Wipe cache manuallyin CWM and it'll fix it. As for pulling the battery just press and hold the power button and it'll force restart.
If that doesn't fix it, flash another rom that has it working. Some so called "developers" refuse to say their rom has "bugs", but in fact has this bug and more.

That's true for some roms. I'm using the Team Perfection Rom and some people think its a bug on that one. It happened to me even, but if ya wipe all cache manually it will fix it 100%

If you can get into recovery mode (shut off phone, once its off then hold power, volume UP and home button together until the Galaxy s I9100 splash screen shows, then immediately let all buttons go and it will take you into recovery) from there you use the volume rocker to make selection and home key to enter selection. There is an option to factory reset in this recovery menu.
Hope that helps...
Thanks for the reply but the problem is the screen has broke so it wont display anything.

Did you setup the samsung security tracking? You can do a remote wipe of the phone with it via samsungdive.com

Maybe you can get a MHL adapter and plug it on your TV, I wonder if it works if its on recovery mode.
Hi,
Thank you for samsungdive.com website. Couldn't find this.

goto recovery
press VOL DOWN twice, press power button
press VOL UP 5 times, press power button
Would it not be easier to flash a stock firmware via ODin .
Vol Down + Power + Home wait a second or two then volume up .
Connect cable and flash stock or original rom .

Flash a rom which has advanced power menu then select reboot after pressing power button. (most roms have this)
Or there is an app called quick boot or fast boot something like that. You can reboot using that as well.

a million thanks, that's what I was looking for.
I have tried it. The phone was off but it never boot again. Just stay off. Am I making any mistake? Whenever I press and hold the power button, on the screen will appear several choices, one of them is the power off. But I just ignored it and keep pressing the power button.

+1, the phone does not reboot, just switches off. Need to power up again!
Push and HOLD all together: Volume up, on/off and Menu Key.
After some seconds it reboots (still hold the keys) and it runs in a selection menu. Here you can select " Warmstart" or clear cache before and then do a Warmstart.
Nothing will be destroyed, because its NOT a Factory reset (Coldstart).
???? Some crazy suggestions here.
Anyway, get SwitchPro widget (from the Market). There's a reboot button in it that pops up a menu for reboot, download or recovery.
It needs root to work. Any software method of rebooting your device will need root.

Okay, in that case, you need to use the power menu that you have to turn the phone off, and turn it back on again.

Which phone are these options on???
Warmstart ?? or do you just mean reboot which is the same as powering phone off and then on via power button and avoids recovery menu .

Hi.
I was wondering if there is a way to boot into recovery, or get into the recovery when the phone is off. I've done a lot of searching, but the ways described will not work (power on with left and right key under the display pressed down)
Does anyone have any solid knowledge on this? It would be much appreciated.

U have to turn on phone and (if u have doomkernel) keep pressing back when blue led appears. If not just keep pressing back when u turn on till it appears (it's not back and menu at same time it either or and menu won't do anything unless u have doomkernel
Sent from my X10 using XDA
I could be wrong but as I understand it you must have power from the device in order to access recovery as recovery is either in kernel (ubl) or on nand,, both can only be supplied power from the handset, you cannot use them like an external drive.

Laneyofdeath: thank you, it worked. Strange that this information is so hard to find. Anyways, i appreciate it
And for the other reply, i know i need power, but i wanted to boot into recovery from off status. Perhaps i did not explain myself good enough.

Not sure what u mean pal. Do u mean boot to recovery whilst device is switched off?
Sent from my X10 using XDA
There are just no button combinations for recovery for the X10.
The only way to get into recovery is to spam the back(xrec)/volume down(cwm) when the kernel boot screen lights up.
What i meant was to get into recovery from when the device is off. And power + hit backbutten when le wild blue light appears worked ;-) thank you guys for your help

solution for Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10i with Recovery menu
turn off the phone then turn it on and keep toggling between the up and the down volume button
works for x10i
After installing Objection RC1, when trying to shut down my phone it will hang shutting down and not shut off. I have to do a battery pull to turn off the phone. any fix for this?
Ya have to manually clear all cache without using the dark side wipe. I had the same problem and it cleared it up!
Also ya don't have to do the battery pull. Just hold the power button down and it will force a restart.

Did you try to wipe battery status in xRecovery?
When?
Sent from my X10i using xda app-developers app
Do you have xRecovery or CWM Recovery installed in your device?
If yes, you can do this:
- Charge your phone to 100%;
- Unplug the charger and turn you phone off;
- Hold the back button and turn your phone on;
- When Sony Ericcson logo appears, you will notice that the status led of your phone will be on. You can release the back button now;
- A recovery menu will appear. Use volume rockers to navigate, home button to choose an option and back button to back (lol);
- Navigate and find the option "wipe battery status", it's in one of the last menus;
- Reboot your phone, and see if the battery is 100%.
You can see the procedure here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=943626
I will try this.
