Xperia S firmware 6.0.A.3.73 India - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hi anyone from India who had got this update to xperia s
Sent from my MT11i using XDA

There was a thread made about it this morning asking the very same question...no one replied, so I think you can take the hint that there isn't one.
If there was, it would probably be posted in the developer section, or even in your extensive India thread. No need to make multiple threads.

Yes, you can flash over a different country.
Those SI or customisation numbers. Each of the country plus the operators have different numbers to identify the products. The firmware updates are based on this numbers.
There are few threads in the development section on what you needs to know. Read them, understand them before you starting with anything.
Happy reading and flashing .

[STOCK] [EUR] S5830XEOKP2 - 2.3.4 official

There is new ROM on samfirmware.com for Samgung Galaxy Ace owners. It's official and European version.
As always, you can check it here
or download directly here
i think stock rom should go in general subforum

Can any moderator please move this topic to that forum please. My mistake
Reported :/
How is it new though? KPT exists since some weeks if I'm not mistaken. And why does it say 2.3.4 when it's actually 2.3.3?
Its the CSC version I guess, but its from S5830XWKPT, which is 2.3.4.
Anyone using this version?
It say Europa but anyone know what languages it is? Swedish? Is it really official or leaked?

All European fw's have the same language options afaik but whats different is for what zone the fw's aimed at for specific apps and apn info

OK I see and for what zone is this one?
I still dont know how to read the lettercodes.....making no sense to me even after reading at samfirmware...
I answer it myself..........installed it and it was polish as first language after boot.
XEOKP2 - The XEO is assigned to Poland.
[STOCK] [EUR] S5830XEOKP2 - 2.3.4 official is fake
I tried it.
It is not 2.3.4, just 2.3.3.
It is however a nice release, and got rid of the operator's restriction for me.
It is a European multi language release.
It is working fine so far. The only thing to comment about it is that it comes with a couple of polish apps that are in polish (TV, etc...) But they can be removed installing some tools.

[Q] Which Firmware do I need?

Hello dear XDA community,
I used litening Rom now for a while and I think you all make a good job in this forum.
The problem is, I forgot to look which firmware I had before I flashed my device (idiot). Now I want to flash the stock firmware on my device but I dont know which one I need. Is there a way to find out, which Firmware I had before I flashed my device?
My friend bought the same device on the same day and the same market and he has now ( after the update) this firmware: XXKI1
Can I use the same one?
Regards,
Anil.
Dont worry i did the same thing when i first rooted my phone..Forgot to bloody back it up. Anyway click on the link and you will have a guide with firmware how to flash it and what regions there from.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
First, Thank you. Second: But how about the warranty. I mean if samsung see that the firmware is not that firmware which it should be, I will lost my warranty. And where is XXKI1 in the list? I cant find it.
first if you scroll down you can see in big bright red letters this announcement in the thread
All packages below this point have the old bootloader so you can safely reset the binary counter with a Jig.
so i will be honest i have not heard of KI2 firmware...how long ago did you buy your handset? what region are you from? take that all into consideration choose the area you are from and flash away.. and trust me as long as your on stock firmware and reset your counter with the jig you are fine..no worries nothing....so flash back to official use the jig and bam..and thats it your official and stocked again
Sorry I mean XWKI4. That was the firmware. You said I should look when I bought the product. Is that the build date, like in the stock rom list, because I cant find any other informations in the list that country and build date?

hi there!
i made the same mistake by flashing a new firmware on my sgs2 with odin and i was silly enough to not write down the version that was installed before.. now i have a fw with the telecom brand. that fw works fine so far but i want to have the original back if that is possible.
so i looked up ur link and found that i need a fw with the letters XX.
but there are a few fw's with XX
which one should i use?

[Q] Noob question about firmwares

Hi guys,
This may be an absolute stupid question about firmwares but I don't understand why some people are able to updated to 2.3.4 or even 2.3.5 whereas my O2 branded handset is so far behind and is only on 2.3.3 and KE7
Anyone know why and how these firmware gets rolled out to different phones/providers?
Different firmwares for different regions. You can always flash a firmware of different region which may be 2.3.5, when your country/carrier might not have the latest one available.
Like, I am in India, using KI4 2.3.5, which is an European ROM as my country doesn't have the latest ROM available yet, officially.

I'm afraid if you want to wait for official O2 updates via Kies then you'll be in for a long wait my friend.
If you want the latest and greatest firmwares then I would suggest you read the 1st 3 posts of Intratech's thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278.
Then read them again and then read them again! It's not as complicated as some make out.
Then decide if you want to take the plunge and take control of your own updates using Odin. I was a total noob and did it and I now now flash the latest firmware as soon as the legend that is Intratech posts them.
You can also get rid of the O2 branding if you want to.
Alternatively you can get the latest O2 branded firmware from Intratech's thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113928 but that's so far behind it's almost embarassing.

Thanks for that, I used to have it updating via Odin but decided to go back to the Kies route to wait for the official upgrades. Silly move by me.
I'll update it to 2.3.5 tonight - thanks
It'll be like having a new phone coming from KE7.
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks

HELP Updating GT-i9300

Hey guys, I am new to the S3 and Andriod as I used to be an iPhone user before. I bought a GT-i9300 from Hong Kong and brought it back to Canada and cant seem to get any software updates. I am currently sitting at build number I9300ZSALG3, just wondering if anyone could help me out doing an OTA update or via Kies or if this is the latest version. My baseband version is I9300XXLG3

Your firmware is from Taiwan..and for it the latest version is what you are currently using..however you dont need to wait for updates you can download firmware for United Kingdom the latest is I9300XXBLG8..you can download it from here..
http://samsung-updates.com/get/58/Samsung_Firmware_GT-I9300_BTU_I9300XXBLG8_Android_4_0_4.html
then flash it via odin...search these threads for the method to do so..
Hi man, Unlike iphone, offical rom is always the worst one.It usually uses more memory and have bad battery management. You can try another rom such as mike's.

Thank you! I am not too familiar with flashing with Android again because it is something new and if anything were to happen I wouldn't know how to fix it since I have been an iPhone user. Is flashing firmware any different from jailbreaking the iPhone? - in terms of being safer. Also, how can I be 100% sure that the UK version will work on my phone as well as keep my unlock.

Flashing the firmware is 100% safe if you follow the steps..it does not root your phone so it is not jailbreaking...so you will also not loose your warranty...
the firmwares are almost the same for every region, samsung being an a***le released different firmwares for different regions with different CSC....
but i am quite sure it will work on you region as you are already using Taiwan firmware in Canada...in any case download the Taiwan specific firmware also..so if anything goes wrong you can revert back...
by the way I am in India using BTU firmware..
Me too...
Along the same lines, I have an I-9300 sgs3 with South Africa firmware (XFE), i9300xxale9, but I'm using it in the United States, on AT&T, and am not able to receive updates thru either Kies or Update menu. I will NOT be traveling outside the US anytime soon. What should I load that would let me receive updates here in the States OTA?
