When I charge the phone, when the green led shows (meaning full charge), I only have 91%.
What can I do to fix this ? Thanks
All androids do that, the led goes green at 90% then continues to charge to 100% then it will allow itself to discharge to 90 then back up to 100.
Sent from my LT26i using XDA
My Desire doesn't do that, green led shows when reaching 100%.
Also, in service menu, Battery Health test shows 1750000 mAh, but Battery test shows only 1500 mAh. I guess it's psychological but it's weird. Which one should I believe ?
The service menu.
Some people are reporting lower battery values so you're kinda lucky.

AFAIR The Desire changed to green when full, but then did the same -/+10% cycle
In service menu says uAh not mAh.
Look better next time.

Yeah whatever. 1500(000) is still different than 1750(000) m(µ)Ah.
If you know what I mean...
Yea sorry for miss understanding.
It might be some kind of bug.
We should report that to sony.
I have 1750 mAh in every test or service menu, once more sorry

Maybe someone with good knowledge can explain why this:
# system props for Battery test in Service menu
ro.semc.batt.capacity=1500
ro.semc.batt.test.z_threshold=50
ro.semc.batt.test.min_level=70
This in the build.prop maybe it should be 1750 instead 1500???
I remember it's the same 1500 in x10 build.prop and x10 have1500mAH battery capacity .
Anyway I will try to change it to 1750 maybe the battery improve more

1500 or 1750 is not really important (well, a bit) I still have 4201 mV when fully charged, which I think is good.
And I tried starting a battery test, it told me to plug charger, charged till 100% but never started
=> (%) Trigger level : -1
or something like that, don't remember the exact line (it's the 1st line) and don't have the phone near me.
@electrash : No problem

There was a thread mentioning about the issue. Many have reported that doing a hard reset (read as re-starting of the phone) fixed the issue. May be you can also give a try.
Hold the power button and volume up key until your phone power off and continue to hold until you feel three vibration. Then release and press the power button to start the phone.
Nope, already tried this, still showing 1500 mAh in Battery test (health test shows the correct value, 1750000 µAh).
Ah well, nevermind, as long as the voltage is good and battery lasts at least a day, I'm OK with this

forgot to mention i'm running [Rom]Wanam v3.2 at that time, currently on v3.4, the dark extended areas is me at work where i turn airplane mode on due to serious bad reception at work... sync is on rest of the time for gmail/whatsapp/kakao other than that manual updates on twit and some news apps...
u can see the first jump in the first pic, that was due to me exchanging with 1st spare battery( got 4 + original batt= total of 5)
i dont know if its the phone and exchanging batteries thats causing such high battery losses at the end of the battery life...
plus yesterday and the day before battery goes crazy when it reaches 30-20% and when i go for a restart to freshen things up... the phone wont switch on thinking the battery is totally dead... i put in the new battery and its @ 100% ... switch back to the old battery to see where the 30-20% went... it wont start...
now im thinking... keeping 1 battery in the phone with a charge from 0-100% actually takes the phone all the way to 0% but exchanging the battery wont...
how am i supposed to use the full potential of the batteries...

been using this app since my old sgs, it sure works and have been using it ever since...
tho in the [Rom]Wanam ... install procedure says that its backing up the battery stats and this lead me to think that a batt calibration is not needed... or am i wrong to think so?
If you change batteries, all previous data will be irrelevant, and you need to calibrate each time. You can do things manually by installing battery monitor widget, charge to 100% AND until the mA reaches zero (Voltage spills be approx 4200mV). At this point, quickly delete battery stats (menu / stats /) and immediately unplug.
https://market.android.com/details?id=ccc71.bmw
Top help with monitoring, You can config the update rate and widget content so it shows mA, %, mV. Also have alarm when stops charging (if configured).
There is also an option for calibration, but I only use this method when done above first. Never discharge to zero, 1% min.

Thing is, what's the use of having spare batteries if this will happen on each battery swap and having to go thru calibration means having a charger nearby...
and by 0% i didnt actually mean 0 but till that 1% turned the phone off
if what u said is true, then i guess i need some kind of script to help and keep the batt data even after swapping.. based on 1 good calibrated file swapping batteries should start from a certain point even if the batteries do lose some of their charge but continue to moniter things as they were... i dunno if what i said makes sense... correct me if i'm wrong
Not really 100% sure, but sure I have not always calibrated after a battery swap in the dhd..The previous battery was calibrated and performing well, and the replacement would have been very close to 100% charge. I didn't notice any irregularities in the battery data, or battery drain.
So I suppose a good bat stats file should help the phone showing relatively "accurate" data after a battery swap, if they're both "conditioned" (gone through a number of charging cycles, not straight out of thre box)
Maybe I could be wrong, but based on past experience.

i'm already using it steve, thanx for the helpful info ^_^ , tho it has nothing to do with my strange problem... before going to work i switch to 2g coz i mainly use it for calls so after work is done, i wanna have fun with the phone so its back to 3g... i hardly have reception as i mentioned before is due to really thick walls and working underground in some rooms... its just common sense... plus im on latest modem and its actually performing better than other phones (nokia,BB,moto,iphones....) at where i work, 5 guys got convinced and got a sgs2 coz of mine lol
My phone drains the battery very quickly from 100% to 1% but after reaching 1% it can be used for hours.Last time after the full charge battery dropped from 100-1% in about 2 1/2 hours of use on WiFi but after that it lasted for more than 13 hours on 1% but the Network data, Bluetooth and WiFi was off.
Currently i am running CM7 stable (battery fix is also applied) i was also facing such issues on the stock 2.3.4.
maybe a battery re-calibration can solve this issue?

I bought my Atrix 3 weeks ago. My previous device was also another Motorola, Milestone.
When I first started to use Atrix I found that the battery was draining so quickly even I didn’t install any apps yet. It was becoming 1% in 70 minutes with full display and running default apps.
I tried to full battery several times, did factory resets and finally went back to shop. The shop replaced the battery with another new one.
Still it happened same problem. Then they changed my device with another new one. It was same, too.
I would give it back to shop but last time I decided to discharge it until it turns off.
At this point I found that discharging takes long time after it became 1%. For example by heavy using it becomes 1% in 70 minutes, then it takes at least 200 minutes more even I watch videos via Youtube, play games etc.. It means in total it takes at least 4,5 hours with full display and heavy usage. That’s OK for me as battery life.
But I want my battery meter show correct percentage. Then I can be able to know when it will turn off.
I tried battery calibration several times. I search a lot about this problem but found nothing. Probably people thinks that their battery life is too short.
So cannot find solution.
Summary: My Atrix’s battery meter immediately drop to 1% and then runs 3 times longer than previous 99%. PLEASE HELP ME TO CORRECT MY BATTERY METER DISPLAY.
Do you think that your battery fix way helps me?

I don't know. I bought it, and unlocked it directly, then flash CM7 Rom, but noticed that the battery drain very fast. However, after the indicator becomes 1%, I can still use rather a long time. I thought it was an error on battery meter, but I can't make it display correctly through calibration.
Now if the battery is fully charged, I can still use rather a long time after the indicator becomes 1%. But after the battery drained, it can't be charged completely. It really disappoints me very much.

Ya that's the same problem i have i think its something to do with phone recognizing the mah capacity of the battery if u can see the charge-full-design in sys/class/power-supply/battery/charge-full-design u will notice it showing only 500 which should be 1880 that's why our phone drops and charge quickly according the capacity its getting from charge-full-design.
This value can be changed on other phone but for Motorola i have not found any tutorial or app to do so

And for charging don't take off the phone from charging on 100% bcoz when the phone battery meter is showing 100% its battery mv is less than 3900mv and if u keep it on charge after 100% battery mv value will gradually go up to 4200mv which is the actual capacity of the battery.

Oh, thanks. The value in sys/class/power-supply/battery/charge-full-design is just a result, representing the battery statue. So the key is that the battery capacity can't be recognized correctly by the phone. I just test another battery, and the value 1880!
But the former battery doesn't look like a fake one. Actually, I bought them together. I can't understand.
i just got this phone a few days ago. i love it. nothing wrong with it.
super fast and everything. im on 2.3.6. no issues. my battery lasts 12 hours easy. and actually up to 26 hours so far.
i dont even feel the need for a custom rom. at least not for now.
but one thing that makes me mad is how slow the phone charges, anyone know why this is ? it's kinda frustrating lol
any way to change this ?
also....i kinda hate that there is no camera button on the actual phone. oh well.

If I remember correctly waiting till the battery is completely depleted is not a good thing for our batteries.
i never said completely depleted though.
and yea ive read so many reviews to not do that, and reviews that say you should... and reviews to charge it this much and that much and blah blah. may be a new phone, but none of this is new to me.
Charge current is hardware limited from what I've read. Or atleast for the time being. If your using the phone while charging it'll be significantly slower. Also using wallplug makes a difference. If you've got stuff running while charging try throttling down the CPU while charging.
Other than that I think our phone is limited to 650mah to charge. So 1650/650 is about 2.5 hours with perfect efficiency. Now take into account the power being drawn and how the chargers for li batteries work, that's about 3-4 hrs to be expected.
And don't run li batteries all the way down on a regular basis, its not good. I'm not positive on li ion batteries, but with lipo you generally want to use about %80 of rated capacity to prolong life and power of the cell.
400 mA on USB, 650 on a wall charger, CPU/screen usage counts against these limits - no way to change this
Forgot where I read it. Could be wrong too.
Slow charging for this phone was samsungs way of keeping our phones battery in shape. Hopefully prolonging the life of it. I noticed my 3GS lose about 20% of its full capacity in a couple years. Only time will tell?
Siyah has an option to upping the charging mA I believe.

i dont use it when it charges and yea it does take about 4 hours to charge.

If you are on Entropy's DD kernel you should divide that number by 2.85
Battery charge current monitoring (CurrentWidget) support - only reports charge current and not discharge, and reports a value 2.85 times the actual current. Use CurrentWidget's "operation on value" to divide by 2.85.

Hi all,
I just got my Xperia S two days ago and love it so far. One question about the battery though, this morning I woke up to find that the phone battery is at 49% after a whole night's charging. The battery usage graph shows that there was a sudden drop to 0% in the middle of the night and then slowly charged back up.
It apparently also rebooted as all of the background apps I left running before I went to bed are now gone.
Phone is unrooted and is running stock CE .73 ROM.
Could this be a battery issue? Or is it just some random "known" issue of Android's in general? I I can't seem to find any relevant post in the forum on this topic (excpet this one - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1552250 - with no answer provided) so please excuse me if it's already been answered elsewhere - in that case, a point to the right direction would be very much appreciated.
Thank you all in advance.
It seems that one of your apps has freeze the phone, and the battery discharged then the phone rebooted when reached 0%

Thanks! I didn't know that.
Also thanks to all that have replied. I checked the service menu as mentioned above, the battery status says "good" and mhA @ 175000 as it's supposed to; so as far as I can tell, everything is as normal as it can be.
I've been able to use the phone normally on a daily basis since the drop-to-zero last weekend. Apart from 2 reboots - which I'm troubleshooting now by constantly saving logs to the SD Card - all's well.
If anyone has any other input, I'd be very much appreciated.

what i would do?
thanks and sorry about my bad english.
Well you said your battery has 2200 mAh. Im looking right now my wt19 original battery and it says it's just 1200 mAh so there u got one reason why your battery is overheating. More energy = more heat. My phone just got to like 45 C° if im charging it while hard-using it at the same time but 55-60? the phone seriously has a hard time recognizing and adapting to the new "fake" battery. If problem keeps try to get a new original battery i don't know how much problems at future can bring using a higher voltage battery
