[Q] How to fix the 1750000 battery trick? - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

As the title says, i wanna know if it possible to fix that trick.
After doing the trick, my battery increases a lot the duration. But sometimes, when i go to the service menu check the value, i get the original value or other ( 1650000 or 1735000).
Is there any way to fix it?
Sorry for my bad english

What trick do you speak of?

take a look at /system/build.prop, there is a line ro.semc.batt.capacity, change it to 1750. need root access to modify it, it means need bootloader unlock

help? touch pro input (phone keypad and compact qwerty) only symbols!

I apologize if this has been answered elsewhere (I've looked everywhere I can think of), but I seem to have somehow set the default for both input options to symbols only. I'm running a Verion TP with a few of the tweaks and mods I found. There's an option for "turn on one touch symbol entry" but even with that not selected, it seems to be doing exactly that? Anyone know a registry edit that would help? thanks in advance!
one of your tweaks is causing it.
i'm not sure of the tweak as i have not done it... this comes from reading the forums.
i think it has to do with t9 or something. it would be best if you tested your tweaks one at a time so you know what they are doing.
thanks, i've been trying to back them out one at a time (i only had 2 or 3). I didn't notice it until it was too late, after I'd done a couple in a row. that's why i was hoping someone might know what particular registry entry i can adjust.
Edit: I've backed them all out now and soft reset, still nothing. I'm worried only a hard reset is going to help...
Edit 2: Ok, i just went ahead and hard reset. Thanks anyway
Any idea what this was? I'm having the same issue!
I'm relatively certain you disabled xt9 using some program or another. If you enable it, the you should get the functionality back.

This is correct. For some reason this happens after going to the classic word correction and disableing eT9. A temp fix for this is to modify the following registry keys; I say temp, because it might happen again.
Temporarly fixed symbol lock on keyboard:
1. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Tegic\eT9\Ime]
"CurrentET9Style"=dword:00000000
2. [HKLM\Software\Tegic\eT9]
XT9SupportMSSip value="0"
Thanks Jeff!
I had the same issue and your fix worked.
I only had the change the value for [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Tegic\eT9\Ime]
"CurrentET9Style"=dword:00000000
Mine was set to 00000001
The value for [HKLM\Software\Tegic\eT9] XT9SupportMSSip was already "0"

Question about Default settings

So... I happen to have extreme OCD with settings on all my electronics, and I like to know that I can return all my settings to default if I happen to change something I don't like. Is there some way to restore all settings on the phone (with stock ROM) to default?
In particular, is there no way to restore the volume settings to default? If anyone hasn't changed their volume settings, I would like to know whether the default notification and system volumes are 2/3 of the way to full like the default ringtone is, or if they are all the way up?
For as ocd as you sound, just flash
the stock image and take notes of everything.
That way you won't have to 'worry' if people are giving inaccurate responses.

Well I actually did put it back to stock, but somehow it actually messed up my settings... I was hoping someone actually knows the settings... plz help
Dude, I'm sorry but you need to work on your issues. I mean no disrespect and if I knew flashing back to stock would give you the values you're looking for I would do it for you. But volumes are meant to be changed. That's why there's a slider bar on all of them. Stock values by the manufacturers description are whatever your ears like.

Help updating Razr

Hello, I'm currently using an x912 on 2.3.6, rooted. I'd like to go to ICS, however I have some concerns:
How is the battery life? Having the standard Razr, this is a concern for me
Will I be able to root again? How exactly do I do this? I've also heard the term deodox thrown around, what is that?
How is the keyboard? The one thing that turned me off about MIUI was that the keyboard didn't input a character immediately after you pressing the screen, and that really slowed me down
Finally: how is the lock screen? I use an app to lock my screen at the moment, so I only use the power button half as often. Will I still be able to do that in ics? can I set it to a gesture like I can with ADW, and will it turn the screen off as well?
Thank you for any and all help, I'm just having little luck with google with some of these questions, and the way I understand it it's a one way path. I just really want to make sure that this isn't something that I end up regretting

The battery life is lower in ICS than GB but performance is greater.
In dev section, you can find many root methods that work.
About keyboard, the ICS keyboard have a similar function to the GB, maybe more fast.
Upgrading to ICS is the best choice for RAZR, GB offers a much lower performance.
Sorry for bad english.

The razr utility 1.81 is what i would use to root these days... when it comes to battery life i have experienced better results with ics. Deodex = Apk files have respective odexes that devs use to supposedly save space. Deodexing means you convert it back to a .dex file and put it back inside the apk. This allows you to easily replace files (not having to worry about odexes), but the main point was to deodex services.jar so that you can change all text to different colors (such as the clock color to white) and to deodex services.jar, you need to deodex everything. Hope i helped.. cheers..

Yes, I appreciate both of your responses very much. I think I'll finally give it a go this weekend, thank you both for answering my questions

[SOLA] Turn off button backlight

How can I turn it off?I'd like to mess with system files the hard way.I've tried numerous root apps, all of them work just temporarily.
Ok, the file is:
sys\class\leds\button_backlight\max_brightness
But I can't change it. I've ticked the permissions, root explorer says it's saved but the value remains at 255.Can you help on this?
Backlight??
Have u tried night mode or screen filter?
I'd like a permanent solution without additional processes.
Is there someone more experienced?I still can't change the value of max_brightness.Should I try to unlock the bootloader?
I'm still investigating around."brightness" is adjustable, but it just reads the current value(0 to 255).I've also tried to remove the triggers in "trigger",but it's the same like max_brightness - can't actually change it.
I think I've spotted the solution and bugged the phone.
Turning off the backlight with Keyboard Backlight, and plugging the charger in and out, seems to freeze the backlight trigger, and forces it off even after reboot.
Running an app that accesses "trigger" like Rootdim resolves the "problem".Overall i think the stock ROM has a problem.
I'm still looking for more civilized method

[Q] Xperia P - Disable soft key backlight

I´ve been trying do disable the soft keys backlight.
Right now i'm using the Soft Buttons Light app to permanently disable the leds, but i rather change the led brightness values on the files, than using an app that consumes ram.
Changing the values is possible, and after an extensive search for a solution for xperia p, i've only found a solution here on the forum for other xperia phones, because on the xperia p the files are a bit different.
Still, i've tried to change the values, but i can't. I've figured out that there are 3 folders that control the 3 leds on the transparent bar, so i have to change the values on all of them. Those folders are "so34-led0", "so34-led1" and "so34-led2", on "/sys/class/leds/".On the max_brightness file, using ES File Explorer, after changing the value, while saving, an error ocurs, i save it anyway, but when i check it, the previous value is still there. Using Root Explorer, a .bak file is saved (and i don't know where, because i can't find it) and the original file remains with the original value.
Has anyone did it? Or knows how to do it?
Take a look at this thread
Control Led Brightness
That is the correct way to go about it, in my opinion Modifying the value during boottime itself is the best way to go

Thanks, but i've already seen that thread, and a solution for the xperia p wasn't found there, only for other xperia phones. The lines on the xperia p are quite different.
They are:
echo 0,51,251,511,851 >$dev/button_min_vals
echo 50,250,510,850,5000 >$dev/button_max_vals
And i don't have a clue how to change them =/
Anyone?
So if I read correctly, you want to permanently disable your led bar? If so, using root explorer and go to
System/lib/hw and rename lights.st-ericsson.so like add an extra o or something. Then reboot

ilumination bar
i was having the same issue, and the best way to disable the led, was with the app "ilumination bar", go to theme led, set all values to the left and save, its consume very low ram, and is the best aplication to control leds, you can disable theme led, but it can stay enable to notify missed calls, sms, etc..give it a try.

Thanks, that finally worked Sadly, it REALLY diasables all the lights, even the notification led on the top of the phone. I would like to keep the green light when it's charged, but maybe it is for the best, less lights to consume the battery. Its just leds, they wouldn't consume much i think, but it still does some battery consumption.
Thanks a lot mate

It might be a great app, but the idea was to avoid the need of an app. I already have one that does it, but i prefer to deal wih the issue on the source instead of having to depend on an unnecessary application.

UPDATE:
This is not the right thing to do. It solved the leds problem but created another.
It is not noticible on daylight, only on low-light. The screen does not become fully off when the phone is locked!
It can be seen that the screen is still lit. Like it's displaying a full black image. I reversed it by renaming the file as it was before.
Now i'm back at square one.
Bump.
I'm also looking for a way to do this. Any solutions? The apps simply don't work for me

I'm not spamming mate, I'm bumping up the post so that more people can see it.
I have JB and what do you mean init.d? The file? Or like an application?
Is there a way to do it with init.d?
I'm running MIUI and the soft button lights are disabled by default.. I need them back on, how do I do that?
