Wait ,do you have the international SGS2 (i9100) or the AT&T SGS2 (i777). If you have the i777, you will not be able to flash any i9100 roms.

The ROM you linked was for the AT&T SGS2 (i777) and you have the i19100. This rom will not work, i would suggest that you flash a ROM via Odin.

your image shows an AT&T SGS2, then rom you installed is correct...
you are lucky and and thanks to CWM for preventing the installation of inappropreate ROM...
Hunt for AT&T SGS2 (i777) version roms and check md5 Checksum from your mobile using AFV toot from market....

Crucio may be right. Looks a lot like touch CWM to me (looks exactly the same as mine). However, if you look at the log of what happened on the screen, it's gone thru every SGS2 variant it has in its checklist & seemed to fail to find all/any of them, sooo...
That would tend to suggest the firmware attempting to be flashed isn't for/doesn't work with any of those phones in that list.

Seems like something may have broken since you flashed a i777 rom on your i9100 phone. Use odin and flash a rom (stock, cm, or other odin flashable roms)

just realised by mistake I flashed different rom and it changed my model number to SGH-i777
how to go back on i9100?
thanks

hmm, the rom you linked and installed is for AT&T which is a wrong selection...
if your CWM is not allowing you to install any other rom only option left is ODIN,
Flash an official ROM from ODIN...

For now, it would probably best to restart from stock, just in case.
Download this or other official ICS:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1544487
Instructions are there, so just read that. Then go to chainfire kernels for root and CWM.
Chainfire kernel:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1544487 After that, you should be fine in flashing any i9100 roms.

[Q]Flash back to stock ROM

I want to flash back to stock rom but I have some question first:
-Do I need to convert filesystem to rfs before flashing stock rom which is rfs?
-Which is the best stock rom: KPE, KPN or KPO?
-Does CSC matter if I don't plan to update using KIES?

No you do not need to convert filesystem to rfs, it'll automatically convert to rfs
Personally if i were you i would go with latest stable release like KPO,
CSC don't matter unless don't plan to update through KIES,
I would recommend to use MULTI CSC Mod by redmanner

Ok. I flashed stock KPO rom and rooted it succesfully but one thing bothers me:
How do I remove Swype that is bundled with official firmware? I want to use the beta but the already installed one blocks it.

I flashed xxkph and is running fine.
But when I connected it to kies it is saying that the phone can't be updated.
Does this mean the phone is not completely unrooted?
Should I do something to completely unroot it?
In other thread I got a reply that flashing UK 3 stock ROM will solve the problem. But I wonder if I can flash my Unlocked mobile ( Mobiles bought in India are unlocked only, right? ) with some other carrier ROM.
Completely erase internal SD
Hi Guys,
At some stage I installed a custom ROM that had Indonesian as the default language.
Even though I restore stock ROM with Odin, this Indonesian language remains as the default.
Also, the phone used to boot with Galaxy Cooper but now it boots as Galaxy Ace.
How to completely get back to original?
Must I format the internal SD?
How is this done?
No, it means that your csc is not set for your region! and since is not set KIES cannot upgrade it, but don't worry, do this:
*#06# ( Note that down )
Now
*#272*(The number you've noted down)#
Choose csc from your region so KIES can uptade (WARNING**** CHANGING CSC WILL DO A FACTORY RESET)

Now what exactly should I do to make kies recognise my mobile?
or
Where can I get the csc file that makes kies recognise my mobile?
set csc is simpler then that you dial *#272*(Your IMEI number)#
Now chose the letters from your country!
IMEI -to know IMEI dial *#06#
Your Country Letter - Go here http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=1&t=1
ATENTION!!!!! Changing CSC will do a factory reset on your phone!!! Meaning ... All your stuff will be deleted!

Those images indicate that your device failed a model and product check before it allows the package to flash. Looks like it is checking for GT-I9100, GT-I9100T, or GT-I9100M. Check your model number under your battery. Is it for sure one of these models? Or something else?
model: GT-I9100
ssn: -I9100GSMH
I'm realy confused what the hell is wrong
you have the I9100G version as indicated by the ssn. I9100GSMH., to flash you need to go to the g subforum for firmware that will work with your phone.
You can not use international version firmware.

That's not true. SSN is not indicative of the model. MODEL is the model.
I have an I9100, (NOT a G) and my SSN is I9100GSMH. I think the G in the SSN is part of "GSM", indicating the cell tech maybe?

So it sounds like you don't have ADB. You probably need to download and install the Android SDK. (download that here)
Also sounds as if you should go over some of the basics: Galaxy SII Bible - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1473577

But as nil details of the upgrade file are posted its a guess .

because i can flash google apps in CWM but no roms. Then that error comes what i posted
It is obvious when you can flash a kernel, but you can't flash a ROM, because it can't properly read the NAND, but can flash a kernel. But you ask, why the kernel? Because flashing a kernel is a bit deeper than flashing a ROM. When you flash a kernel, you're changing/putting new instructions to the hardware, and when flashing a ROM, the instructions that are drewn are different and more "simple", so when flashing, ODIN will say "FAIL" instead of "PASS", or suddenly stopping the flash out of nowhere.

[Q] How to update to ICS?

Hello.
I have been a member since like 6 months. I purchased my Samsung Galaxy SII from Oman in the Middle East. I had rooted it a while back by flashing an insecure kernel. Now I can't seem to update to ICS, I tried flashing the original firmware back but still no luck with the update.
I would really like some help as to how to update to ICS now. And before you call me a noob I have researched how to do it every way possible so just wanted to get some feedback on the best way possible?
On all the ICS threads there is no ICS firmware for my PDA. So I just wanted to clarify if it's safe to flash a firmware with a different PDA?
If so which one is the best which will result in the least bugs (if those are avoidable that is )? Or should I skip this and just flash a JellyBean firmware? If so which one?
Im sorry for all the questions or if they seem very noobish but I have been searching all the threads and can't find a proper answer. If someone could help me it will be greatly appreciated .
My phone is a Samsung Galaxy SII ( I9100 )

My phone is a Samsung Galaxy SII ( I9100 )
PDA - I9100JPKJ2
PHONE - I9100XXKI4
CSC - I9100OJPKJ1
Thanks in advance.
And love the work you guys do here. Really awesome .

ICS update
Hey I checked that link but there is no ICS firmware for my PDA ( JPKJ2 ).
So what I basically wanted to clarify is that if it's safe or me to flash a firmware with a different PDA. Like the one you showed in the second link? And the jellybean flashing works fine? The firmware is stable?
Thanks in advance.

Why don't you flash ICS 4.0.3 for United Arab Emirates?
Here's the link.
It'll not be advisable to flash the leaked JellyBean, as it isn't very stable. Sometimes the home Launcher force-closes in JB and the lockscreen hangs. So use ICS for now. And it doesn't matter which PDA version you have on your phone... those versions keep changing as new ROMs are out. But don't forget to backup your data before flashing!
Cheers!:good:
Thanks a lot! Worked flawlessly .
Now to root it which method would be the best and easiest to follow? Or will any of them be fine?
Thanks .

1) Download View attachment CWM-SuperSU-v0.96.zip & View attachment recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.1.5-galaxys2.zip.
2) Transfer them to your phone's external memory card.
3) Go into stock android recovery by holding "vol up + home + power" buttons. You will see android system recovery 3e.
4) Use volume down button and choose option -"apply update from external storage". After that choose recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.1.5-galaxys2.zip . It will flash and automatically go into Clockworkmod recovery.
5) In CWM recovery, choose install zip (internal or external sdcard - try and see in which one you find it) and then flash CWM-SuperSU-v0.96.zip .
6) After that reboot your phone and you will have root!
PS: You can press the "Thanks" button below my posts if I helped you!

If you're on ICS, flash Siyah in .tar format directly through odin. Although there are more methods to root i find this every easy. Best of luck :good:

Usually when there is a zip file its for flashing via recovery mode, not unpacking it and flashing with odin... stupidity is what bricks phones

Oh ok. Cool I'll try one of these. I'm assuming the differences between them all are minor ones right?
Also one last question .
If I wanted to get Jellybean on my phone, do I have to first flash the Jellybean firmware on it or can I just flash one of the custom ROM's online?
Or do the custom ROM's need stock JB to be flashed on the phone first?
Thanks for all the help guys.

This is my first Android device. That's why I don't want it bricked. so I need step by step information.
Again I'm saying that I want my Samsung Galaxy S2 back to its original Ice Cream Sand witch form.
I mean I want it to be just like a newly brought Samsung Galaxy S2 from showroom.

Like i said there is a step by step guide in that thread.
Maybe if you can explain what you don't get, then i can help you futher.
After you flashed a samsung stock rom, dail this code *2767*3855# (this will preform a factory reset, everything will lost)
About the firmware: I don't think you have a carrier lock, so just take the newest firmware for your country.

You didn't tell me anything about " How to backup and restore, in case I brick my phone "
And oh yes !!!!!! after flashing I want it to be unrooted.
Actually, my phone is heating up, specially around the camera and upper Samsung logo. Thats why im switching it back to its original version. Maybe this is cause of the heating problem.
And thank you very much.

if you flash the firmware using odin, root will be removed. before you do this activity read more on flashing this will help you avoid bricking your device. after flashing the firmware via odin and if you are stuck in samsung logo, just reboot the device in recovery mode and do factory reset/wipe and then reboot it should be fine.
