Did you try doomlord's root method?

Thanks.
I read that this method doesnt work for 2.3.6 devices on another forum But i wiil try this. Thanks

SOC
Super One Click works for me... after root, install other rooted custom ROM!

I had this problem too and i tried almost all metods without success. I guess the only way is to install rooted rom . You should try this (for international version): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1446774

+1 just flash a custom ROM with Odin and you'll be rooted and get extra features plus its quite a bit quicker, superoneclick took my computer like 10 minutes to run and I can flash a ROM in like 2 minutes.

Hi guys. I am new to the android scene and right now i want to root my phone because of battery draining. My question is,can i root using chainfire's method because it said there that he only rooted with KDD. I have KE7 (GINGERBREAD.XWKE7).
That method is dead read

FWIW you can also root by flashing a rooted firmware, like VillainROM or Lite'ning, with Odin/Heimdall.
(Odin is more tried and tested but only runs on Windows. Heimdall also works though and is multiplatform - I use it on Linux.)
Thanks for the reply. My english is not that perfect and i didnt know what superceded meant hehe. Flashing a rom with included root sounds great. Btw can i flash litening when i have ke7? Because it didnt specify in the thread what kernel you need.

Thanks! Just rooted my stock phone and boy was that fast. Now i have another problem lol. I can't open market because i can't connect my google account. It says something like cannot connect to server, might be a problem with your network bla bla. I read that factory reseting the phone might make it work, but my question is,would resetting the phone remove superuser and that other app? (I think it was CMW)
Up /10chars
did you use a cusom rom?? at the moment its better to just root your device as all the roms are being constantly developed and bugs and eroors being fixed.. if you use a custom rom you will end up flashing your device quite often.. just my thoughts
Yes i rooted my phone only. But i need to know if resetting my phone would remove superuser and cwm not the root itself.
i have rooted mine and i dont get that problem... which rom did you use.. and yeah factory reset will remove those

[Q] root. stock froyo

Just bought my daughter a galaxy 5 I5500. it came with eclair update 1.

Yes, you can root after stock froyo update with universal androot.
there is the best froyo ROM here:-
http://www.madteam.co/forum/development/(re-release)-motafoca-froyo-2-0-9-rom-clockworkmod-edition/
if you want swap etc.
The on-device programs didnt work for me. I am also in the Uk but i want to steer clear of custom roms for now. But i just managed to root it using Superoneclick. good luck
yes... SuperOneClickv2.1.1 did not worked for me...
but SuperOneClickv1.9.1 worked for my GT-I5503_XME_I5503DXJP8_I5503DXJP7_I5503OLBJP7

[SOLVED] How to root SGS2 2.3.5 (XWKJ3) October Gingerbread?

Been looking around for ages and I can't find a proper way to root this build..
I've tried older kernels, different methods as well as different 1 click and non flash methods. Zergrush, gingerbreak etc.
I can't find any way to root this build. I really need root... Kind of makes the 25€ I spent on rooted apps totally useless without it :/ on top of that I need to be able to use Titanium backup and other dev tools without issues.
Has anyone been able to sucessfully root this build? I don't mind if there is no stock kernel avaliable. I just want an unsecured one so I can sucessfully root the build. I've looked everywhere and I can't find one.
Has someone made one? If not, will someone please make one. It's the newest official downloadable firmware for the SGS2.
P.S. I don't want a modded build rom that is already rooted. Because I dabble in some dev work and such I can't use a rom..
Thanks for any info, sorry if this has been asked somewhere but I've seen other people asking for an unsecure kernel for this version. Haven't found one anywhere or a way to root without...
Thanks in advance!

Use kj3 cf root, from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=14283342

I rooted my phone running on the same ROM (XWKJ3) by flashing Chainfire's CF-Root kernel for XW_KJ3.
So, that should work fine.
If not, Intratech described another rooting method (using the zergRush exploit) in his Quick Root Guide in the first post of his Official Firmware thread => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
This method seems to work very elegant, as you won't get a yellow triangle and the binary counter will not be incremented.
But I did not test this method myself.
Alternatively, you can flash another rooted kernel, which is compatible with the ROM.
Now I am running on SpeedMod K2-18 kernel, which is rooted and it works fine on my stock ROM XWKJ3 too.
Good luck !
Thanks a ton both you guys! I was able to root my phone with the link that veyka provided. But also thanks to It_ler for your help!
Thanked you both

[Q] Troubles with Rooting and Unrooting

Hello Everyone,
I am not new to android as I have had multiple android devices, however I purchased a SGS II from a friend and he rooted it. However, he does not remember what software he used to root it. So I used the one click method and it said it unrooted it no problem, however superuser and CWM is still installed and JD plus says it has root access. The kernel is XXKG3 and I installed and used it no problem. However, again when I go to CWM under current kernel: unknown. I tried everything I can think of, searched these forums the best I can and I still need help. Can anyone help me? If so, greatly appreciated.
Thank you for all your time
Have you tried flashing another kernel like siyah?
How will using that kernel help? Just out of curosity, I dont know too much
You have not searched properly. All you had to do was use the search button use a few keywords and boom you have the results. But anyway here i go.
To root go into Chainfires thread that is in the original development and look for cf-root kernels. Flash that through odin and it gives you root and cwm recovery and manager. Once you have done that it basically roots your phone. Now if you want to unroot all you have to do is flash official firmware from Intratechs thread again in original development section and your phone will be unrooted..Guides on how to do that are in both threads and at the first page. Now this is were you come in
Read read read...read the information given in those threads and you should understand more and you should be fine. good luck
I did do my research, I must have missed them. I will be trying this tomorrow, thank you!!!
Just flash a stock rom and then flash cf-root kernel mate..

You don't really need a good computer to flash back to stock, just a USB cable. The easiest way is to flash back to stock JFD 2.1 with Odin and then root your phone with update.zip B, reboot to recovery and reinstall packages twice then flash the ROM (twice also if going to JB 4.2). Here is a link for both flashing to stock and rooting with update.zip B http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=849028 . If you decide to stay on 2.2 you will have to use the modified 3e recovery zip, I have never done this so can't really explain how to do it, here is the link though http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=833423.

Try update.zip A from the first link I provided, it should root your phone. Then you can use the 3e method. I've never had to do this myself so sorry I don't have a straight answer for you.

Yes I rooted my phone with Update.zip B, it doesn't actually root but it gives you CWM and you can flash a custom ROM, they all come pre rooted. You should really flash back to stock if possible, it's very easy from stock 2.1. I'll do some research and see what I can come up with but stock 2.2 has a bunch of issues with rooting and installing CWM, this is why everyone recommends flashing to stock 2.1 (JFD)
Edit - it appears superoneclick 2.3.1 works for some people on stock Froyo (2.2). Here is the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1146645 If you get it rooted on stock 2.2 you will still have to do the 3e recovery step FYI

Thanks for the reply. Sad news. I used Kies Mini to update and everything went fine until the reboot. well it didnt reboot, my phone is officially bricked. I bought a JIG to see if it would help wake it in Download but it does not. I have read that you can open the phone and do some soldering to get the phone back but it seems like too much for this phone. If you have any suggestions that would be fantastic.. Thanks again for your reply.
