[Q] RecoveryBootloop(TF = Unknown device).. help!! - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

Hey xda,
I've a big problem..
Today i've flashed the Gummy 1.2.5 rom(downloaded with goo manager) and wanted to go directly from the goo manager, when the download has been finished, into the recovery..
Everything is gone well except the reboot from the OS. I got stuck at the recovery and i'm not able to do anything with adb(Diamondback's Thread) because my PC doesn't recognize the TF (No USB-Port and also tried on 2 different Laptops..).
Whats ur suggestion now? i really do not know what to do. Please give me some good advice that i'm possible to fit this ****** problem. I cant live without it i've u know what i mean .
P.s Sorry for the bad english.. and i'm lookin forward for some good replys

Kiitos ;D
and also thanks to sammytheman.
So what do I have to do now? I'm a little noob sorry. Connect the prime and try to install them?
Edit1: I first uninstalled the driver and reboot the pc.. then when i search the .inf file it doesnt show me one.. the big problem is that its always a "unknown device" isnt it?

On the attached thumbnail I can see the driver android_winusb.inf. If that fails you can try in 'Browse for driver software on your computer'(left picture) the 'Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer'. And then browse to where you placed the nakeddrivers.

Yea the 2.step on the picture is this "let me pick.. blabla" option.. It doesn't fit the driver issue at all ahh am i really not able to install the drivers or whats wrong?
Edit1: I tried to do so as you've decribed but now when the prime gets connected, the PC doesn't show up anything.. Any suggestions or is it game over? ;(

I don't know what else to do. I'm not that experienced in Android stuff.
But you can try anyways 'adb devices' when connected with the pc.
Maybe you are able to be in fastboot mode.
Come on guys, help him!

Thank you samy for the help Hm ;(
If i take it to RMA(or my repair service) will they repair it or may they send it back without doing anything, because its unlocked?? anyone some experience?? Please some answers..

Just a while ago a thread was open where people told that asus had repaired and flashed stock rom to their unlocked primes. Obviesly that doesn't mean that asus will do it for every unlocked prime in the future.

ok if you have not yet installed a custom recovery and have the the optimus p500 and your phone is not working or booting up then when you boot you can press the power button the volume down key and the home button all at the same time it should do a factory reset on your phone and it will boot up like it is the first time you ever turned on your phone if you do have a custom recovery installed then it will boot into your custom recovery and you should be able to flash the zip file from the ROM you wanted to install???? so basicly im asking what happeneds when you boot pressing the power, volume down, and home button at the same time????

[Q] X10i missing flashmode drivers?

My x10i keeps showing android system not responding after i flashed a xperiaTW custom ROM by wolfbreak. I tried to flash a stock firmware using flashtool but it kept saying, ERROR , please install or reInstall Drivers. I assume that the computer could not detect that my phone is in flashmode. The point now is, i tried using PC companion to repair the drivers, they asked me to Drag the notification bar down and click Mount, but my phone system is not responding. if i click wait or force close, it will pop back up again. and it wont respond to my touches at all. So im like stuck at the home page. Is my phone like dead now or what?

Look in Device manager while your phone is plugged...is there some device with an error.
Maybe its the usb drivers or ADB drivers. Look and tell what is the device that have problems. Maybe I can guide you how to install it's drivers.
Possible solution
Hi.
Actually, I believe the solution is very simple.
Just install "Sony Ericsson Update Service" (alias SEUS) from Sony Ericsson website and it will install the needed drivers.
It happened to me, and I solved it that way.
Good luck!

The installing of SEUS will not do the trick, he has to put the phone in flashmode in order to SEUS to install the driver.
But, SEUS installs only usb drivers. If the problem is ADB101 driver it will not help!
Look inside the flashtool folder, you will see a drivers folder and inside that there's a installer for drivers.

My apologies G...just had a rough day.
Anyway yeah OP doesn't like to read. He/she got another thread or 2 in here about the flashtool. I pointed OP to the tutorial that Reindero made, which IMO is idiot proof, but the questions that get asked are mind blowing. We were all noobs at one point and I mean I understand if what you are asking is NOT well documented but common....did you even bother reading any of the steps??? Anyway that's my rant for the today.

Bricked my TF201 by changing build.prop

I have changed the build.prop of my rooted TF201 to play the gameloft games.
After changing the TF201 got stuck in a bootloop. I tried the hard reset but it is still not starting.
I read that it is possible to push the orginal build.prop to the TF201 via APX-Mode but i dont now how to do it.
My computer recognizes the TF201 as a Asus Transformer Prime APX mode or in MTP when i start it regular. Unfortunatly i can not get any access to the Data of my TF201.
Is Asus able to see the root and that i changed the build.prop if i sent it to RMA?
Would be so happy if anybody could help me.
Thank you.
(And i know it was stupid to change the build.prop but didnt expected to brick it http://media.xda-developers.com/images/icons/icon9.gif)
Hi there.
I had a week of the same problem. I hadn't deleted anything but mine was in the boot loop too. After trying everything I managed to reinstall the OS by:
1. Downloading firmware from Asus site (it must be same or later version as installed already and must be the one for your region - if you don't know your current version, the small text described in step 4 below will tell you and step 4 can be done multiple times)
2. Freshly formatting a micro SD card with FAT
3. Placing the ZIP file (the zip inside the zip that Asus provide) in the root of SD CARD
4. Restarting the tablet by holding power and volume down until small text appears at top of screen at which point press volume up
Your tablet will boot from the SD card and reinstall your OS.
ALL DATA WILL BE LOST but you'll have a working tablet.
Cheers.

Can't you push the original build.prop via ADB Shell when it's almost booted up?
Code:
adb mount -o ro,remount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 /system
adb push c:\...\build.prop /system/

Mine shows up, but only when "Camera (PTP)" is selected instead of "Media device (MTP)" in the "Settings >> Storage >> USB computer connection" section.
But of course, that won't help you in this case since you can't change this setting.
I can't find anything about having to switch to PTP for ADB to work so you may want to post a question about it in the Q&A forum.
A guy had the exact same problem here last week after changing the build.prop for the exact same reason. He was able to recover his problem using the same method that the root scripts use for writing to data. Let me try and find the thread and you can try to contact him.
EDIT: Here you go.

I actually dont know what version is on my Prime. I did the official update two weeks ago. So it is probably V9.4.2.11.
I have a app called "adb made easy" on my pc and this on can not find my device.

It stays constantly in the boot animation.
and adb made easy doesn't have your device listed?
What if you "open CMD for ADB commands" and then in that window type "adb devices" without the quotation marks?
Also what does windows device manager show with regards to android devices?
EDIT: unplug and plug back in a couple of times, does windows make it's usual connection noises?

adb made easy and cmd dont show any adb devices.
the devices manager shows
mobile devices: Asus Android MTB Device (could not be started)
windows is always making the pluggingsound
Wierd, ADB should still see the device as it seemed to when the other guy screwed his build.prop
If I reboot, ADB picks up the device during the boot animation and lets me start interacting straight away.
EDIT: Unfortunately, without ADB, I'm not gonna be able to help any further. Hopefully the guy how recovered his from this state will pop in and be able to help you out.
When and where did you get the device from. If you're still in your return window and feel like being dishonest, then you could take it back to the shop and ask for a replacement. However, if it has to go back to ASUS, I'm fairly certain that they would pick this up straight away, I could be wrong though. They may just look at it see it doesn't boot, reflash it and then test it and send it back.

QUESTION!
Good evening all. I'm brand spankin' new to this and have a question (which is more of an issue ).
So..
Rooted my Prime, and the "Unlock Device Tool" gives me the following error message: "An unknown error occurs, which may be a network connection issue. please wait and try again later".
Now, I've installed everything correctly and noticed a similar thread regarding this, but the verbatim of the error message was different. I'm unable to boot into recovery--when I do, the Android falls down with an exclamation mark coming out of his chest. Poor guy, must be painful..
Anyway, can anyone lend me a hand?
Thanks in advance.
Maybe you should install CWM recovery first...
You can use ROMManager to do this.
Oh and we guys here in these forums love to see actual thread titles...
Oh and we love to have threads in the right section too...
Diamondback is correct, we do like thread titles.......but I would also try looking to make sure when you have your prime plugged in via usb to your computer that you have the correct drivers installed I had that issue as well till I put the right drivers in. I used the naked drivers posted here works great has I have 4 android devices and it doesnt require to reinstall a driver for each device everytime you connect the device to the computer.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1426502&highlight=naked
And boom goes the dynamite..
I apologize, gentleman..I thought I had constructed an appropriate thread title and posted in the correct forum. Apparently, I was mistaken.
Regardless, your suggestion (Ultraman666) did the trick. I really appreciate your help! Thanks a bunch! Huge help. Pumped.
Awesome glad to help at one point or another we have all been there!!!!

The issue was bad drivers. Download the naked drivers utility, duly linked by Ultraman666, and follow through with whatever it needs and you should be fine.

BTW, OP, as stated a little more in the title will pull more people that know what's up to the thread. As it is right now you're just catching us Curious Georges. Anyway, welcome, glad the issue is solved!

It's a wrong point bro.
May I explain:
Already upgrade .21
Now, if I want to root I have to do some steps:
1. Unlock bootloader
2. Install CVW
3. downgrade to .15 via CVW
4. Root with viperMOD PrimeTime v4.5
Normally, step 1 will run without any issue. this time always receive this error:
"An unknown error occurs, which may be a network connection issue. please wait and try again later"
It only run on the tablet, no need to connect to PC so I'm quite sure it not the driver problem.

Got ya. So you're voiding warranty just as a round-a-bout for root?
I'm not sure what the issue would be, and ASUS doesn't seem too keen on providing support even for the unlock utility. Keep looking around, maybe try PM'ing Gary from one of his stickies; let us know if you find a solution.

Same problem here
Anyway I try downloading flashtool and in the driver folder ( inside flashtool folder) there is an installer try install it when there are check box check them all and install
After that fastboot mode should be working
This is the easiest way to install fastboot driver, I think
It works for me

Just get the flashtool from here:
http://androxyde.github.com/
Install it (make sure you disable your antivirus while downloading).
Open C:\Flashtool\drivers and install the drivers.
Its the easiest way as Theonlyzii mentioned.
Theres workaround in general forum.
You must FAST!
Open device manager first
When you plugged in ur device with fast boot mode there should be a new driver detected on device manager,. Right click and update driver( you must fast before its disappear). After you succesfully install the driver now you can reconnect ur device in fastboot mode.
Hope this help. You might want to search that workaround im talking about for clearer instruction.

Thanks all!!
Finally I could succeed unlocking the bootloader with the way of installing the driver from flashtool that you advised me!
I was not able to this method on my Windows8 RP PC, and I did not find the reason why I cannot. And I succeeded this on another Windows 7 PC! Thanks to you, I could notice that.
And for you, ankh.red,
I was trying it many times because my Xperia U turn off the blue LED soon(around 3 seconds). But it was always failing detecting any driver after I catch my Xperia U on the Device Manager. Of cource I had a driver from Sony's official page.
I think windows8 will need some change to do this. I have found on web someone who succeeded it on Windows8...
Anyway, I was helped by you! Thank you!! I will search next interesting things on the rooted from now!

Dont wanna start another thread so im just going ask here:
1. Why the speaker is so quite or is it just me?!
2. How can i root without unlocking bootloader since i dont wanna loose drm files( did they even important?! )
3. If there be some forum just for xperia U/P or we need to post in this ection....
P.S. previousely iv had xperia x8 so im new with this xperia, and sorry if this questions are already answered....
1. Enable xLoud in Settings>Sound
2. Not yet possible. I believe DRM is some protection given to music files bought legally. I think you might not be able to play such files (correct me if I'm wrong)
3. Not yet. Many have requested mods. No seperate sections

thank you sir. perhaps someone can upload the latest one to a more useful temporary upload site, like yousendit perhaps? i am trying that older version though... i just need it for the drivers due to the fastboot won't activate the driver search and the XperiaU just continues to charge instead of remaining in fastboot.

Same problem here
Anyway I try downloading flashtool and in the driver folder ( inside flashtool folder) there is an installer try install it when there are check box check them all and install
After that fastboot mode should be working
This is the easiest way to install fastboot driver, I think
It works for me

For Windows 8 users. The drivers cannot be installed because of the driver signature enforcement.
This is how to disable it.
First, press win + I to launch the charm bar, and click Change PC Settings at the bottom.
Then, go to General, and scroll to the bottom of the page, click Restart Now button under Advanced Startup section.
The computer reboots to a startup menu, in which click Troubleshoot.
And click Advanced Options at next screen.
Choose Startup Settings next And click Restart button.
The computer reboots and prompts another menu to choose. One of the items is to Disable driver signature enforcement. Press number 7 or F7 to continue booting to Windows 8 with digital sign enforcement disabled.
Hope that helps
