you might wanna check the firmware you are on. I know that the latest elegancia runs on the latest 3.2xxx firmware. If im right the ARHD does as well. if something isnt booting or giving a bootloop. most likely its a firmware issue. i learned that the hard way lol. go through the thread and check to see if the rom you are trying is compatible with the firmware thats currently on your phone
i had something with 3.32 on arhd installed, and now seems to me that i got 1.78.401.2...
before elegancia i was on this one:

now i'm on this one:

ok, got it. i have flashed from the 3.32.401.x firmware to 1.78.401.2 and now is my question, how could i flash back the firmware to 3.32.401.x
bootloader is unlocked, s-on
guys, i dont know how i did it, just flashed one rom after another, phone never accepted any "PG58IMG.zip" , but somehow i got on ICS Stock Rom with 3.32.401.3 RUU.

Hello,
I am trying to get viperROM to work correctly on my Evo 3D. I would have posted in that thread but I don't have 10 posts yet so I'm not allowed...
I wasn't thinking and I accepted the OTA update when it came out.
So I used this tutorial and did the HTC unlock and then flashed CWM 4.0.1.4 to my phone.
I used CWM to back up my stock ROM, then I used it to install viperROM.
Well, it worked except for the fact that the WiFi wouldn't turn on. It just said "Error".
I have been reading these forums for hours now and my eyes are glazing over but I figure it's something to do with the radio I guess?
I tried to do some forum searches but the search function is apparently down for nightly maintenance.
Anyways, I restored my backup and thank God WiFi is working again.
Can someone please point me in the right direction to fixing this?
Thanks.
Did you do a full wipe before you installed viperRom?
I don't believe you can use Viperrom on your phone because it is a 2.3.3 rom and your kernel is only for 2.3.4 roms. When you took the OTA and your phone upgraded to the 1.50 bootloader you lost the ability to install kernels and write to the boot partition. With out the proper kernel you will have problems running any 2.3.3 roms properly. Look for a rom that is already upgraded to 2.3.4 and give that a try. For now I would flash back to stock and wait for Viperboy to update his rom.
help please?
I try RCMIX 2.2.3 and recover HTC Rom but stcuk boot HTC logo.
Can i replaces viperROM ? how i can?
I'm Newbie.
Thanks

Yes, I did both of the wipes that it prompted before installing it.

Hye...1st of all, sorry for my bad english...
I have questions about installing mdeejay virtous ics 3.0.2 rom
My e3d is hboot .0011 s-on,
i am using 4ext recovery
1)can i safely install the new firmware without s-off
2)if it safe, can anyone show me how to install it till.it complete?
Sorry if this question has been asked before, sorry for my nood question...
Thx...hope to get answer asap...
without S-OFF firmware won't upgrade, but you still can flash the rom, i tried this morning, i am S-ON and all went fine (needed to flash boot.img separatly).

He already has an ICS Leedroid tweaks. Look in the dev section.
No you can not install the firmware with s on however as stated you can flash the Rom and what ever you do don't even think of flashing the firmware with s on you need to be s off to do that

This is quite nice Rom, but procedure is badly described. I tried Rom but it restarted itself couple of times to i reverted back to Cobra. If this doesn't improve i'll also wait for LeeDroid or Cobra.
First to clarify, i have an "unbranded" (asian) HTC Amaze (which is also known as HTC RUBY).
I'm on stock ROM 2.3.4 and it is un-updatable officially.
So... I unlocked my bootloader, then i installed 4EXT recovery, then i S-OFFed my device (which somehow locked my recovery again), then i rooted it.
Now, when i flash a custom rom (Cyanogenmod JB 4.1.2 official), it gets stuck on the boot screen (the rotating cyanogenmod logo).
I have backed up my rom in the recovery, so i can restore it and get back to where i was.
Basically i want to know what I'm doing wrong or if I've missed an step.
I haven't Super-CID it yet, is it really necessary? And i also can't seem to update my hboot, but isn't 4ext supposed to do that for me?
You forgot to install the ICS firmware. You can't install an ICS ROM while on Gingerbread. You need to first upgrade to ICS, then you may start flashing ROMS.
This thread has it, and all of what you need.

Oh... So according to the article, i just download that ROM, rename it to PH85IMG.zip and flash it via bootloader.
After that i should be able to install any ROM i want right? Including the Cyanogenmod JB 4.1.2 one?
----
Oh and just to update, I've also updated my bootloader to the latest 1.93.2222 one. Working all fine.
I've also run the SuperCID batch script, and it seemed to work, but It isn't showing any CID status on my bootloader. Maybe it will once i flash the ICS ROM on it.
HURRAY! It worked. I'm using the T-Mobile ICS ROM right now without any issues. I think I'm going to stick with this for a while before i try the Cyanogenmod 4.1.2 one.
Thanks a lot Afnan dude, your one short reply was enough to solve my issue. Haha
Hello! I have unlocked BL, and I installed the mysense-dx rc 3.5 on my DX, with the attached kernel.
Yesterday, I try to flash mysense-dx5 rc 4.0, without the kernel. I wiped, flashed the ROM and after the HTC logo, it shows a black screen. I didn't flash the kernel attached to mysense dx 5, I used the rc3.5's kernel. The same happened with InsertCoin, too. The problem is with the kernel? But they wrote, these ROMs shuld work on every kernel. Can it be another problem?
Are you S-ON or S-OFF? Probably S-ON. If so, flash the kernel manually. Take the kernel (boot.img) out of the ROM-zip. Use the search on XDA to find out how to flash with fastboot.
But they wrote, the mysense dx5 shuld work on every kernel. So why it doesn't work on rc3.5's kernel??

Just give it a try, as suggested. I still don't know if you are S-ON or S-OFF. What HBoot version do you have?
I'm S-ON and I have JB bootloader(1.25xxx)

Then the solution for you is to flash the kernel manually because of S-ON. Again: to start, best is to flash the kernel which comes with the ROM.
Maybe the problem is that you use an ICS kernel (v3.5) for a JB ROM (v.4)
Thanks. But if I take a nandroid backup from my current rom and my current boot, than flash the sense 5 ROM and the kernel and i don't like the new ROM, can I restore the previous ROM and the boot? Sorry for stupit questions, but i restored the system a lot of times, but I'm not sure I can restore the boot, because S-ON. Can I restore?

You can restore the ROM-image. I don't remember well if the kernel gets restored also. Most of the time I flash the kernel manually. If you are on JB, use JB-recovery and JB-ROM/kernel.
Advise: stick to S-ON and learn to use fastboot-command for flashing kernel. It is just 1 DOS-command, clean and safe. Don't mess around with old software which tells you that 'it is very easy to use'.
Interesting forum: this one and this one, read #5.
