Photon is rooted/unlocked and run WiFi all day every day without any issues. Bluetooth work great as well.
Unlock currently will break 4G no matter what rom but other than that most custom roms flash easy and are stable.
As for which phone to buy it is something only you can decide. If you like Webtop than the Photon is an easy choice (especially with Loki's Webtop+ & Ubuntop).
hi, and thks a lot for ur reply both of u , very kind and +1 thnks
I am having an issue with my phone not staying connected to my wifi or even wimax. Sometimes my keyboard doesn't even want to work for me and or key pad whenever I try to dial out sometimes.

Have you try out at McDonalds?
My SanDisk works well at the McDonalds but not at home so it could be a compatibility with certain routers

Hi buzz_lightyear,
In my country the McDonald outlets provide free WiFi surfing for the moment till the free surfing period ends.
lol yeah, sadly it is the fact and the speed actually fast enough to enable to me to play online game

Can you remove the WiFI drivers from your EXT ROM.
Hard reset and after that install the WiFi as a separate program.
It may work
I cannot receive a network reception on my Xperia, because the external antenna connector was damaged. I broke the connector off of the phone and still cannot get a signal as the phone is trying to get a signal through a non-existing external antenna.
Does anybody know how I can make the phone get signal through the internal Antenna?
I now own a HTC DHD because of this problem, but I still want my Xperia working for backup
Thanks
P.S. I tried installing custom ROMs, installing the stock ROM, etc...nothing fixes it
EDIT: Sorry, I thought I was in Q&A Section
Reported. Please post questions in the Q&A section.

Well mate, sorry to tell you but ...
1)There is no way you can do that, only way to make the phone use internal antenna is by modifying the Kernel, which you cannot as bootloader is locked.
2)You can always RMA it back if you still got warranty (its 2 years aint it?) and tell them to fix it for ya for free.
3)If they dont fix it,you can always fix it in a separate shop (But that can cost more than another DHD)
4)Try to fix it urself
Goodluck mate
Moved to Q&A as not android development

Already sent it back, they wouldn't fix it as it was beyond economical repair, so they gave me a free upgrade to the HTC Desire HD. But I still want the Xperia for backup, and my fiancee also wants to use my Xperia, as it's alot better than her blackberry lol.
Hopefully, Goehotz will crack the bootloader and I will be able to edit the Kernal
Thanks
hi.. im using this phone since 5 months n ive repeatedly noticed that its WiFi reception is quite bad, as compared to other phones. im barely ever able to use WiFi internet in university while my friends can do it. mine usually cant even connect while they can browse internet, a nokia express music does better than mine too!
is it only my handset's issue or somebody else also facing it? im on stock Ics, never did rooting n all.
suggest remedies too, if possible. thanks!
It is easy

You have two good ways 1 is to do a software repair using PC Compania Update Service or SUS .... Flash Kernel 2nd or customize your ai will be necessary to unlock bootloader.
Hmmmmm...your best solutions is to flash different baseband into your phone....you need flashtool to do it so download flashtool and different kind of baseband for LwW....remember to make backup first before you start flashing....

Dear All,
Has anyone tried iPad3 Bluetooth tethering to HDX? I can pair both together, but it doesnt seem to grab 3G data.
I tried transferring file via BT between SGS3 and HDX, it works which means there's nothing wrong with the chip.
I tested the same iPad with SGS3 (JB) and SGS2 (ICS). Both managed to use the data connection of iPad.
Please help.
Thanks a lot!
Banned for talking about iPads. Just kidding Did you try any apps from the Play Store?

Hi, I've just received a Moto XT910 and was trying to make it work but it seems impossible.
What is happening with the wifi of this phone. When it connects, rare, it drops without transfering a single byte.
Is this normal for such an advanced phone, My motorola milestone 1 still works flawlessly as well as other 22 devices connected to this router.
Any light on this issue or it is just like that, pure rubbish wifi, most important thing in a phone those days.
thank you.

What ROM are you running or are you stock? Are you Rooted?
If you're rooted try going into /data/misc/WiFi and delete all the files inside WiFi and then reboot. Should fix the WiFi problem. Post back with results and more info if it does not fix it.

Thanks for the suggestion. The phone is running the latest official 4.1.2 and is not rooted. If someday I decide to spend some time with this phone maybe I will root it, but what I heard about this phone is that wi-fi is pretty sub-par an full of problems.
This phone was supposed to be used by my youngest kid, and if wifi can present problems it will be a nightmare for me. For now I gave up using it in favor of the old trusty LG Optimus One. I really hate fixing things for the manufacturer, that got money and did not deliver a good equipment.
Lets see what Motorola can do after being sold again. After all the locked bootloaders, the hard time modding Moto stuff, I really do not see many good news for the future of this company.
Thanks
