[Q] A70 stuck in recovery getting "Update failed: (1)" message

Hi All,
My A70 is stuck in recovery mode giving me an "Update failed: (1)" message.
Since the 2.2 update it would run ok for anywhere from an hour to over night and then start freezing up and loosing wifi, keyboard keys sticking etc, etc. I'd do a factory reset and then it would be fine until the next episode. Ive done a reset probably 10 times. THEN, I tried to re-install the a fresh batch of firmware and this is what the result is.
Does anyone know what that means?
I have requested a RMA but that will take over a month. But I guess if it's fried I'll have no choice..............
UPDATE: marcusmarcus on the archos fans forum pointed out that I was trying to install the .aos (archos operating system) file at the wrong recovery prompt. Instead of trying to load it at the "update firmware" prompt, I was supposed to load it at the "reformat device" prompt, hit ok, and let it do its thing. It worked and its up and running! Oh happy day!
Good looking out mm
Thread moved to general as not rom development.

[Q] Assert Failed: write_raw_image ("tmp boot.img boot

I'm on 1.6 trying to get to 2.2. I've followed this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=805112) guide and have followed every single step to the letter, even repeated the steps multiple times.
I'm currently trying to get to 4399 and am stuck on step 12:
12. Select Software upgrade via Update.pkg on SD Card using volume keys and camera button to select. Be patient it will take a while.
I've reflashed the recovery and downloaded different files to make sure they weren't corrupt. And every. single. time. I get this error:
Assert Failed: write_raw_image ("tmp boot.img boot
I've updated plenty of phones numerous times in the past, I've spent over 6 hours trying to update with no luck!
I'm going insane here. After rifting through a bunch of guides I found that you can simply get 2.2 by going through the browser.. well I downloaded and upon trying to install come across ANOTHER error!:
The application browser (process com.android.browser) has stopped unexpectedly.
Someone please HELP! My gf got this phone a week ago, I'm almost 90% sure this is hardware related. B/c I tried everything numerous times!!!
Search how to test internal SD card and make sure it is good to go. If good to go try Steve's QDL tool to install 2.2: http://streakdroid.com/?page_id=92
Read everything first and remember QDL has specific steps if you are running a 64 bit system that you must do first, but good news is that is on the link above.
Good luck.
Thanks..
can anyone else help?

Error Message

Hola! Haven't been around awhile, but I finally broke down from the i4 and got the new Galaxy S II....and I LOVE IT! Had some other droid phones, but only used them as GPS and music players for my motorcycle.
Anywho...I rooted and installed CWD and when I attempt to run a backup of my current ROM out of ROM manager, it starts the process and then I get the following errors:
E:failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted
Additionally, when I attempt to view the contents of the ext_sd, it says no files, yet there is approximately 2 GB of data on it.
Anyone have an idea? Did the root not fully take. I don't have any apparent issues with the phone...functions normally and I see SuperUser in apps.
Oh...one thing I did notice, which seems odd, but it might just be me , is that on the Samsung boot screen, there is a yellow triangle with an exclamation point at the bottom of the screen. But as I said...it boots and runs normally.
Help?

[Q] Need Help Forcing Pantech Flex To Update Through Sideload

I've been trying to fix this phone for 3-4 weeks now with no luck, so I figured this would be the right place to come.
I was way too tired and I was trying to use ROM Manager to try and flash a ROM that WAS NOT meant for my phone. Long story short I got stuck in a boot loop. I get past the Pantech logo then I hang at the AT&T logo. All I have access to is the bootloader menu and stock recovery - I can get to fastboot through the bootloader menu and I can get to ADB Sideload through recovery.
I've tried everything I can think to do with no luck. Then last night I got the update.zip for last year's OTA JB update. Through sideload I tried: adb sideload c:\adb\flex-jb-update.zip
It pushes the update to the phone and unpacks it fine. But after 24% or so I get an error on the phone and the installation gets aborted. It says something about the AT&T Family Map apk.
If I could get any pointers that would be great, 'cause I'm really not looking to send it back to AT&T. Last year I bricked my phone and I knew it wouldn't be covered by insurance so I smashed my phone to pieces and told AT&T that it got ran over by a car. Worked once, probably won't work again.
Any help would be great.
Thanks In Advance,
TJ
Just tried re-signing the update.zip and doing it again. I got the same error.
After "Verifying current system..." I get "assert failed: apply_patch_check("/system/app/ATTFamilyMap.apk" , "3014be541877900d308d9ca725ef507c96c33af8" , "1ea33a46e2d5330e30dca81aa4f9ecb52461677c")
Installation aborted.
Urgggg.

Verizon Samsung S3 I747 ROM issues

Ok first off Good Morning Everyone.
So I'm a noob when it comes to android anything- (gamer music plays in background).
My issues arise when I went through several threads on the forum. Let me first tell you specifically the equipment I have:
Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 I747
OS version was 4.0.4
Ok, so I have T-Mobile as my service provider.Since this was originally a Verizon phone that was unlocked from the store I bought it at. (Not a Verizon store). Verizon now will not help me update the software. As I said it was OS 4.0.4. I want 4.4.3 (at least).
So since Verizon won't help and T-Mobile said they can't help. I decided I will try this myself. So last night after I got my son in bed. I got on and started reading. I very quickly figured out you better get the stuff that is specific for your device or you will be SOL. Anywho:
I got the phone rooted after about 2 hours of trying to figure out how. And then I found a rom that I thought would work. I then came across this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2580924 which I thought would work.
However after it started Installing System I get the error- set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed
E: Error in /sdcard/kitkat.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
So being the tech savvy person I am, I decided oh this should be easy to fix. I youtube it and find several videos. One video said you just have to enable signature verification. So I do that. STILL GET ERROR
I watched another video and it says I need to reset the custom binary download so it says YES (0 counts), they tell you to do this through the app store. But I can not get into the android software. It will only turn on to Recovery Mode or the Boot Menu.
So I am at a loss on where to go from here. Could someone help me through this?
