[Q] Touch Buttons Problem????? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Everyone.
I bought a Galaxy S 2, im very happy with it, but there is somethig about im worried.
The touch buttons (Menu and Back) have different light intensity. The Menu button is more bright than Back button. Is this normal? Should I return it for another one?

S-Memo problem!

Happened twice today after flashing and reflashig a rom. So when trying to use handwritting mode the s-pen doesnt leave any marks on the screen...iknow the phone recognizes it(because the capacitive buttons turn on once the spen touches the screen) so it might either be a new app conflicting with smemo or might have been something i removed causing this problem...any ideas?

probably you did not activate the screen for writing - single tap screen once again to get to edit mode (first mode is display only)
Which ROM?

Q anyone else got an operative back button?

This is really starting to get in my nerves now that when in an app (especially XDA, FB, Tapatalk) when I press back instead of going to the previous screen it either takes me to the home page or my home screen.
I''ve tried all 3 speed settings on the tap and hold which helped a couple of apps but it sit does it I most.
Anyone else suffer this?

could it b that the app doesnt propely remain in memory? Meaning that if u press the back button once there isn't anything to return to than the home screen or homepage.

It seems to be like this for most apps though.
I have a few niggles with the phone like this, message notification, reception (my T-Mob wireless pointer is far faster on same network)it puts a full stop in front of a lot of words just to name a couple so going to take it back for a replacement.

Buttons light up on notifications app?

Hello, is there an app the when I get a message or email sect the screen buttons will flash or light up. Not rooted so it can't be BLN... thanks!

I don't believe you can get the 4 buttons to light up for notifications without BLN support.
You could try NoLED from the market. It's not exactly what you're looking for, but close. It does chew battery though I believe because it keeps the device in a wake lock, at least it did way back when I tried it on my captivate.

Might as well just root and flash a ROM that has bln though.

This can be done on all the cm rom's under System Settings, display, automatic backlight, edit other levels. Screen and buttons back light levels can be adjusted.

RootDim allows you to turn off backlight using other lights but be careful not to turn off the LCD!

Possible to disable capacitive buttons?

Hey all, just as the subject says it's there a way to disable the capacitive buttons in build.prop or something? I have the lights turned off now but I still accidentally hit them. If anyone has some input please let me know! Thanks!

If you are on a custom Rom, then you should be able to remap them. Try to remap all the buttons to" no action"

That's a good idea, now to find a source based rom with good battery

The latest Rootbox builds have been pretty gentle on battery, support both ME's B20A1 and Smooch kernels, and allow for remapping the capacitive keys.
