Does anyone know if you can do the radicomm hotspot hack in cyanogen.
Radiocomm doesnt detect the phone well and computer kicks back driver installation error for "MTP usb driver"
Can anyone shed light on getting the TBH hack to work with droid x2.
Using stock blur I was able to hotspot without issues. Once I upgraded to cyanogen and used stock hotspot it keeps comming to a page pressing me to pay for hotspot services.
I talked to Dragonkiller a few days ago and he said you have to do the Radiocomm hack BEFORE flashing Cyangenmod and every time after an SBF. Btw what version of Radiocomm do you have?

btw I have my droid flashed to cricket wireless. will an sbf wipe my flash to another carrier. if the sbf erases the radio edits im assuming it will. can i go back to stock without an sbf? I have some nandroid from motos stock blur setup can i restore those in clockwork change the settings and then procede to flash cyanogen from scratch. then restore nand backup

I'm not sure since I've never flashed any device to work on another network, but I'd assume an SBF(Since the only sbf I know of has Verizon in the title) would set you back on Verizon's network.
Please be aware that I'm NOT 100% sure about this, but
I'm guessing the cricket wireless flash just edits the radio number in 8040 to a number that work for their network. So if you nand back to a stock 2.3.4 that works on cricket wireless then edit 8041,8042 and 8043 then proceed to flash CM7 it should work.
I'd do some more research online and/or wait till more experienced members view this thread.
If you can't find any info/help and choose to try the nand thing well it's a good thing you have backup just in case!!!!
got it back to stock. oddly enough all string 8040- 8043 are already the same? But tether gets picked up if I set up a hot spot? Anyone shed some light

if you Answer are NO
and YES
this is the way to do it follow this link and you need a PC and your phone attached to it by USB:
"http://direct.motorola.com/hellomoto/motosupport/source/SoftwareUpdateSummary.asp?country=USA&language=ENS&web_page_name=SUPPORT&strCarrierId=ATT&strPhone=Motorola%20ATRIX%28TM%29%204G&strCable=Micro%20USB%20Data%20Cable&strURL=https://rsddownload.motorola.com/download/SoftwareUpdateforATTATRIX4Gversion.4.5.91.pdf"
I believe i just rooted it with gingerbreak but then i followed this tutorial: http://atrix4ghacks.com/atrix-4g-hacks/how-to-enable-webtop-without-laptopusb-dock/
it edited my webtop stuff so how do i fix it so i can update
lol don't panic! (....I have a towel =D)
You just entered the recovery menu. To see the error message, you need to un-hide it by touching the screen on the bottom right corner (right above the search button). This will show you what error you encountered.
If you're OTAing up, then you probably had Titanium or something that removed bloatware or modded the system with a theme or custom files. If that's the case, any OTA will fail because you will not have passed the pre-install check. You have three options:
1.) Go here and get the Automated Upgrade for PC Users. That will allow you to upgrade and bypass the test, while also keeping your data. This doesn't require any mods or unlocked bootloaders. (BE WARNED THAT IF YOU USE THIS, YOUR BOOTLOADER WILL BE BLOWN. DON'T DOWNGRADE WITH SBFs AND STICK TO EATING YOUR FRUITCAKE! However, Radio and Bootloader SBFs are still considered safe. As any wise man would do, proceed with caution.)
OR
2.) Unlock your bootloader, install CWM from Tenfar, and then get KP's 2.3.4 ROM Beta 4 and put it in your SD card. Boot up CWM and install it. That easy. =] (BE WARNED SOME PEOPLE BRICKED THIS WAY.)
ORRRRRR
3.) Using the fastboot from Motorola and unlocking your bootloader, just flash the images here. (Currently the best method and seems to produce the best results, but if you don't know how to do it, then don't do it.)
If you need instructions on how to do any of the above, use this noob bible. And lastly, if you want to root, use the preinstall method (also in bible.)
Happy upgrading!

I had the same problem and also had only used gingerbreak and webtop mod. I tried using pc update software but it thought I was on orange france (mine is AT&T) so I didn't proceed. Decided to flash the gingerbread plus pudding sbf in pudding thread, worked perfect and kept all data, you don't need to unlock bootloader before updating
Same problem
I'm having the exact same problem.
Except my bootloader is unlocked.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
So,
For the longest time I had a combination of Voodoo Kernel and Super Franken Clean or Super clean 2.2 or some combination of names like that on my Fascinate.
I got the itch to install CM7 because I wanted Gingerbread and the new interface so I followed the Wiki and used Heimdall to install the new Clockwork Recovery 4.0 and then installed CM7.
Everything seemed alright until stuff started going wrong.
I think the file system is wrong for what im using now, because there are like, stray bits of information from my old build, applications are not installing correctly, my sms app opens and closes itself, my context menus press their own buttons etc etc etc. Its a mess.
What is the best way to completely wipe this phone and start fresh with a new partition that is appropriate for CM7.
Right now when it boots into recovery it says it cant access the cache, it cant open or format the system, it cant do anything wipe, format, etc...
What do I do?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1053567
That post doesn't have links to the necessary files.
Where do I get em?
Thats what happens when you dont read up on what your trying to do. you should of odin back to a stock package w/ atlas2.2 pit and repartition checked.
Here is great write up: Just replace vgb with cm7...this guide works for all mtd roms.

So get this...
I couldnt get the phantom button presses to stop, so I called Verizon and discussed the situation with them, they sent me a new Fascinate.
I got the new phone, instead of doing the process reccomended above but with CM7, I did it verbatim from the instructions.
Everything was A-OK for 24 hours.
Just now I open up Handcent messaging, damn thing is doing the same thing as the old broken phone, except this one is brand new. Any application I open, it hits the back button and exits out of the app.
What the hell is going on here?
If I use Odin to restore the phone to stock 2.2 it runs flawlessly.
Is there a step i'm missing that is causing this to happen because its really annoying.
Also, the Plain Vanilla GB rom thats linked in above in those instructions is missing a few critical features for the Fascinate.
The LED flash doesn't work, period.
and the proximity sensor doesn't work either, so if you want to hang up a phone call you have to hit the power button, then hang up.
I'd go back to CM7 but that will probably have the same phantom button pressing issue as VGB.
those are common issues in the rom(s) itself. If you dont like or cant deal with those issues flash a different rom. I suggest giving power washed eh09 gingerbread w/ tksgb kernal a try.
To be honest, I am confused...
I have an Atrix that I just got a few days ago and its running CM7 (4.5.91 or whatever that is)
And I just wanna revert back to stock. Im gonna install "fruitcake" in just a minute but i'd rather just have a STOCK phone.
I looked into it and couldn't make up how to do it after reading.
Any help is appreciated. Just point me to a guide on how to do it or direct me.
Thanks,.. Seriously
Jhoopes517
first of all, 4.5.91 is the MOTOBlur versioning, not CM7....they are 2 completely different things.
secondly, fruitcakes is stock. not really sure what you are looking for....

When I go to settings on the phone and I scroll down to the bottom and look at system version, its on "4.5.91" BUT I know for a fact its running CM7
Fruitcake is Stock, BUT I want the phone to be fully reset to stock. No Custom Recovery, No Unlocked Bootloader. None of it.

thats too bad. once you have unlocked the bootloader there is no going back. once unlocked, always unlocked
what is the reason for wanting to get rid of everything? you can run a stock rom with the bootloader unlocked and custom recovery. those things do not inhibit or reduce functionality at all.
Not to doubt you, but exactly how are you convinced that you are running cm7? If you are showing 4.5.91 as system version then you are most definitely not on cm7.
Its the build #

you should have bought a new phone =P you're unlocked for life. not that it will affect you in any way if you choose not to use it.
Before downloading the AIO toolkit I was already unlocked, so i skipped the first 6 steps. everything seemed fine, I was already using Amon Ra 3.14. With the toolkit I did a few things, flash the different recoveries just to see how they looked and worked, ended up back to amon Ra, then I used the debloater and all of the sudden I noticed I wasn't getting any service. I'm hoping this is a verizon thing but I haven't found anything about any outages. since then I've been trying different stuff from flashing kernals, to restoring my nanbackup. so far no luck. Has anyone else been experiencing any issues like this?
something I did notice on verizon website when i went to go into there support forums they were down for maintance. not sure how or why this would affect phone service tho.

If you're not getting ANY service at all (even regular cell service) I would be worried.
Getting no cell service.... every now and then I will get 1 bar but it never shows a 1x or 3g or 4g. and it wont make a call. Right now I'm trying to do RUU back to stock to see if that fixes it.

Make sure you re-lock before you do. Just mentionin. This could be the best thing you could is to RUU back.
Problem fixed, I feel like an idiot. I have my back cover off, not knowing it was the antenna.

It happens.
I was on the ics leak and rsd back to.173. A friend just purchased a new maxx and his base band shows an lte radio and mine does not. I used RAZR utility. Any ideas? We are getting lte soon and would love to use it but have no way to confirm currently
you wont be connecting to LTE if you don't have the base band. use the following rsd utility and and flashable file to restore the baseband.
it will wipe your phone clean.

This is what I'm working with. I frozen an amount of apps but they should keep me from having a 4g base band.
I used a utility to restore from the ics leak and thought it installed everything. My phone is setup exactly like I want right now. Is there no way to just fast boot the 4g back in without wiping? I guess its what I will have to do but damn.
the utility is not able to install the lte radio at times. rsd does that without problem. as far as i know there is no other way. you would also see that phone takes lot of time to catch the signal if you restart it. this will be fixed after the restore using rsd.
so if you want to use LTE you would need to reflash it using the above two files.
I will do this tonight. You are right. It takes a really long time to catch a signal. I thought i used full rsd via the utility I downloaded on my laptop. I will do it by your links and get it up and going
Hey if I found the 6.12.173 update do you think I could just flash it from stock recovery? Longshot. Worst case I'm guess it it will fail to install. Just trying.g to do it from work w no laptop
i don't think it will work. its missing the file which needs to be update(in this case its the lte radio)
Wow. It worked! Feels awesome. Lost no data. Worked perfect!
Before
Flashed thru stock recovery and temp uprooted via ota rootkeeper
After
Sweet!
