I have a question for anyone with the MoPho running any of the ICS builds.
What app and/or settings are you using for voicemail and/or voicemail notifications? I have made the jump to ICS (running Code Name Android - CM9 based). Now when I get a voicemail, instead of a VM notification I get a text from sprint coremobility telling me I have a voicemail. I know that the sprint VVM app doesn't work as it's a blur function. I have also looked in the play store a little, but nothing interests me.
I've poked around a little looking at other Sprint ROMs to see if there is something I can pull and side load, but it either don't exist or I haven't found it yet.
Any thoughts, help, or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
My MoPho's in the kitchen sink!!
Your best bet would be google voice.

So I like the Google Voice integration, I guess. Want to set it up for voicemail only and use Handcent fir text. Doesn't seem to work, or I can't figure it out. Don't want text messages in Google Voice. Anybody know the secret?

Yes the text thing is pissing me off. I just want voicemail as well.
I think you can shut the text messaging portion off in your account settings(on the computer...not on the phone)

LOL happened to me too. You have to sign in from a computer I think and "un" port the number. Reinstall Google voice and the first thing I think it asks is if u want to do the Sprint/Google voice integration or skip it for normal Google voice services. You need to skip that part and install like u usually do.
The part u do on the computer I'm not 100% about. I only did it once but i believe I found this info on MIUI.us in the EVO section.

Just turn off syncing in Google Voice. I get the voicemail forwarded to my SMS and then check the GV app manually.

That worked. Had to unassociate my number and go back to my default Google Voice number on the website. Wasn't easy to figure out. Should be a way to just opt out of text.

Anyone fix the notifications yet?
Look into google voice as an alternative. Its free.

There won't be a fix until there is a new GB leak.

i couldnt get google voice to work for the life of me. it was "setup" and working but when people would call me they would get the voicemail greeting i left for carrier voicemail. it would never go to google voice. i redownloaded YouMail as i used it once before and its been working. sucks because i really liked google voice.
Just a thought...
Did you goto, menu, settings, call and change voicemail from "my carrier" to "google voice"?

how do I make it so that holding 1 on the dialer calls my gv voicemail?
Why would you ever have to call your googe voicemail box? It sends them to the app on your phone. Try saving your voicemail number as speed dail one.

Maybe this thread will help you. Make sure to use an actual computer to change your settings. You can change your text and voicemail settings there. (unlink)

I couldn't get the at&t vvm to work on rls 4.1 I ended up trying Google voice again. With the native vvm support in ics it is really good, I can access voicemail through call log, takes tinkering with forwarding settings from message center to your gv number but it is worth checking out. On a side note I set dnd on gv so it doesn't ring more than normal.

That's strange I got ATT VVM working on mine using those instructions for getting it working on ICS it didn't work on any of the previous releases but on this one its fine

Mine keeps saying "Failed to retreive and save current forwarding number settings."
Any ideas?
Continue forward with it then change settings in phone/forwarding to +yourgooglenumber worked that way for me I couldn't get the *004*googlenumber# to work.
I get a .odex file now with the apk and it won't self install on reboot. Its kind of cool listening to the messages through call log though, well, different anyhow

I'm now to the android scene, andsoup. so far I think it's pretty cool. But one disturbing thing about the optimus is the way it handles voicemail. The is no visual voicemail integrated into the dialer, using a separate app sucks- especially when it's an att app that doesn't seem to load.
Does anyone know if there is a fix for that?

It's not built into the dialer, but Google Voice is a solution that loads and works well. It also tries to transcribe and emails those transcriptions to you
Google Voice also has an option to display your voicemails in the call log screen.

I'm using the ATT app and it works flawlessly.

I've been using PF Voicemail + on my old GS2 with good success and over the few days I've had my OG it has worked just as well. It also transfered my old messages and missed call log when I made the switch as a bonus. Not sure if that was the app, or the result of TiBu. Either way, no issues I can see so far on the OG.
