork Recovery. 2. Back up your CM7, and wipe data/cache as well as Dalvik. 3. Flash a Sense based rom. 4. Boot into Sense based rom. 5. Turn GPS on in Sense based rom. 6. From the market, download GPS Status & Toolbox (free, unless you’re in a giving mood) 7. Open GPS Status & Toolbox, hit menu, then tools. 8. Hit “Manage A-GPS state” 9. Hit “Reset” 10. Go back to tools, and “Manage A-GPS state”, and select download. 11. Go outside, or near a window and point your phone to the sky. There will be two numbers near the bottom right of the compass denoting how many Satellites you’ve found and how many fixes you have. (I usually get 8-11 fixes on 8-11 satellites but it should work with less fixes and satellites) 12. Straight from this screen (if you have the power menus), reboot into recovery leaving GPS on. 13. In recovery, wipe data/cache as well as Dalvik. 14. Restore your CM7 backup, and you should now have GPS
Problem: Non-GPS geolocation is (very) inaccurate Solution: (Thanks Wraithdu!)
The inaccurate non-GPS location can be fixed by turning on WiFi (does not need to be connected, just ON). Obviously a temporary fix, but works for me - I can get location now in Beautiful Widgets, SiMi Clock, The Weather Channel, and the browser. I increased my WiFi scan interval to 3 minutes to try and help battery. But it beats getting the weather for Guam.
Problem: I just installed CM7, where is the Market?! Solution: Not a problem, you just have to install gapps. Easiest way is to download and install through ROM Manager: Rom Manager -> Download ROM -> Google Apps.

Where can I get kernels for CM7? You have a few choices: The stock kernel which has been reported to work very nicely. Why do I have worse signal on CM7 than I do on Sense-based roms? In short, you don't. AOSP roms usually reflect your DATA signal, not your signal in DBM which is your voice signal. If this really upsets you, some themes make it look like you have more bars
In Call Volume Fix (ALL RC's)
This was originally released for RC .4, and some say it is not needed on RC .6, but here it is if you’re still on .4, or maybe still aren’t experiencing adequate volume on RC .6. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php? t=1121517**This has since been updated to work on ALL releases currently available.
Phone not ringing when called: While there are no *definitive* fixes for this, there are two things that people have reported as working.. 1. If you have Google Voice tied to your mobile phone, delete your mobile phone number from the GV website, and then re-add it. 2. Go to Settings > Profiles > Manage App Groups > and delete the Phone(or dialer, not sure which it is) from the application groups window.
4G does not stick:
I recommend MrB’s method of getting 4G to stick if you’re having problems. I can’t find the thread right now, but since I’ve done it so many times here is the process:
1. Go to Wireless and set yourself to CDMA/EVDO auto. 2. Wait for a solid 3G connection. 3. Switch your radios to CDMA/EVDO + LTE auto. (Even if you don’t get signal, it’s ok) 4. Open up Rom Manager, and select Fix Permissions. 5. Let the phone do its thing, you’re free to go make a sandwich (this takes considerably less time on a fresh install due to the lack of apps) 6. Once Fix Permissions is finished, GO BACK TO THE WIRELESS SETTINGS, and turn your radio back to CDMA/EVDO auto. 7. Reboot. 8. Wait for solid 3G to pick up on the fresh boot, then change your radios back to CDMA/EVDO + LTE auto.
Note: This won’t work for everyone, I have seen plenty examples of it not working, but I have also seen plenty examples of it working as well. I do this everytime I flash a RC, and the only time I lose 4G is after a reboot.
Trouble getting 4G/keeping 4G? (cont.) Simple fix if you're having trouble getting and keeping 4G, don't forget to try formatting your /system in CWM. (You'll have to reinstall the rom, so only do this as a last resort). It's under Mounts and Storage.
Sound only coming out of ONE headphone/Sound is mono: I haven’t seen this pop up too recently, so I’m assuming it is fixed but most people have noted that if they start having this problem a reboot usually fixes it. IF NOT, open your voice search app (doesn't hurt to place a search), and then your sound should work

Possible fix for ringtones playing once.. for the brave, thanks Szale9001!
I wanted to share, however, that I may have found out a potential fix for the "only one Ring during phone calls" issue. First I followed the first post steps and deleted the Dialer app from the Profile settings, but that didn't work for me (I do not use google voice so step 1 was irrelevant for me). Through some research I came across this post: http://code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod...detail?id=3653 It basically states that only some of the ringers in CM7 have an "ANDROID_LOOP=true" line in the metadata of the ogg file. It gives instructions on what to do to add this line to all oggs at once. To summarize, I used my ubuntu laptop with adb and the vorbis-tools package installed, to adb pull my chosen ringtone. I then typed the following in the terminal: $ vorbiscomment -a -t "ANDROID_LOOP=true" myringtone.ogg Afterward I mounted the /system partition as R/W and pushed my ringtone back to the phone. It seemed (I rebooted to make sure and further tested other ringtones) that once I completed these steps my ringtone would repeat as long as the phone was ringing and until I answered or ignored. Just wanted someone to know, might help some people. Also maybe if slayher or one of the maintainers gets wind they may be able to do this to all ringtones for the next release (assuming my solution works lol). http://code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod...detail?id=3653
Problem: Included wireless tethering not working Solution: From what I've seen, you will be able to connect to the wireless network, but you will not be able to obtain an IP address. I have found that forcing an IP release/renew upon connecting generally takes care of this problem. On Windows, this can be done with the following: 1. Start -> Run -> "cmd" 2. ipconfig /release 3. ipconfig /renew

This is a more detailed edited version of how to install the Resurrection ROM by westcrip...
as have seen too many users that seem to be skipping parts or confused of the installation.
This is also for users like myself, who just started on this site and can't post on Development side to find their answers.
BACKUP your apps of course...but DO NOT backup system data.Repeat!! DO NOT BACKUP SYSTEM DATA. Restoring system data can give you some problems because if you don't know what you're doing, can accidentally replace something from the fixes that screws things up!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PART-1
Rom Installation (you MUST follow these steps! )
**Go to recovery mode( Vol UP + Power+ Home and hold until the Samsung Galaxy screen comes on)
1- Wipe data / Factory reset then (can Wipe cache partition or go straight to)
Install ResurrectionV1.1_official_remix_ics_4.0.3_XXLPE_FULL-WiPE.zip
*if you did not Wipe cache, can go straight to install from cache...
but if you Wiped cache then you go to install from external SD card and install 1.0_CWM.zip (this will be touch version)...
then choose - install zip from sdcard. - choose zip from sdcard. Scroll down to Download folder and select ResurrectionV1.1_official_remix_ics_4.0.3_XXLPE_FULL-WiPE.zip.
Please wait a moment.
2-Install gapps_for_remix_v1.1.zip
3-Install gapps_fixer.zip then go back and go to Advanced.
4-Wipe dalvik cache (required)
and Fix permissions and go back to
5-Reboot system
(at this stage it may take a while for first bootup, because we have wiped cache. It needs to rebuild it, so don`t panic.
It may take a while *average around 3-5min before getting to Installing applications screen)
At this stage, boot to system and configure the phone (change language settings, etc).
When finished, again reboot into recovery and follow PART-2
PART-2 (required)
This part it's mandatory here are contained the language, theme, AOSP apps and the T9 dialer if you want it...
or use default. ONLY install one of these:
*note: you're in regular CWM using up and down volue + power button to enter.
If you want the touch - reinstall it like before.
1.- Install the SMSfixupdate-afterboot+T9 Dialler.zip
or
SMSfixupdate-afterboot+default remix dialler.zip
go back
2.- Reboot into system
After finishing the boot it's highly probably that you receive a force close from android phone.
It's normal and it's the only FC that you should get.
Enjoy!
**There is a RAM Manager Fix (When you open the Task Manager app, there's a section called RAM and a button to Clear Memory.
The fix enables that button again... for those not working).
Here is a mirror link for this and other files: RAM Manager Fix and others
PART-3 (optional)
*This can apply to many other files you want to flash.
If you want to install Siyah kernel:
Place Siyah-v3.0rc4-CWM.zip (or whichever version you're using) in the root of internal SDcard memory ("download" folder) and go to recovery mode (Vol Up + Power + Home).
Go to Install zip from SDCard... and select it.
Yes and install... Fix permissions... Reboot.
**battery issues with Siyah?
go to recovery
wipe dalvik
go to "kernel specific options" to reset them or other performance tweaks.
reset kernal
fix permission
reboot
**No more video player?
Get the VideoPlayer.apk file (*have to do a search for it now until I find another working link to it)
and copy it to system/app using something like Root Explorer
Reboot
Hope this helps. I'll edit this when I have time (usually busy with other projects).
*Version 1.2 is out now Check it here.
Good job
Tho make sure you spend a bit of time regularly checking the thread (depending on how much action the thread gets, obviously). Once you make threads like these people invariably ask questions & it's best if the person who detailed the method answers most of them.
Thank you sir.
I will give as much time as I can on this, when questions come up... and I'll be sure to keep up with bugs going on on original thread... though they will be updating this ROM soon to 4.0.4.
When that happens, guess will have to update this lol.
(oh no, what have I gotten myself into )
Language problem
Hello!
Thanks for the thread, really useful for noobs needing help to fix some problems.
I am a noob... and I have a problem.
Everything is working fine, battery is ok, no fc... but language seems to be messed up, I get my language (spanish) in almost all settings and menus, but dialer is invariably in english. Some contacts dialogs show this behaviour too.
Thank you very much in advance!
Thanx a lot, really useful...cant wait for 1.2
SMSafter-reboot is the only fix i needed to fix my dialer fcs issue, after a dalvik cache clean and permission fixing. That was the only way, if some1 has same issue.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA
Hi Miguel. The ROM is mostly for English and some language settings are off here and there. Mine too shows Chinese characters in some parts. I think this has to do with where the phone is originally from.
Version 1.2 will be out soon (based on 4.0.4) and should have more bugs fixed. I will see if there's anything can be done to help you with Spanish settings.
*glad it's helpful for you guys.
Thanks for a good simple guide.... it is getting pretty difficult to find answers with so many posts in the main thread.
Will you be making a similar step by step guide for ver 1.2 that should be out soon?
If it is needed I will. Will have to wait for it to come out and see if instructions changed. The process will be easier (after what westcrip said), not needing to add gapps fix, etc now I think.
Anyways, if I think needs more detail for newer users, I'll add a new thread for it and post a link here to it too.
Which dialler
I'm a true noob and I'm rooted with CWM installed and I'm giving serious consideration to this rom. My only question at this point is what are the differences btw the 2 diallers and do most folks prefer one over the other?
Hi tlmacson. It's a very good fast and smooth rom with good support. 1 dialer gives you T9 abilities... which means when you start dialing some number, it shows you contact(s) that much those numbers.
But there are some bugs in it not working for some, so recommended to install the default one and add some other app that does the same, or install T9 on after the default.
PS
If you want to give this ROM a try... the new 1.2 version will be out any moment which should have easier installation with hopefully less bugs ^^
I have been using it for a few weeks now. It has run really smooth, the only bugs are very small and do not effect the use of it daily.
I had a few problems with the dialler, so I installed exDialler. I actually prefer it, it has t9 searching and can be skinned to look like ics dialler.
I will definatly give ver 1.2 of the rom a try too.
Yes, that's the 3rd party app people like for T9 use: exDialer
It also allows you to give it black theme.
HELP!
Cyber i'm wondering if you did test the 1.2 PRO resurrection I want to upgrade to it but i don't know if it is a FULL WIPE or not because westscript didn't mention it also there are no GAPPS and FIXER within the thread can you please confirm for me this?
I think that I may just do that since I'm not having any real issues with the leaked "stock" XXLPQ. I appreciate your advice and dialer explanation.
nHorus - For v1.2 it works better if you do a full wipe Do a full wipe(factory reset+cache+dalvik cache), though you can try without it.. and just do the factory reset. Then install ROM and Siyah kernel and reboot to do initial setup. Then comeback to recovery mode and install navigation button fix and app themes, reboot.
Test
Thank you cyberboob.
I will try 1.2 and see how it goes, anyway I will install exDialer to fix my languages "problems" (it is not a dealbreaker but is disturbing seeing some dalogues in other language).
According to 1.2 changelog this version is promising.

thank you. i'll try without the wipes
Sorry.. a full wipe is needed again (or more bugs will be present).
Follow these steps:
Do a full wipe(factory reset+cache+dalvik cache)
Install the Main ROM
Install Siyah-v3.0.1-CWM.zip
Reboot
Do the initial setup of things
Go back to CWM and install navigation button fix
Reboot
Then go back to CWM and install app themes (there are some bugs, but if you want the black themes, then install classic first, then black)
Reboot
Some people have other issues after, but see how this goes.
I would change the DPI settings to 184 or 210 for everything to work fine from market apps.
*Also westcrip will post a new fix update for some new bugs reported by some users.

I know I'm showing my "noobness" but I thought that the kernel was part of the ROM; so how do I install the kernel after the ROM?
Same way you installed the main ROM.. go into recovery mode and select the folder you placed it in (usually internal sd card "download" folder) and flash it "yes". Fix permissions if want and reboot. Same with anything else you need to flash/CWM after/before.
hello all respected developers,
your contributions to the photon 4g community and to the android community is wonderful. I hope I won't be pissing you guys off with my questions. Feel free to delete the post if you think its already asked and not worth it.
I'm what you would call a typical end user. Have only basic knowledge about flashing roms and I'm a huge motorola fan. Not the software but only the hardware they give.
Ok now for the questions and problems I face with the roms.
1. I installed AOKP rom with the newest and latest kitchen sink (kitchensink-v2.11-photon7). Installed perfectly.
=>After I installed the rom I wanted to take a picture with my camera, and i dont use an external SD card so i wasnt able to take picture with my camera because near the camera click button it kept saying "you need sd card" which I don't have and would not like to buy a new one.
I feel about 8 gb internal storage is more than enough for a cell phone and don't want to waste anymore money buying useless accesories.
How can I fix this?? I checked the aroma installer there is no option for use EMMC as primary storage. How do I turn my internal storage as the primary storage.
2.Now I thought i would give CNA rom a try, i installed it went perfectly well. Now I went into settings storage and storage configuration just like thebill said, and clicked on the option that says to use internal storage and rebooted phone, now camera works fine here.
=> BUT in this rom there is another problem, i go into settings and try to click on the mobile networks (because i want to edit APN and stuff) what i get is an error that says exactly this "Unfortunately the process com.android.phone has stopped" .
3. Now everyone says cm9 works very well is very stable. Now i want to see this cm9 for myself. so i downloaded " beta 0.8.1 AROMA - 23/08/2012 8:01pm EST " from www(dot)jokersax.com/developer-pages/jokersax/cyanogenmod9-photon/ It is aroma based so install it directly with full wipe and reboot phone after installing I get stuck in the "dual core technology screen" . I tried various suggestions given here for boot loop problem i cleared cache and data did factory reset try install it again still stuck in boot loop.
now out of these 3 problems solve any 1 for me please.
thanks in advance
CM9 does work well. But, I tried the Aroma version myself and had issues so maybe try one of the others first.

The kitchen sink rom has not been updated in a very long time. All of the roms included are based on our ICS builds. We have since moved onto JB and most will say that our JB roms are much more stable than ICS roms. I would suggest downloading the jelly bean versions of AOKP and CNA and trying them out as they are in active development and getting more stable every week. You will have a better experience with these.
i have more questions now coz of my careless button pressing i formatted emmc in the cwm and now i dont have any files in internal storage and i formated system, cache data etc etc everything full wipe. Should be able to go into mounts and storage and select mount emmc or sdcard and connect your phone to your computer. Then you'll be able to put files onto it. I noticed you said you didn't have an sdcard? Are you sure? My photon came with a 2gb sdcard already installed if I'm not mistaken. If its there, choosing to mount usb storage will work too.
well **** it..im gonna install jb like u guys said. Since ics development is stopped i hope gsm works in the new jb.
the mount usb storage doesnt work in cwm get some error (some unable lunfile error) is there way to push files using fastboot?
hi, i just bought an sd card lol and mounted it and installed cm9 beta. Now i got a problem earlier when i installed CNA i messed with the testing tools and clicked something and from there i lost my GSM signal completely gone (got x mark on the signal bar) and after that i did format system n installed another rom and even in that rom i dont get any signal (get x sign on the signal bar) i dont remember what i pressed exactly does anyone know how i can fix it? in the settings status and signal status it says radio off.
Again, you'll probably have better luck with any of the JB based roms. You'll never wanna go back to ics. Make sure you download the gsm version.
But to fix your current setup, you can try going into phone app and dialing *#*#4636#*#* then ensuring the network type is set to gsm auto prl. Set it to that if its not then reboot. If this doesn't help I don't know how to fix your current setup as I don't know what you changed.

ok i can tell u exactly what i did. in the CNA rom in the system settings there is an option called advanced testing i clicked on that --> next i clicked on "testing settings" ----> then phone information----> then i clicked on run ping test---> then scroll down and its selected as gsm auto(PRL) no worries there---> but then i clicked on turn off radio thats when the problem started ---> even though i turned it back on radio is still turned off any idea how to turn it back on???
EDIT: when dial *#*#4636#*#* before i even type in the last " * " it force closes settings and the dialer too man im kicking myself right now for messing with advanced testing options

ok i can tell u exactly what i did. in the CNA rom in the system settings there is an option called advanced testing i clicked on that --> next i clicked on "testing settings" ----> then phone information----> then i clicked on run ping test---> then scroll down and its selected as gsm auto(PRL) no worries there---> but then i clicked on turn off radio thats when the problem started ---> even though i turned it back on radio is still turned off any idea how to turn it back on???
EDIT: when dial *#*#4636#*#* before i even type in the last " * " it force closes settings and the dialer too man im kicking myself right now for messing with advanced testing options

I am unsure how to get you back to working in your current rom. Again though, doing a full wipe and installing the gsm version of cm10 should fix you right up as long as you wipe correctly. By that I mean, wipe cache, system, data, and dalvikcache before installing. Sorry I can't be of more help, I've never had to tinker with gsm nor have I left the country with my photon.

I'm having the same issue.
You can ask the dev if he's able and willing to fix it.
I haven't asked, cause i know a trick (yeah me!)
No credits for me! I can't remember who figured it out. But if you search in x10 threads, you'll find lot's of posts about this.
In dialer dial *#*#4636#*#*
A menu wil open; Choose Phone information (first option).
Scroll al the way down.
Choose Disable radio and wait for radio being shut down (sort of plane mode - your icon in status bar will change.).
Then, switch DNS check so that it says: 0.0.0.0 allowed
Then enable radio again.
If all went well then your signal will come back, including data connection :fingers-crossed:
I might be necessary to do it each time after a (cold) reboot.
If (after reboot) it already shows 0.0.0.0 allowed then you still need to disable radio, wait a moment, and enable radio to bring data connection back to life. Dunno why, but it works for me.
There are also apps that do this for you (like HiAPN), but in fact, they are just opening the menu for you.
Good luck!
