basically from what I can tell it is cm9, aokp, and some miui rolled into one I had to restore since I needed fully functioning phone for work but was for sure worth a flash even with what is broke
MIUI/ICS for the Photon
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1536161

flashed it this morning. it was excellent. only reason I restored was because I couldnt recieve MMS. tried setting up the APNs and that didn't work. and ofcourse we already know about the camera. I also missed the sms app from miui. if someone
wanted to port that sms app to cm9, I'd pay for it. or tell me how to do it, that would work too...

Guys
I so wanna use this ROM, but i cannot ge my APN settings saved?
I factory resetted, i wiped, and tried
Fastboot -w
Nothing works, after i save my APN, its not saving, and there is no APN displayed?
How can i get past this?
Thanks alot!
I had this issue as well. I noticed that after switching Select Operator from Automatic to manual, and selecting your desired network, that the issue was fixed. Just takes a minute or two to kick in after a reboot.

Not sure, this is the only ROM i get this on, even tried 2 different kernels......
Back to CM7
The most stable ROM I've seen, so far, is Nottach's Wet Dream 1.4.3 FullBlur. Works well signal-wise especially when you live out in BFE.

cm9 ICS beta android 4.0 bugs

Hi all,
I've posted a couple times before on getting the wifi working on stock Moto android for the photon, I cannot reply on the dev forum discussing this cm9 rom as I'm allegedly less than 10 posts or something.
Each time I boot up with aeroplane mode off (so all network stuff is on) com.android.phone crashes and I just have to press ok, it happens again each time I enable then disable aeroplane mode or type *#*#4636#*#* and turn off then on the radio.
I cannot get any mobile connection, I think the radio cannot turn on as the GSM service is "radio off".
Any ideas on how I should troubleshoot, I think loads of people have the issue but the recommended fix does not work for me (and others).
The recommended fix is to edit /system/build.prop and change ro.telephony.default_network from 7 to 0 and this does not work for me (editing it with root explorer).
I understand that it changes the network type to WCDMA prefered (I think that is another name for UMTS). One can also change the prefered network using the above code in the dialer and scrolling down to just above the button to turn the radio off/on.
Any ideas?
Update:
Sorry for taking ages to reply, seems like most people using the mopho are on Sprint using CDMA and so don't have issues, I'm in Australia on Vodafone so use GSM(2G)/WCDMA (3G).
I got this working ages ago and after a few version changes, I'm now on beta 0.4.5.1 as camera would freeze after taking a picture (including freezing the camera system so face unlock stopped) on beta 0.4.4.
Yes, reflashing rom after editing ro.telephony.default_network to 0 does fix it, but one does not have to reflash, just reboot into recovery and do factory reset other basics may work, though I tried cache, dalvik cache and permission fix, that did not seem to fix it for me. I think factory reset in recovery formats: data, cache, ext-sd/android....something file and one or 2 other things.
I think formatting data gets rid of all your settings, maybe one does not need the data reformat, I wonder if the android file on the SD card has certain settings with the RIL.
When you are having the GSM issue and no signal, under the more menu which is under wireless & networks, there is no "mobile networks" option and when dialling *#*#info#*#* (4636) under phone information, I think GSM service says "radio off".
Yes, after I did make a post, it did say 4 posts and then I actually knew I how many I had done, I was unsure as I had posted quite a lot about the early wifi issues when Spring crippled the original rom but I was also posting in the Moto owners forum and could not remember how many posts I had done in this forum.
Any way, will update if I think there is anything else useful to add/ask. I just love the openness of Android, especially compared to the iPhone, its just so great that someone may download the source and port it to a device such as what Joker and the others helping him out did, so now we have ICS on a very powerful and capable device. As much as Jobs may have had all sorts of issues with similarities between Android and iOS, we have more use from it and "like" google better from it (without spending crap loads of money on one of like only 2 devices available, we just have soooo much choice;-)
Fisher
Ok, so I understand that editing the file line above (/system/builld.prop , line ro.telephony.....) to 0 instead of 7 sets the network as WCDMA prefered (it even says so in the file just above the line you edit).
When dialing *#*#4636#*#*, I see GSM auto (PRL) instead of WCDMA prefered even after reboot.
It seems that the system is not reading that part of the build.prop file or its being over ridden by something else, how can I troubleshoot?
It stays on GSM auto (PRL) even if I change it in the dialer, exit and then type the code back into the dialer.
Have you tried relishing from scratch? & start from cm9 0.1.0 2d not 0.2.0 . I say that because when I first tried cm9 I started from cm9 0.2.0 and I had lots of problems and battery drains fast but then I clean everything off and redone it from cm9 0.1.0 2d note everything is working like it should even better . Hope you getting going...

If I remember what was said in the cm9 thread you have to edit build.prop from the zip, and then flash, not edit after flash or it doesn't work.

Sounds like the other guys have you helped with the FC portion, but nobody has addressed the first complaint. You're currently showing as having 5 posts to me when I look at your profile, so it's not alleged you're under 10 posts, you are under 10 posts. The word "allegedly" implies you disagree with that post count and if so, I'd suggest contacting an admin to have it looked into. I don't spend too much time on XDA so unfortunately I don't know who (specifically) to suggest you contact.
Hope you get it all sorted out! Cheers!
post count
ya the to little post count thing is semi wack. i understand why its there, but i deff still feel you pain. I have been a avid reader of most everything mopho related since about October, but am not much of a poster until not i guess
voicemail
I have ics on my mopho but Im not getting any voicemails. When I get a call and it goes to voicemail i receive a text that says I have received a voicemail and to call a weird number. When I do sometimes it asks me if I have a new phone with voicemail and sometimes its just a busy tone. Is anyone else having this problem?

[Q] Galaxy note and Straight talk in NY - Modem issues or really bad Service issue?!

Hey guys, i have straight talk with all apn settings on and 4g working however, this has to be the most difficult time I have EVER had with a phone. The service constantly goes in and out even with all bars present at times. These are the problems i have:
1. When wcdma and 4g is enabled, calls to others take long to start and state "conditional call forwarding active". Sometimes I cannot answer calls because it scrambles and makes crazy sounds.
2. When gsm is enabled with edge, everything seems to work fine with no issues. "Conditional call forwarding active" never appears
I have tried the following modems and none seem to fix the issues in terms of full 4g service and a working phone
Kid test modem - Blaze modem (tmobile)
UCLF6 alone and embedded in the UCLF6BS rom
Ucle2 modem
Uclf5 modem
Goldie b5 rom
None of these radios/modems seem to fix the issues, if they do, sometimes its temporary. There are no outages in my area, is Straight talk service really bad, or is it the phone??? I just dont get it.. Am I flashing wrong? I have been flashing with TWRP and have not used CMW since. I flash the modem then clear cache and dalvik. Am I missing something?? Please help, thanks so much
Im running Blackstar 8 no added on modem radio or nothing the problem your having is in the apn settings your using go in change proxy to not set .remove port #.and add authentication pap or chap keep your
mms proxy the same let me know how you make out
Agreed .....
APN issues are "very " likely the cause of your issues ...g
Hey guys, thanks so much for the response. So far I am still getting the "Conditional call forwarding active" popup right when the call starts. I will be able to give it a test run in Manhattan to see if I get the issues I had before. Thanks so much guys, will keep you updated

Hey guys, still no luck.
I have little to no problems when using 2g and on gsm mode, but when on full 4g, I have issues, internet cuts out and calls act up when traveling. Calls take long to start, etc.
Could it be a bad flash when the phone was first rooted? I just dont understand why I seem to be the only person with this problem. =(

When you say wipe everything, does this mean data, cache, dalvik, factory reset, system and even the internal sd card (emmc) where my music and files is stored?
Also, does it matter where I flash my rom from, I have been flashing it from the emmc rather than my sd card, is that a bad thing??
Just to set a bench, move everything from internal to external sd, then wipe internal, then wipe everything aside from external..then install rom from sd

mobile network not working on cm 10 or cfx roms

hi guys i am having trouble with the mobile network on just this rom. i only have 3g in this area (cant wait till january so i cant test lte, but it is most likely the rom. i just cant get the phone to connect to mobile network. do i need to flash newer radio? other stock moded roms work fine. No good on cyan mod 10 roms ethier
You could try disabling it from looking to LTE service in the mobile networking options - Maybe they happen to be turning it on to test and your phone is trying to connect?
It's under Settings => <More> => Mobile Networks => Network mode => Change to CDMA / EvDO auto
I already tried changing no luck thanks for reply
Very similar in theory.. But also try this.
Go to the dialer, hit *#*#4636#*#*, go to phone information, and change to CDMA auto (prl) in the drop down list there.

ya i tried that got it to work. now I am having the issue where when i receive multiple mms's In one single text
(i got mms to send and download using an alternate apn found in Baffles thread under android development if you cant get it to work try rebooting after you restore the apn)
the app itself tries to open it as a slide show then instantly closes, this is a problem with the app since i downloaded an alternate messaging app and it worked fine. the reason i care is because i wanted to have the stock app working due to the "reply in notification bar" feature. can you guys try out receiving multiple messages sent at the same time from one phone to another and see if it works or if any one can link me to a working CM10 apk messaging app

[Q&A] [ROM] BarRin ZV6 - Questions and General

Sorry guys, thought we had one of these already.
Just curious about the V_2.3.1? Mostly the reception, but....
Is the Reception any better - mainly for those that have lousy reception to start with.
Are you having any issues?
I haven't heard anything yet so let me know :good:
I have decent reception at my house but I think the beta added a bar to it (from 3 to 4). Definitely better at my son's school. I was only getting 3g there but now get LTE. The big test will be at work but I'm on vacation and don't go back until next week.
I was so amazed that I actually noticed a better internet connection I never looked at my signal bars there is an extra bar or two in my house, which I swear I only had one if that all the time one thing is that I'm not sure if it is the ROM or me but shutdownani is really choppy, every since 2.2 but I try modules sometimes that make my phone unstable like xprivacy& cool tool which I immediately remove but deff noticed improved signals, like I actually see the difference
Updated to 2.3.1 to check apn, I checked apn setting. They didn't change, so I selected reset to default. Then I lost internet and apn kept selecting VM. On reboot phone app fc. Had to revert apn.config and do ##scrtn

Did you use the ,DUN METHOD via master shortcut lite, hidden menu #2 4th on list, internet•, launch
Here is a screen shot. If I hit reset it will fill in the new apn added by 2.3.1 then my internet stops, and on restart phone app fc,

You don't create a new one. You edit the top two. Just tap them and
add ,dun to the APN.

Yes, I already did that edit. 4 me in a specific area the 4G is slower than the 3G. I wanted to try different apns. But those APN would not connect for Sprint at all
What is the intended effect of that file? Sprint has its own APN on a profile update
Works Well for me, definitely see improvement with Switching from 3g to LTE. I also find an LTE signal much quicker. I work in NYC, before the 2.3.1 update I would struggle to get an LTE signal once I left Penn station, now As soon as I walk out it grabs a signal. engine95 you are the Man Bro.
@engine95
I think the apn.config has bad settings for Sprint OTA, I've edited going to test, should be able to activate phone with the edits.

I'm not sure what you were trying to do prior to the above.
If you're talking the apn in the beta, It seems to work better for all of us.
If you're talking about modifying that apn for hotspot, it works also.

The original, and the beta do the update profile/prl as they should. And "Activate device" is the telltale.
But, you can't use the beta on a fresh install. Meaning on a full ROM. It'll only work as an update.
Remind me again what issue you're trying to fix and I'll see if I can help.
Edit: In V3, it has a new zipalign binary that does what you want.
Did some testing, updating profile/prl works because it uses apn settings from activation, but if you do ##72786# which erases everything then reboots and does an activation using apn.conf.xml to connect to ota. But the setting don't work for ota. Crashes phone app and then only way to fix by wiping and doing clean install.

That would be right because it has to go through the setup all over again. Just like a clean, full rom install. And it can't find the apn it needs.
Yes, all that file is, is a hack. Not a fix.
Well I'm going to keep working on trying to make the hack safe,
The new native hosts file appears to be blocking random pictures in the play store. Not sure which URL is the culprit but I disabled the file temporarily and the pictures come back. Other than that v3 is running great. Thank you.
I didn't experience any data or APN issues, rom running good, battery real good, only thing I noticed, LEDs aren't working for any app, for me.

I've seen that, too. It used to happen with the Mother of all Ad Blockers until that dev removed some entries. Some of the devs apparently host their images on sites that also serve ads.
Here's MoaAB if you're interested: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1916098

Thanks.
That can happen. If they are too restrictive, then you might have to use the stock Sprint one.

Mine are but the timing is about 10 sec between blinks.
I guess check your settings, and maybe wipe cache and dalvic?
I just realized I don't have the native Wi-Fi calling app. Can I ##72786# from v 3.01 and get it to download or is that only on factory ROM?
