http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24317850#post24317850
is it possible to make this work on our galaxy player?i think it would be lovely. well i am not much in development, but maybe a developer from our forum could make this for us i hope somebody will be so nice and make this. for the devs it is just a piece of cake i think lol
Mmm done
But im try add some new future and release it ~ tomorrow.
woow really quick and nice! can't wait! does it matter which version do i have? INTL or US?
ICS Style Settings.apk
I also followed the guide a few weeks ago for my INTL player. I can upload the file if you want but I can't post screenshots at the moment as I am no longer running a Gingerbread ROM.
Yeah I have this on my player too.

Was it as easy as following the directions, or was there trial and error? I saw it on the portal and wanted to give it a try!

Just pretty much following the directions. You should give it a try; it's not very difficult.
Cool, I sure will! I love stuff like that, pretty simple but gives you great learning experience on how to do stuff!
Btw, are you gonna post it for the rest of the people?

Here you go. Just a quick heads up, don't select call settings as this force closes it.
Oh and make a backup before you push this to /system/app
If anything does go wrong, then just restore your backup and I'm not responsible for any damage caused etc.
Thank you yeah yeah i know xD

Hi there, I was on youtube the other day and someone commented on a video I had uploaded showcasing my custom rom on my Vibrant. They asked If I could upload a tutorial on how to root and flash a rom onto the device. I said sure why not?
So here I have a two part series that goes from starting with odin, flashing a true stock firmware onto the device. Then gaining root access, flashing the rom. And finally, restoring all the apps via Titanium backup. I also mention SuperPower in my video. Thanks goes out to Chainfire for his excellent application!
At any rate, I'm no dev or anything. Just a fellow android user who thought those who would like to upgrade and were afraid or unwilling to take the plunge into flashing a custom rom could use a quick two part 30 minute tutorial on getting the job done. I'm not perfect so I probably mis spoke a few times. Don't flame me
Enjoy! =]

Found this on YouTube before he posted here. Damn good tutorial vids. My vibrant is running like a dream on Nero v3 with Voodoo now. If you are coming here looking for questions about ROMs and ODIN, watch these vids. Then watch them again and follow along while you flash your own device. Seriously, I was as nervous as anyone else, but this did the trick for me.
No offense to all of the other folks here who have provided so much information before this. That was all great and I should thank you all. It's just that this was so straightforward, I watched it once and then got to work. Great job man. Thanks, again.
I think we're all here to help. I know for a fact there is a very professional series of videos coming soon. This is great in it's absence, well done. Certainly better than the videos I made for the noob guide.
Op, cool if I link to the stickies since this is not one, yet

So glad to hear it! I was quite leery of odin the first time I soft bricked my phone, I figured I was SOL. But once you have gone from odin and back again, It's hard to forget.

Hey Mdtolic, welcome to XDA! I really think simple stupid is the way to go sometimes. Someone can explain the whole rigmarole and you're still left scratching your head. I really appreciate your comments and happy you were able to successfully root and flash your phone with a custom ROM. It's such an awesome feeling once you get your ROM on and tweak it just right. A stark difference compared to stock. And to think, I just randomly decided to make this one day , I didn't think it would actually help anyone lol.

Alright, added this to both stickies man. If you add more, please update your OP as that is what I have linked to, not your videos (just in case you update).

Sounds great, Thank you sir! I will make sure to do that if I update anything.
Cheers!
Always goes to the blue stock recovery
I followed the steps repeatly, but rom mgr always goes to the blue recovery mode, any suggestions? what do I do next?, thanks guys.
OK, I found the problem, after I repeated about 10-15 times, I had to go to the bottom of rom manager and do ALL ClcokworkMod Recoveries to flash older verions then it worked. For those of you who run into this problem. Weird your video didn't have to do that.
how do i flash a rom with odin?
Hello
is it possible to use odin to flash or root my htc desire?
If it is not, is there any other software like odin??
Glad the op was made into a sticky! I used this video to gain additional knowledge prior to flashing my first rom. Great job.
If your taking requests I would love to see a video from start to finish on how to flash a ginger rom which included flashing the ginger kernal through odin!

Hello Fellow XDA'ers
Let me start by saying that I am by no means a dev. I have taken it upon myself to learn how to theme. This will take me some time as I am just learning, am working 1 full time job and 2 part time jobs and I also have a 2 year old at home. So please do not ask for ETA's. I will try to release themes in stages. Please look at the poll attached to this thread as it will help me decide what colors to start with. Also iff you have any apps you would like to see themed please leave a comment in this thread of that app you would like to see themed. FYI first theme I will come up with will be bluish in color as blue is my favorite color After that I will start with the #1 color in the post poll and work my way down the list.
I am currently running alien ROM on my phone so I will be using that ROM as a base. If anyone would like to help please let me know. REally need someone who is great at photoshop or GIMP. Also will need tester's also.
Thank you in advance. I will help test...might want to look at homebase 2.1 with 4.2 update as the base it has been really stable for me..
THIS is the way the dev forum should be. "I don't see what I want so I'm gonna make it myself!" instead of whining that less than ten people are working on useless 'upgrades.'
I'm more than competent in Photoshop and I'd be willing to test for you. I'm also familiar with the Android system having messed up a few for myself. I like blue as well.
Good deal. I'll help you test it out.

Even though Alien is nice, it's a few updates behind and dead (most likely forever). Might I suggest Yay's 2.3.4-4.5.1A-1_SUN-198_7-CM Deodex. Either way I'll be happy to test.

You don't have to be the most saavy when it comes to digging around in the resource folder as myself and unixdood are good at that and just need the graphics to go with the ROM. If interested, please PM me ASAP as I am moving into the beta stage testing of my ROM and want to get it right before releasing a final build. Even if you're new to rooting but are good with photoshop don't hesitate to PM me as I like people who learn as they go (like me lol). I have a rough logo that is on the thread in Evo View development and have a few other images or the originals that I will send whoever would like to take up this task and get mad propz for doing so. Building Sense based ROMs using dsixda's kitchen is pretty straight forawrd, hardest part was seting it up to run on a windows pc. You pretty much just end up with a deodexed, zipaligned ROM. I haven't done this with my Rezound but have built ones for the Incredible and Eris. You can also de-sense ROMs easily witht his too. Its a good tool to learn teh basics. The next step up is to learn to compile from source or to port over a ROM from another device.

You can't really be shown how to make a ROM. Every Rom is different, and requires different steps.

id say a large portion of rom devs started out by theming...helps to learn the files structures and what does what...as well as becoming familiar w/ apktool, smali, etc

if using other peoples stuff, make sure to credit them properly :good:
