for some reason my nexus one has a small red mark on the screen. The red mark only shows on a black wallpaper and not on any of the others i checked for dead pixels or stuck pixels there are none. I tried taking a photo and a screenshot to check if it will show on the picture and the result was negative it did not show.
Does anyone have any idea what this could be? after several days of searching the closest answer i could find to this problem is this thread here
Solutions i have tried so far are:
1) changing HBOOT from stock to custom and custom to stock
2) flashing different roms
3) factory reset
4) display checkers
5) photos and screenshots
any kind of help would be great
Well, if it doesn't show on a screenshot, you're looking at a low level hardware issue, or burn in on the display.
Either way, service center, as the previous poster said.
Alternatively, you could look in to replacing the screen itself (It's most likely the screen itself and not the graphics chip *most likely*) on your own, or through a third party.
If you're under warranty though, service center all the way.
thanks for your replies i will try to get my hands on another screen and see if the problem will be fixed

It even is skewed red during the Viewsonic boot screen. At first I thought it was a fancy low-power warning because it occurred last night when the battery hit 15%. But a full charge and a reboot didn't fix it. Neither did booting into the loader and resetting my battery statistics. Other than the horrible screen coloring it works just fine.
I searched the forums and found a number of people with green-hued screens but nobody complaining about red. Am I looking at RMA-ville?
Is it red-hued on every screen such as the recovery menu? If every single menu screen is that way & a factory reset or NVFlash or reflashing a new rom doesn't fix the issue, I would venture to say it's a faulty screen.
try the "Love Tap"
I remember reading this thread a couple of days ago http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=878624&page=2
some people were apparently experiencing a blank white screen which was being caused by a loose connecter in the tablet.
Check post #20 on the thread I linked and someone even posted a picture of it.
Your issue *might* be related to this and thus I would suggest trying the "Love Tap" method.
Just hit the damn thing a couple of times near the bottom right corner and hope you get lucky.
Same issue
Had the same red hue issue with my G-Tab. At first it was just if I held it a certain way or put pressure on specific areas. It got progressively worse to where I had to hold it or put pressure on one area of the back or screen to get it to go away. Contacted Viewsonic customer support, they issued an RMA. I just got the repaired tab back today. No surprise, but it's been reflashed with Tap-n-tap. I guess that gives me an excuse to try the new release of Vegan or maybe cm7.

I just had the same problem with the red hued screen and did the "love tap" on the right hand corner and it did the trick and now I have the normal black background. What a great site!
I have noticed some horizontal lines running through the screen on my S2 when light images are displayed. (Also shows on green test screen quite clearly)
They are light bands about 1mm wide and running across my screen at various points.
There is also slight burn in of my status bar, you can see battery and clock if you look hard.
Just wondering if this is a normal occurrence and something to put up with or if it's worth me getting it replaced under warranty.
If I return it and then in 4 months time the same happens it's pointless. Also I would hate to return the phone for screen replacement and then get another screen with maybe a dead pixel or something.
Any help is very much appreciated.
Thank you
can no one help......?

Send it to repair centre, it's definitely a faulty unit.
Your repaired/replaced phone will not have repeated issues.
My phone is a year already, and everything is still prefect
Swyped from my Samsung Galaxy SII
Hello.
I've been using my I9305 a while now with a 4.4 OMNIROM.
Everything was fine until I let my girlfriend borrow it to use the gps for a trip.
She returned it and I noticed the colors are strange. All the blacks went greyish, and gradient colors werent smooth but showed artifacts.
I thought it was a setting but after factory resetting/wiping everything/changing rom the phone still has strange colors, even the green boot android icon seems abit light.
Here are some screenshots showing the same pictures on my phone (the samsung) and a functional HTC. You can see the artifacts and the distorted blacks.

Is it possible she dropped it and damaged the screen/matrix?
Is it possible that some connector to the lcd/digitizer got slightly disconnected? (maybe i should try disassambling)
She used several apps (tomtom, navigon) that have nightmode (screen altering modes), maybe its stuck or damaged.
Please help

Seems like a hardware problem to me. I would try and watch lcd replacement videos to see if the screen is correctly plugged to the motherboard.
hi just got my lg g5 and i always do a dead pixel check ect and i have noticed a wired mark which only shows up on the black image setting not any of the other colors its like a red/blueish mark its hard to explane its as if the bonding glue hasn't fully cured or something
question is does anyone know what it could be and is it worth replacing only asking as the rest of the phone is perfect (which is lucky from what ive read for a g5)
and only seem to be able to see it through a plane black image and max brightness otherwise you cannot see it
when the misuses is home ill try take a pic
thanks
(UPDATE: Here is a link to a short video of my issue: https://youtu.be/YqKW3tU4Fhw)
So I cant seem to find ANY info relating to this issue aside from results for the LG G4, but the solutions for said phone are all over the place. Some are bad screen, some are related to sim tray, some are related to water damage and battery etc. So basically, about a month after buying this phone (KIW-L24 US version), the screen started to artifact and flash in and out randomly. There is nothing that seems to trigger it. I have set the phone down on a table while on the homescreen and watched the lightshow. It is basically a mixture of the problems seen in these videos (Feat. LG G4).
https://youtu.be/gAUkXLR7eQI And https://youtu.be/QstOH66pfiU.
Symptoms:
Screen will randomly start to flicker and fade in and out. I will also get crazy artifacting lines. (Think de-gaussing an old CRT monitor or simillar to what is seen in the second video)
If i see the problems happening, locking the phone and unlocking again will sometimes fix it temporarily. Other times the problem continues after i turn the screen back on.
Sometimes the screen will refuse to come back on. The backlight turns on, and the digitizer responds, but the screen is still black. Making sure the screen really is off, I can come back to the phone a few minutes later and it will turn on. Other times ill have to hard reset the phone (hold power button 10 sec) and it usually brings the screen back to life.
Background:
I bought the phone "used - Like New" from amazon. It came with all the original accessories and even still had the film protector on the back of the phone. I may have noticed these problems after I received the phone, but they really only started to show about a month after purchase.
At first I though it could be software related as I was running CM13 and something could have been corrupted, so i did not just a factory restore, but a full reflash. This didn't solve the issue. Restarting my phone and the reflash did help, but the problem returned. The inability to turn the screen on persists through a reset and I have to wait till the phone boots again to get the screen back. Sometimes takes more than one reboot. This pretty much confirms a hardware issue right? If i put the phone on a black screen, i can see three small fuzzy "dots" in a triangle shape in the top left quadrant. Could the screen have been damaged by whoever owned it before returning it? They are not dead pixels per se, but seems more like areas where the backlight is showing through ever so slightly more. Not visible unless you are on a black screen in a dark room. Ill upload a video showing some of the issues. Any help is appreciated!
im afraid you need a new display brodar...
Seems to be hardware issue. You can visit the nearest service center to get it fixed for few bucks if you don't have warranty.
Yeah that's what i figured, i just needed conformation. I was able to get amazon to take the return even though I was out of the return period. So at least ill be able to get a refund. Ill just pay the extra for a new one this time haha.
One question : Do u have over heat problem with ur phone ?? If u feel ur phone is more than work from the back dont replace . U'll damage the new screen also . Some ppl erported over heat cpu issue with honor ! ;.

Try moving to stock once , if it fixed stick to it for few days . 99% of possible cases for hardware issue .
So better request for a replacement from huawei . but don't mention them that u bought it used . tell them u bought it new
