Hi Everyone,
I have found myself going back to gingerbread once we got s-off because the battery life on ICS isn't really fitting into my current schedule. Any of you modders out there have time to make some goodies for ineffabilis 1.4? I know everyone has mostly moved on, so it's no big deal if not. I tried the simple blue for 1.3 that's a no go, and some battery mods, but I like blue a lot more than the included green. Anyway thanks either way.
Matt
I would suggest going back to 1.3. There are a few mods out there for that version of Ineffabilis. That is what I am currently running.

Would like to know your fave 2.2.1 rom. what neat option does it have that others may not like call recording etc.
second what is it lacking or does it have an annoying but like mms only working if you have your phone numbers in a specific pattern.
Thanks for you opinions and keep on flashing ps this is not a comparison its just what you like and why you like it want to know what others are using and what problems they have with the roms they love
I want to know which one is good too coz there is suddenly tons of new 2.2.1 rom
I can't say enough about (Port)(Rom)(Froyo JS7 2.2.1)Simply Galaxy/Sweet Honey 2.5 (Updated 3/10/11) it has been the one and only ROM that I have stuck with for longer than 2 days. I absolutely love it's quickness, stability, battery life, etc....
it's a keep until 2.3.3 is completely stable and everything works.
I'm running Dead Horse + Darky's 9.3 and my phone just flies.
im going to flash darky or sweet honey tonight i wonder which one will have the least bugs or small inconviences
Running Bionix Frost with Dragon Kernel v5, and everything works great on my phone, even gps. There is very minor menu lag, but everything else is fast. It'll only keep getting better, too.
I'll probably stick here until a fully functional and stable 2.3 is released.
Guys,
who has tried multiple roms? I'm on Das Bamf 2.1 and wondering how are the rest compared to Das... since Das Bamf hasn't made any more releases since 2.1 and sense 3 RC4... i'm inclining towards trying other roms... but really don't want to do the wipe and start from scratch.
Tisk, tisk, do and learn,no one can tell you what is best for you and your phone, take the time like we all.did and experiment and find your setup.
Sent to you via my handheld cellular communications device
i was on bamf 3.0 rc2 for a while but i switched to synergy and i love it so much more! great battery life, features, and even better community.

Make a nandroid backup before you flash any new ROM. (Keep a backup of the radio you were using too). Wipe everything before you flash a new ROM. If you do try a different ROM run it for a couple of days to let your battery settle with the kernel, and to get a feel for it. They are all a bit different as are the kernels that run them. You'll find one that fits you after you try a few. Most of them are terrific.

agreed. Back up and try the various rom/kernel/radio combos for a few days.
Also...keep in mind many of these are still changing...so if something is buggy, check the threads and maybe an update will be provided soon enough for your satisfaction
how do you backup radio? i am trying synagen in synagen website they have MR2 and MR2.5 listed as only for synagen... is it because they are only for gingerbread or was that radio really customized for synagen?

There are three radios for GB, Mr2,Mr2.5, and the new OTA .675. All three should be available from a sticky in the dev section. No customized radios for any ROM.

thanks... so backup radio is just to keep original file and there is no easy way to backup your current radio from the system.... right?
First I was running CM7 and loved all the features and speed. However I noticed the camera shots were not as sharp as the sense camera, and since I have two little ones, it's hard to have them perfectly still for a picture. Also GPS was slow to get locks.
The sense camera is amazing, even in complete movement a clear picture and face comes out, somehow like if it averages a few frames or something.
So I switched to BAMF with Sense 3.0 for a couple of days. Had issues getting the wireless tether to work, also missed the DSP (I got powerAmp but the equalizer does not work as good as the built in DSP). I also missed having the phone plugged in to the car aux sound and being able to talk/hear a phone call. With CM7 and stock it could be done, but with BAMF I had to unplug it to be able to talk.
Synergy seemed to have all the features and I've been running that the last couple of days. Only thing is, it seems very laggy for me. I've even overclocked it to 1400. Everything works though, including GPS and wireless tether. One example of the lag is when playing music, if I go to the app drawer or even writing a text message, the music will sort of stutter for a little bit, coordinated with my typing or movements.
I guess I'll have to check the feature list for Th3ory rom. I just wish I could run CM7 with the Sense camera, all would be perfect!
although its not one of the choices you provided, i love the look of kobes honeybread. i have now updated it twice since the initial flash.
i suggest you try th3ory's most recent after all the other ones so you can see what you've been missing and appreciate it that much more
but on a serious note, flash everything you can. everyone has different taste!
I was wondering what you guys would say the most stable ics rom is??
Ive been using scotts senseless rom and its been ok just a few problems. before that i had his cleanrom but i just cant like sense that much something about it kinda turns me off..
what do you guys think?
ima add one more question to this thread.. Where i live my signal is finicky as it is but im thinking running ics has made my signal drop is this a problem or is it just me trippin out?

I'm running CleanROM 2.3 completely desensed and it's as stable as Gingerbread.
yeah i was thinking about going back to it to many system ui crashes and other lil bugs in the aosp roms is it updated to the 4.0.3 with sense 3.6?
&& how is it desensed?
I really didn't like the battery life on cleanrom 2.x or desensed. I switched to cleanrom 1.6.5 and getting nice battery life.
I found Nils business sense ICS to be the most stable. But the small pluses of ICS didn't make the cut compared to the battery life and ease of use of Gingerbread. Especially once the new wore off. Back to CleanROM 1.6.5 for me too!
All of the ics roms have the same root issues really- that being blue screen flicker, etc. I'm on nils currently cause I like his out of the box notification mods.
Ics rules but I think may go back to gb (until an official) for some issues that are irking me. Vid chat doesn't work on skype, gchat, etc. Can't crop pics or do certain effects in the gallery. Beats eq is not working correctly. Again, most of these are probs that follow all of the ics roms and the devs have done a fantastic job -but I may just end up going back until these talented folks get their hands on an official build. I think they've reached a point where there's not a whole lot left to do with this current build. But like I said, what they've managed to do with this early build is damned amazing.
i flashed back to clean rom and desensed removed everything and so far it seems alot more stables im not getting any word that things are crashing even when making calls like it did before not to shabby i say plus the gallery from the camera i was having that problem in senslessrom
You guys running ICS, can someone confirm whether the folders are the new ICS folders like the Gnex has.
do you mean the folders in the launcher? then yes if you have the stock ics launcher
I'm loving Business-ICS
The skins, overall stability is pretty awesome. The one huge issue is battery life. On stock, I had it to where I could get at average just under 2 days of battery with my extended (2750mah) battery. With this ROM, with almost nothing running, and leaving the screen low-use, and LTE turned off, etc, I still can't get more than 6 hours at BEST on a full charge! Is anyone else seeing this? Do I need to look at flashing to a ziggy kernel or something? Or is it just part of the leaked ICS that the devs have to work from?
I was getting 10 hours on my stock battery running senseless ics rom with a hour of navigation and pandora on pretty much the whole time (lte disabled) +texting+ facebook and what ever else and i was left with more than 25 %
I've been using Scott's senseless since it was launched its an awesome rom but alot of fc's figured I'd try tachi's senseless 4.0 (which is based off one if Scott's roms) with the USB fix and HTC mms fix and runs super stable best senseless ics I've tried so far. Sounds like there are some pretty good rooms on the way though. Feel free to try them all out and find what you like best though.

My personal favorites would have to be by NilsP, lllboredlll, and Scrosler. All are pretty stable roms.
I've been holding out on trying any roms, still on stock. Just the topic I need to follow here

I must echo that Tachi's 4.0 rom is pretty good (with the fixes). I can't wait until we get a fully working AOSP rom. Scott's are good as well (the CleanROM 2.3 is actually a bit better than the Senseless, but... has Sense).

I do get worse battery life on ICS (running cleanrom 2.2sp1), but not that bad, I still get 10-16 hours before swapping extended batteries.

Yes, I'm talking about the launcher. When I had the GNex and I created a folder, it showed the icons stacked on top of each other rather than the plain folder that GB has. So the stock ICS launcher on the Rezound shows the icons like the GNex does? I'm asking because I was worried that Sense would not have that feature.

sense doesnt offer this but you can get the aosp launcher pretty easy theres desense scripts that you can run for ics that will give you all this
I think I might help
do not get ics all are unstable and i bricked my phone doing this well my friends extra phone I had to wipe the phone completely clen and starting over. I am downloading all roms tring to find something that works again. but like all post ineffabilis is the only one that comes close to restoreing the phone. I will update later to see if I can restore a dead phone but leave ics only until offical update.
I am using rezrom 1.6 right now and i really like it but i was wondering what else is out there and no ics I tried a few and i dont like any of them.
They're all flavors of the same Gingerbread. Try them all see what you like...nobody knows better than you
um try them all out... they all are good and ICS is way better than GB IMO
MrSmith nailed it, no one knows better than you. I am a RezROM evangelist myself, though. I haven't had better on GB than 1.6. CleanROM gets a lot of love too... I just prefer themed ROMs in general. The BAMF Rezound Rom 1.02 is relatively old, but the BAMF tools are nice to have... I also like that the bloat is there but moved into downloaded apps so you can remove what you want.
Not that it matters, but I just went to CleanROM ICS 3.1 and I'm not going back to GB. Some of the working ICS features are so much better (e.g. voice to text) and I get unreal idle battery life. There aren't any bugs that bother me at this point. But that's just me, of course.
Best of luck in your search.
I've got the S3 so any help about Evo roms would help lol. Looking for good battery life and customizations, really prefer JB but open to any ideas you guys got. Thanks for the help. I'm currently running mean bean 1.1 on it with timberwolfs blue theme.
MeanBean is where its at!! but there's alot of great roms to try..the team swagg rom is good.. if your looking to custimize viper4g is your best bet.. viper4g is still on the old base but im sure they will have something out soon
Cool thanks for the reply, I'll check them out!
Team G00N ROMs We have a Sense and Senseless version! People are reporting awesome results! Unfortunately though, the ROM is not posted on this site. Look around, you should be able to find it.
In my experience, the stock ROM is the best in the long run. I tried a couple of the custom ROMs and I liked the customizations and performance enhancements, but I would run into intermittent problems that I couldn't solve (e.g., flaky 4G connectivity, data connection dropping out altogether and forcing me to reboot, random freezes or force closes on certain apps, etc). If you're S-OFF, you can install the deodexed version of the stock ROM and selectively flash the tweaks that you want or uninstall the system apps you don't want. If you start having problems after you've flashed a certain tweak or removed a certain system app, then you know they're being caused by that tweak or the absence of that system app and you can just revert back to your latest nandroid backup (protip: always make a nandroid backup before you flash anything or un-install a system app).
Of course, I don't mean to disrespect any of the devs. Everyone's experience is different.

Been running OMJ OLTE rom w/ his mod pack for a week now. It is very stable, looks and feels very close to stock. Haven't had any issues as of yet.I highly recommend this ROM.
If you want a rom stock with some customization check out stock with goodies by flex360. I've been running it sine day 1 and it's great!
