[FIXED] Rooted & Unlocked - Recovery Mode not working? - Motorola Photon 4G

so I've rooted and unlocked (I've double checked) but I still can't access the recovery menu
I've tried the really easy way with ROM Manager (the free version)
I've tried using fastboot, but I don't know enough about the commands to get it into recovery mode
FYI, when I get it into recovery mode, its just the little android with a exclamation point sign next to it. no text, nothing at all
I swear I saw someone with this exact problem a few days ago, but I couldn't find it

I fixed it. apparently I hadn't unlocked properly, I had used the method that doesn't require flashing derpunlock.sbf
just flashed that and it worked fine

When you get the android with triangle exclamation mark. That's stock recovery to go into it press both up+dwn vol bttn.
For future reference I guess now

*FIXED*[Q] Help with CWM Recovery

I just unlocked and re-rooted (verified with root checker) and have tried flashing 3 different CWM recoveries via fastboot and cannot get into recovery. Always says the recovery flashed fine but when booting and trying to select from boot menu it I keep getting the black screen with the green android guy and exclamation mark.
What can I do to get recovery going so I can flash some roms?
*EDIT...I found a solution to this and got it going. Never do this while wrapped up in March Madness.
Same prob only exclamation guy through CM9 install, wiped phone and have no reboot into anything. Now phone won't hold charge enough to fast boot.how did you resolve your issue???

bricked no bootloader, recovery, RUU fails, windows wont recognize adb/fastboot

This phone belongs to my brother and I own the Sprint account. The phone wouldn't turn on at all even on bootloader after he tried to flash a mod. It was htc dev unlocked using Regawmod. Phone was running viper rom 1.2.1. Heres where he got the mod http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1609480 he downloaded one of the mods he cannot remember which one but they're all practically the same status bar mod except they're different colors. The thread belongs in the HTC One X device forums but ive heard of others flashing mods straight from there with no problems..I'm still surprised that it bricked the phone though..since it's just a MOD regardless I would expect twrp to just say "failed" but not brick the phone..so All was good until:
1. rebooted into twrp recovery (ver 2.1.8)
2. attempted to flash elegancia mod from one x forum
3. 1st time recovery displayed "failed"
4. he tried again 2nd time..twrp once more displayed "failed"
5. seeing that nothing happened and the flash simply failed, my brother chose the reboot option from twrp.
6. phone did not reboot
7. couldn't access bootloader at all no matter how many times we tried
8. holding down power button and power+vol up/down combinations [in desperation] did not do a thing no matter how long the buttons were held
9. RUU completely failed...it would not detect the phone..windows failed to recognize the phone but instead attempted to install drivers "QHSUSB_DLOAD" I had also forgotten that the bootloader must be relocked but that couldn't happen anyways since the bootloader was never accessible in the first place
10. opening the phone and unplugging battery and reconnecting did not do a thing
11. we're stuck with a brick..no bootloader access, no recovery, not even the power led displaying signs of life...nada.
12. my only hope is for a method to actually unlock the bootloader to be developed using the same method as made famous by the EVO 3d found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1547695 which actually BRICKs the phone by corrupting hboot when S-On,thus placing it into download/emmc mode. I assume it's in download mode since windows tried to install "QHSUSB_DLOAD" drivers but failed at that.
If anyone has a clue what I should do or knows of someone that can help then please let me know! Thanks!

Hopefully one day someone will figure this out with out actual casualties. Thanks all for your help. I'm getting a new one tomorrow.
I wanted to know if you found a solution because im dealing with a similar problem. I can cant access my phone manually or through fastboot
Linux will help you with download mode. There's threads on how to use ubuntu to unbrick. I'd find the thread for you, but am not in a position to do so.

S3 entered boot loop with red exclamation present

So I've been using my S3 GT-I9300 for a few weeks with Ultima Rom v13 and everything was fine until a few moments ago. My phone entered a boot loop. I cannot access recovery mode as the phone restarts a few seconds after the recovery menu opens and I cannot access download mode either as it also restarted a few seconds after i start download mode. I would take my phone in but the problem is that I have the red exclamation mark in the top left corner and don't know how it affects the warranty. This is the second time this has happened to me although the first time i did not have the red exclamation even though i was using a custom rom. The last time i gave it in for repairs my phone was ready for collection about 2 hours after I handed it in so I'm guessing there is a way to restore it. Anybody know how to deal with this?
You can only get rid of the exclamation mark by ressetting the flash counter, which you can't do because you can't boot to android.
You can try reflash stock rom via odin but I don't hold out much hope

Which is what I just said. Although not sure where you're getting "should help" from.since we dont know the root cause, we can't know the solution. Any amount of help we gauge is purely a guess

When you use flash counter reset on custom ROM, sometimes the count may still show 1 even after reset. I had this problem earlier before sending to warranty.
This is what I did to remove the ! mark and reset the counter to 0
1. Flash stock firmware (counter still will shows 1, don't worry.)
2. Root your device
3. Install flash counter and reset. Flash back stock firmware again. Reboot.
# In case you're stuck on bootloop after flashing stock firmware, get into recovery mode and factory reset your device. Reboot.
It worked for me, I hope it should workfor you too. In case you're stuck on bootloop after flashing stock firmware, get into recovery mode and factory reset your device. Reboot.
This is the second time I've had this happen to me. The problem is that I can't get into download mode because the phone reboots as soon as I open download mode. The first time i was on an older version without the red exclamation. Last time I gave it in my phone was ready a few hours later so I'm curios to know how else I can fix it
Seems like the power button is broken or stuck. Maybe thats why it keeps rebooting even in download or recovery.
So I was able to get it into download mode. What I did was plug it in to my PC then while it was rebooting i would enter download mode and before it rebooted again I removed the battery while it was still plugged in. This allowed me to press volume up and enter download mode. I am going to flash stock firmware and see what happened. It very strange though. It stays in download mode but as soon as i put the battery in the phone reboots. I'll see what happens after the flash
So i flashed the stock firmware and everything went fine according to Odin. When I put the battery back in the phone was still in a boot loop except there is no red exclamation mark.
For warranty purposes, would it still be valid id download mode says
Custom Binary Download: Yes (2 counts)
Current Binary: Samsung Official
System Status:Custom
No warranty is void with rom count and modified custom status .

having the same problem with the writer of this thread any update?

P760v20b problem

I have a version v20b on the phone stock 4.2.1. I use threads from xda forum, I went to unlock the bootloader with rom Toolkit 2.0. and click on the button unlockbootloader, phone start to restarting, then i click the volume + and get to that fastboot . Tan i click flash recovery, nothing has happened, try a combination of buttons (I do not know where that came from ) and my phone screen show dead android with red triangle over the belly. Remove the battery and start phone .Every data was lost. Phone now work. Now just have to mention that I am using the xda forum root phone without problems (I first did that than everything above). I am also on the internnet found the password for the hidden menu within I saw that it says bootloader unlock. Then I isntall rom manager and I try to get into recovery mode but again appear dead android with a red triangle. I would like to install cyanogen mod 11 but not know where to start and what to do?

Cant boot into recovery mode

I rooted my Xperia Z2 for the first time last night following these instructions and everything went fine.
Till morning I was able to "Reboot to Primary Recovery" using NDR Utils app which was already installed on the device after rooting it. I didnt touch any of the options in that menu and just rebooted the phone. Actually I did it twice and everything was working fine till then.
Now when I am trying to "Reboot to Primary Recovery" using NDR Utils app, my device just restarts normally and doesnt show up the recovery menu.
I tried searching the forum and even found similar posts but couldnt understand much of it as I am new to rooting and i had never done it before. I dont even know which steps I should follow given my situation that it was working just till the morning.
Can anyone please help me and provide me with detailed steps so that I could get that menu back?
Any help will be highly appreciated.
What did you do to lose it? Do you get the LEDs on boot? Do the the buttons do anything on boot?
Just reinstall twice http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2261606

Just plug your phone into your computer with USB Debugging turned on and rerun the install.bat file in the Z2-lockeddualrecovery2.x.xx-RELEASE.installer.zip you downloaded from the thread you followed to get root.
For some reason it gets lost sometimes, I'm not sure why. As long as you've still got root though you can rerun this to get the custom recovery back.

I dont know what I did to cause it. And I didnt get LEDs on boot. No, I tried several combinations from the internet, but none of them had any affect.
I tried it but it didnt solve the issue.
