Viber
Hi,
This is a member of the Viber R&D Team!
Using Viber with the same phone number on more than one device is not supported. Only the most recently added device will receive the Viber free calls.
Currently, Viber only supports 1 phone number for 1 Viber account.
If anyone has any questions/suggestions for Viber, please feel free to let us know, and we will address them shortly.
Thanks,

Viber is not completely supported with Android tablets.
You may install it and try it, or if you are having some technical glitches, it may be helpful if you try to uninstall/reinstall the application.
When using an Android tablet with Viber, you will need an active cell phone number to register and also to receive the access code on, for your tablet to use.
Also, make sure that you plug in your ear phone, this will activate the audio.
If you have any question about Viber - please feel free to ask.
Thank you,

[Q] How to build and SMS Server with an Android Phone?

Hello Everybody,
I'm looking for a way to use my phone to send SMS mailing from my computer.
My idea was to use the 3G modem of my android device, connect my computer to it and fine a software to send SMS from my computer.
In a second time i would like to able to receive SMS to the computer.
Does anybody knows a way to do that?
Best Regards,
Richard Perez
Did you ever find a answer to this? Im searchingnfor something similar
Is this for more personal use like texting your friends from your computer or more like a business application to where you want to be able to send and recieve texts to your "server".
For personal use, I believe you could just use Google Voice. If thats not up your alley, you could try droidmessenger.com or DesktopSms.
For buisness application, google sms gateway. You can send texts out to carriers free sms gateways, I know there is software out there that takes use of sending texts this way.
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks

[Q] Phone communications monitor

Hey all. I really hope this is the correct forum.
I am doing some research at the moment for University and what I am trying to do is to monitor / log all communications over an android device.
For example, I want to get the following data.
User X wants to communicate with one of their contacts, User Y.
How may phone calls, voIP calls, text messages, emails, facebook messages, whatsapp messages etc does User X send to User Y.
The call logs, sms, emails etc are not an issue but I've ran into a wall trying to figure out how to find out this same data from applications such as Whatsapp and Viber. Whatsapp is an application which uses the phones data connection to send messages and Viber is a voIP app.
I don't need any data from the phone call or message itself. I just need to record the frequency of calls and messages to particular users.
Would anyone have any advice regarding this, it would be very much appreciated.
edit: Oh and I am looking to code this. I am not looking for an already created app.

[q] Skype call

Hi,
When i try to make a call of the standard contact dailer on my S2 with icecream, the phone want to make a paid skype call, and no voip call.
Does someone has an solution for that?
It would help to know the country you are located and your service provider.
I'm not familiar with skype but I know VoIP can be blocked by your operator. If that's the case then you probably need a VPN connection (just google) to make free VoIP calls.
I have t-mobile in the netherlands. But when i open skype, i can make normal voip calls, but not from the dailer. it is not very usefull to always have to open skype first.
skype is also logging off in a while. thats also very strange
no solution?
"but not from the dailer"
which dialer u mean about it? skype's or the phone's? if you make calls from skype's dialer, then ofc, u have to pay for it. just like dialing from the phone's dialer. the differences beetwen the two method is the company who gets ur money. (if u use 3g, then both of them get money )
if u want to make a voip call then click on the green call icon - in the skype contact list - next to the person's name, and that's all. Note, that it will only be voip, if the person who called has a skype account too, just like you, and NOT a ordinary phone number associated his/her account.
i the skype dialer you are referring, it will use your skype credit and be sure you are connected on wifi..
or if you want try the "Viber" app
consider this: do you use "dialer" when you make VoIP calls on Skype thru your PC? i dont think so. same goes for mobile app. you choose whom to call from your online contact list, not dial a number. if you dial a number, naturally you're calling a "number." However, when you make VoIP calls, you're actually connecting with the "username" of your contact.
Hope that helped!

umm if you're calling Skype contact, you need to open Skype, just like you need to open FB Messenger to chat with your FB friend, or any other messenger app for the same purpose. Your Skype contacts reside inside the Skype app.
to solve the logging off issue, you can try uninstalling and then reinstalling, or upgrade (if such is available)
Cheers

[Q] Add development - forward/divert incoming calls

Dear users,
i'm a new junior developer with no experience on Android.
I would like to ask you (skilled developers) if you think is possible to find a way to develop an app to intercept incoming calls and forward/divert them to another a Google talk, Skype etc. or voip extension through a phone's internet connection (wifi, hsdpa..).
In case is not possible with the official functions, can be done on rooted phones?
[In case there is not chance It maybe possible using a trick/automation like intercept the incoming calls and use the installed app (skype..) to call another contact and forward the voice]
Thanks in advance and sorry if i missed some already present similar thread (i didn t find any)

I have the same issue on my Nubia Z7 Max. I work around it by just keeping Viber open all the time.
