I rooted the MT3G with ease. And the flashing of Roms and stuff is easy for Mt3g. But it seems hard for the Vibrant. I don't use abd or anything cause frankly. I don't know how. Can you guys maybe give me suggestions?

Read, understand, experiment. Ppl only get their troubles or "panic" because they dont have anything setup & dont know how to get them selves out it. If you dont want to learn our try to use the tools that are available then just wait till the one-click ROMS or CM comes out.
If you want to take the time to learn then I would suggest to head over to the vibrant "bible".
Easiest way is just to down load one click lag fix from market there is a root option there. Or it really was easy this oas my first android phone. Download the update filter put it in the internal sd and rebooted using hold vol + vol- and power. And installed from there no problem.
Just check out the stickied thread about vibrant tips and tricks

There is also a "One Click Lag Fix" that you can download here, it takes like 20 seconds to root this phone, you shouldn't be scared

I wondered about rooting too at first, but as it turns out it's very easy. I've read several comments on how easy it is to root the Vibrant compared to Android phones back in the olden days.
And if you want to flash a neat ROM, go check out Bionix.

I just got this phone 2 days ago (my first smartphone ever!) and I've flashed it probably 6 or 7 times now...
Important advice: Right now, once you've installed Clockwork ROM Manager, make a backup of your ROM! I really wish I'd done this, just a near-stock, untouched backup (yes every thread post starts with "make a backup!" but I was stupid)
Now for some encouragement: If I, with zero knowledge of Android/rooting/ROMs/build.prop files/Clockwork/adb/Odin before Sunday at 4 pm, managed to F with this phone as much as I have and not even come close to bricking it, you'll be *golden* just flashing it with a well-known ROM.
Flashing ROMs is super easy with Clockwork. It's like... 3 or 4 clicks easy.
Right now I'm running Bionix and really enjoying it. You might check it out while we all wait for Cyanogenmod to come out for Vibrant.
TL;DR: I've been pushing files, flashing broken ROMs, all sorts of fun stuff and my phone is still pluggin' away. I wouldn't worry too much about bricking. Just read the threads, search the Googles, and ask for help if you get really stuck. And backup.
Make sure you check out Eugene323's stuff as well. He puts out some incredible work.

I had more problems with my MT3G than I did with this phone. It took a day to root and rom the MT3G since I have the one with the head phone jack (stupid gold card crap).
Do what everyone has suggested. DL the One Click Lag Fix and touch the option to root. I'm running the Bionix 1.3 and it's good.
I know this doesnt exactly belong in this forum but lets face it most of the topics in here arent since the bootloader is not hacked and everone is speaking hypotheticals. I know over in the droid x droid 2 forums ( droids with bootloaders) there are roms with no motoblur. What are the odds that well see that here for the atrix. Lets face it motoblur could be worse but there are some things like the gallery that should not have been messed with. If i could do any of this i would but i cant. Has anyone tried to contact anyone in those forums for support? They have had more time with motos version of android so im sure they have some insight. I bought this phone knowing i might not be able to flash custom roms but if we can get rid of most of moto blur this phone would be heading in the right direction.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
I think with a deo rom, and root, you can sideload your own gallery, your own launcher, mod your keyboard, etc, and be almost 100% free of blur on your own...
imho..

Killster
It will happen one way or the other. Right now I believe folks are waiting for a leaked sbf or update.zip to be able to restore a dead phone. Even the source at opensource.motorola.com will be usefull once they release it. I have been working on a method. I have a custom recovery that inits from the default recoverys reboot option. But it does not work either cuz there is still signature checks on the bootloader. Btw there is custom roms for the backflip and the bootloader is still locked deblurred and such

Where can i find the right gallery apk for the atrix? I have tried a few and no luck....also do i need to use adb or can i just use root explorer

Droid X2, preinstalled with 2.3.3 The phone belongs to a dear friend, and I've screwed it up apparently. I finally got it rooted via Visionary this morning, remarkably easy once I took the time to actually read. Quick and painless flash of Eclipse 0.5, and then onto apps, mods and 'pretties'. Well the last thing I tried to do before turning it back over to its owner, I tried to change the font. Apparently this is where I went wrong. It's been a soft brick ever since. It will load the "M Dual Core" screen, and that is absolutely it. I can navigate into recovery but whatever Nandroid I had created isn't showing up there. Please tell me there's something I can do, I've tried SBFand whatever, but I'm sure I'm not doing it right. I'd be willing to sling a few bucks your way if you were able to help get remedied. Thanks in advance. We can do text chat, or voice. I'll be home from work around 9pm Central Time. Thanks so much.
If you created a nandroid, you might not be able to find it because Eclipse 5 swaps the sd cards. Try again and you may find it in the opposite directory.
If you ate trying to this thru stock recovery (holding buttons when booting) then you won't be able to restore from there. At this point our only option is BSR, the thing you used to flash eclipse. To get there, power the phone off and then plug it into a wall charger. If it loads, you can do a wipe or restore from there.
You might also be able to wipe data from stock recovery.

What worries me is that I have noticed that when I flash eclipse after a data wipe it seems as though I have to go use system recovery app and press install recovery first again before I can get BSR to show up again with off phone plugged in. Hope this isn't what happen to OP or else sbf is only option.
And if u r sbf make sure on ur phone u r using power and vol up to get where u need to be to sbf. And plug phone into computer AFTER opening rsdlite.

There is an app that works to root 2.3.3 on the x2 without a pc?
Edit: everything I could find easily on that visionary app says it only works on 1.7 firmware and under, and all the posts are over a year old. Not sure how he got this to work for him

I was wondering exactly same thing. If yes OP needs to post a link ASAP for testing and confirmation immediately
I think that visionary root app is what may have him in a bind at the moment... He definitely needs to post where he got it and what he read to lead him to believe it would work... His only option, IMHO, is to sbf and go from there....

LOL! What you want me to post the whole tutorial for the guy here??? But can you really blame me??? I have become a full believer in SBF'ing for any issue I run into tho...
If "system recovery" is installed and "recovery mode" has been set(if only once) then a "battery pull" and a "plugging in" of the charger will trigger BSR. But not if "charge mode" was last cmd exec.
Batt pull may screw up dates when restoring, so it is best to set recov. mode each time needed.

Yeah, no sleep for 3 days, that's why I said that. I meant to say, the Pete Souza Method. But yeah I got it all fixed with DAG425's SBF Tutorial. It was probably the easiest to wrap my mind around, well thought out tutorial.
In a side note, regretfully I seem to have fallen for the X2....sorry HTC. lol
I was trying to flash shabbys kernel and I installed the CWM Bootstrap. It went well untill It came With a message saying "fail to boot 2 starting RSD mood". I was rooted stock with Bootloader lock. Any help please?

Flash the mr5 sbf.
Sent from my Motorola Photon 4g
Just for others info, I believe you need a full cwm with unlocked bootloader in order to be able to flash kernels.
Yes you do. The bootstrap will only work with the P-Rom's like Laser, once you unlock bootloader you do need the custom CWM. Which is what I ended up having to install. Works good though. :]
What is the best way to flash mr5? Is there a guide? Thanks In advance

Im glad that all the devs put up indepth guides for all of us noobs to follow along with, especially the ones where they skip steps that we all should know by this point!

Follow those steps......Then when RSD asks to manually power up the phone do a battery pull and when powering back up HOLD THE VOLUME DOWN KEY till it boots into recovery. Then scroll down with the volume down key to "boot Android (no BP)" hit the volume up key. Let it do its thing. You should be up and working again.
These are the steps I used last night to solve the EXACT SAME problem you have....My device is now working again I just have to reactivate it when I take the loaner phone back later.

Most of it is cuz us noobs want to try stupid **** to see what we can get away with. That is why I did what I did yesterday, I was about 95% sure it would cause a problem but I chose to do it anyway.
So I have a new problem after restoring my device. Now I can't install any new apps from the market.every time I get the message "can't install ____ due to insufficient space on phone" of am at work now but I an gonna try to figure this out tonight.
Every time i plugin my phone It rellano me that battery is too low to flash. How do i charge It? It turns on every time to the fail to boot message

There's a new update for the Motorola Electrify that gives you 1080p video recording and prevents you from removing Motorola's bloatware and unroots the phone. If you have unlocked your bootloader you might want to skip it, but if the phone is just rooted it should install. I tried to update and I got the green android with a exclamation mark inside a triangle. I had to pull the battery and restore my back I made through CWM. If you just try and reboot it just tries to install the update again. You can root it again using the torpedo method, so I've read, I've not personally tried it.
I was part of the trial update team and I can tell you that after the update I still had root. I lost root about two days after the update, not sure why...but then used the torpedo process again and rooted no problem. Have had no problems since.
well apparently someone was able to re-unlock there bootloader after the 2.3.5 update on another forum, trying to get info.

Is there anything else new that got added? And does your led light work as advertised in the book?
I had root via the one click method. After the update I had no root.
I tried the one click process again - no root.
I used the torpedo method and viola, root again.

Are you saying that you can give me 1080p HD Recording in a Bootstrap-flashable update.zip file?

Please dont. You could always grab the new camera and camera related files from 254. Use root explorer. You need to edit the build.prop. ill make something soon enough.
