[MOD] wallpaper scrolling 2.17 OTA w/no unlock animation/ carousel - HTC EVO 3D

This is a really cool mod someone came to me and asked for and since.it got my attention I decided to put it out here for everyone!
Original mod by Heyjoe66 HTC amaze
I simply ported to our sense 3.0 evo3D!!
What it does is enable wallpaper scrolling while disabling the unlock and carousel .
A cool sense 4.0 like experience. ill get a write up on how its done asap.
4 edits to smali files in rosie.
Includes :
Launcher.smali
SettingUtil.smali
WallpaperManager.smali
SlideController.smali
This apk will work on 2.17 bases. tested on ZR3D cdma and working.
Flash in recovery.

Hi,
need to mention, it's kind of performance hungry, if you'll fill all 7 pages, you may experience lags on scrolling. vfs_cache_pressure = 200 seems to make some difference.
Also it involves disabling of spinning animation. And even more, I would strongly recommend you to use it in conjunction with ultra-smooth rosie patch, again to avoid lags.
So it goes somehow like this (- means remove line, + add line):
note: synthetic access$ methods may have different numbers in your ROM, so look for method's content but not the title
To disable spinning animation on unlock:
-------------------
Launcher.smali
-------------------
.method static synthetic access$5700(Lcom/htc/launcher/LauncherZ
.registers 2
- iget-boolean v0, p0, Lcom/htc/launcher/Launcher;->mSkipUnlockAnimation:Z
+ const/4 v0, 0x1
return v0
.end method
To disable spinning animation on long swipe:
-------------------
SettingUtil.smali (disable spin on long swipe)
-------------------
.method public static loadSettings(Landroid/content/ContextV
sget-object v3, Lcom/htc/launcher/settings/SettingUtil;->sEaseOutBackCoefficients:[F
const/high16 v4, 0x3f00
aput v4, v3, v10
- invoke-static {}, Lcom/htc/launcher/settings/SettingUtil;->usesRingSlide()Z
- move-result
+ const/4 v3, 0x0
if-eqz v3, :cond_16a
sget-object v3, Lcom/htc/launcher/settings/SettingUtil;->sEaseOutCoefficientsShort:[F
To enable wallpaper scrolling:
------------------------------
WallpaperManager.smali
------------------------------
.method public setWallpaperOffsets(Landroid/os/IBinder;FF)V
.registers 5
- invoke-static {}, Lcom/htc/launcher/settings/SettingUtil;->usesRingSlide()Z
- move-result v0
+ const/4 v0, 0x0
if-eqz v0, :cond_10
invoke-virtual {p0}, Lcom/htc/launcher/WallpaperManager;->isCircularWallpaper()Z
To switch to swinging scroll:
---------------------------------
SlideController.smali
---------------------------------
.method private defaultEasingFunction()Lcom/htc/launcher/widget/EasingFunction;
.registers 2
- invoke-static {}, Lcom/htc/launcher/settings/SettingUtil;->usesRingSlide()Z
- move-result v0
+ const/4 v0, 0x0
if-eqz v0, :cond_c

Just flash zip in recovery, wipe dalvik and cache, then reboot.
This is really awesome. Always wondered why they decided in Sense 3.0 and 3.5 to disable this.
One word of caution, if you have any Rosie mods like 5 column drawer, non-paginated app drawer, and transparent parts it changes all of that.
Works well though.

ill whip up a leedroid compatible version in a few for those who need that. sorry guys not alot of time today

Please. And thank you. Nothing more irritating than trying to swipe to the next screen, and having the whole damn thing spin for 5 minutes like a roulette wheel.

Mean ROM, but with Lee Droid tweaks.
The tweaks put the spinning home screens back.

Do you think you could make one up with a semi trans app drawer for ZR3D? I would love to help out and make it up my self but my computer is down right now and I can't make anything till its fixed. The ROM is running nice btw , with the few trans apps and that semi trans black quick settings its looking great.

[tutorial]**transparent recent apps background**

*greetings*
so being a freak about transparency i thought i woud post this. this can be done on the stock sense systemui or the ported zeus mod systemui. having been on the dinc threads with ihtfp69 im a zeus mod user.i havnt seen this done so this may be a first. not sure
this wont be a tutorial on how to extract the apk and decompile. this is assuming you have that knowledge.
decompile systemui. go to-
smali/com/android/systemui/statusbar/RecentApps.smali
because zeus systemui and stock systemui have differences this will not be in the same locaton in the smali thread. you want to search for this
const v5, -0xddddde
invoke-virtual {p0, v5}, Lcom/android/systemui/statusbar/RecentApps;->setBackgroundColor(I)V
change to this-
const v5, -0x3
invoke-virtual {p0, v5}, Lcom/android/systemui/statusbar/RecentApps;->setVisibility(I)V
recompile and sign flash or push to system/ app. i have not found it neccessary to make the recent apps image in drawable-hdpi transparent but your results may be different. if that is the case you will need to make these images transparent-
recent_apps_bar_background
recent_apps_bar_background_l
recent_apps_bar_page_background
recent_apps_bar_page_background_l
i dont believe it will be neccessary but your results may be different then mine
Very nice!
Could you do a thread for transparent Notification bar? Is it even possible?
Oh please oh please do a tutorial on transparent notification and BTW how does one open jar files? Lest say framework.jar

You can change the file extension to .apk instead of .jar and use apktool or manager.
Or you can use baksmali, smali from a command line
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
the problem with our device and im not quit sure why the sensation is different is that the taskbar is pulled from skins. so we pretty much had enabled transparency and didnt even know it. Fusion is a library htc has built into their framework and i have spent a good deal of time trying to write it out of their apps. it worked with mms, i had some success with the dialer but writing the taskbar image out of skins in systemui source code has eluded me. so if you set transparency in systemui then you need to have a transparent taskbar in whatever skin you use. i will contimue to try t make that image internal to systmui and will post it if i ever succede.
how do you make the background transparent when you pull down to see notifications? the one that is usually white? I want to make that semi-transparent

You'll need Holo launcher and some zips which are attached in the op. The you just have to install them. This works for every device also on the wildfire.

No I didn't quite perfect that part, I did successfully get the carrier label on the status bar by copying the carrier line from statusbarexpanded.xml (i think) but the text format was different to the clock so it looked odd but that should be easily changed, I just never got round to it.

UKB is a custom ROM put together by DSB..
This will work on other roms but I wouldn't use other ROMs mods on UKB due to SystemUI modification .. you will lose some funcionality ..

I realize sync is few and far between but can you provide an example? .... This method doesn't just make the icon invisible it eliminates its presence ... The status bar is set up to float all items to the right so the sync should be moved right by the distance of the reticle removed ... Other than that there should be no issue ... Mine has popped a few times but I am running the themed version I posted over at rootz and it showed up fine ..

I realize sync is few and far between but can you provide an example? .... This method doesn't just make the icon invisible it eliminates its presence ... [mod] [tutorial] Sense 5 Remove am/pm

Okay if you are running a Sense 5 rom and want to remove am/pm this the code
in Systemui\smali\com\statusbapolicy\Clock.smali
Code:
.line 65
const/4 v0, 0x1
iput v0, p0, Lcom/android/systemui/statusbar/policy/Clock;->AM_PM_STYLE:I
.line 114
new-instance v0, Lcom/android/systemui/statusbar/policy/Clock$1;
invoke-direct {v0, p0}, Lcom/android/systemui/statusbar/policy/Clock$1;-><init>(Lcom/android/systemui/statusbar/policy/Clock;)V
iput-object v0, p0, Lcom/android/systemui/statusbar/policy/Clock;->mIntentReceiver:Landroid/content/BroadcastReceiver;
.line 77
return-void
.end method
Now change to
Code:
.line 65
const/4 v0, 0x2
iput v0, p0, Lcom/android/systemui/statusbar/policy/Clock;->AM_PM_STYLE:I
.line 114
new-instance v0, Lcom/android/systemui/statusbar/policy/Clock$1;
invoke-direct {v0, p0}, Lcom/android/systemui/statusbar/policy/Clock$1;-><init>(Lcom/android/systemui/statusbar/policy/Clock;)V
iput-object v0, p0, Lcom/android/systemui/statusbar/policy/Clock;->mIntentReceiver:Landroid/content/BroadcastReceiver;
.line 77
return-void
.end method
and I haven't tested it yet but i am pretty sure if you changed the
Code:
const/4 v0, 0x2 or the const/4 v0, 0x1 to const/4 v0, 0x0
you will get the large am/pm.
anyways this for dev or ppl who just want to learn stuff.
sharing is caring
Super Big thanks to Newtoroot for bring sense 5 to us.
Another big thanks to Zounduser for talking me into getting this phone. If it wasn't for him I would still be with the one x
Is sense 5 defaulted to 24'hour clock?
Was never really a fan of it but it's not too bad after using the past few days.

Where is the systemui directory? I had assumed it would be at root. I did a search with root explorer, and it didnt find any file named Clock.smali. Maybe im missing something...
