Hello all,
I do not have a lot of posts, so cannot post in the DEV thread.
Also I think it is good to discuss it separately not to spam the DEV thread.
For the ones having uppercase problems:
Press the text input box for some time and a popup will appear for input method. Use Android Keyboard. Done.
Several people asked is it ok for everyday use - yes it is. Using it for a week without problems. Got only a reboot twice by disconnecting the phone from the USB cable with 3.1. Do not get it now with 3.2.1. I got no random reboot so far, expect after FC with 3.2 and root explorer.
About the updates:
You can update all the time to copy the last package as update.zip to your sdcard and then running xrecovery 'install update.zip' method. When I first went from SE to Cyan 3.1 the phone stuck on reboot. Went to xrecovery and did a factory reset and the phone booted normally (with Cyan and not the SE stock).
If you check the contents of the .zip it's easy to understand what will get updated.
About current problems:
Besides the one described by owain, I get forced closed when the market starting to install any application and when running root explorer with 3.2 and 3.2.1 (which has no update regarding these). Also for root explorer I get a reboot after FC. With 3.1 both was working fine. I've seen some changes in the zips that I do not understand the reasons for (why ADWLauncher.apk and MarketUpdater.apk was totally removed from /system/app, things like that).
I will continue to report here if the thread will not get removed. Please try to be specific about your experiences to help the other users.
Thanks a lot,
arch
I try to create an inventory of exact issues and solutions below:
Issue #1: No uppercase
Solution: Press any text input box for some time and a popup will appear to choose an input method. Use Android Keyboard. Done.
Issue #2: There are no zoom buttons in the browser.
Solution: Go to settings within the browser, disable/enable zoom controls. They will be visible thereafter.
Issue #3: Market stoppes working in the moment after the installation of an application finishes (forced close).
Solution: None so far. Tried this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11708912&postcount=479), but it was not working for me (caould not install Vending.apk). If someone could post exact steps to reproduce, it would be fine.
Issue #4: Root explorer gets a forced closed on restart. Get an 'SD card safe to remove message' and a reboot soon thereafter.
Solution: None so far.
Issue #5: Disconnect from a running PPTP VPN connection. Get an 'SD card safe to remove message' and a reboot soon thereafter.
Solution: None so far.
Issue #6: Keyboard backlight is still on after sliding back the keyboard.
Solution: It has some timeout. After a while, the backlight is switched off.
Issue #7: Sym(bol) button not working
Solution: After pressing it (blue+sym) press space and a pop-up will appear for selection. If you don't see the char you wish for, blue + long press the key which likely has it as an alternative (instead of pressing sym). E.g. long pressing blue + Z (which is 3) will give you 3, 3/4, 3/8.
hi everybody
it seems like we've got an incredibly smooth and fast rom so far. everything works flawlessly
I still have only 2 small (really small) issues:
1) changing language on a hardware keyboard. on a stock SE rom there was a tiny selection box on a screen. now there's nothing. I just can't change language on a hardware kb...
2) there's no zoom buttons in a browser.
is it bugs or just my stupidity? if someone will help me, I'll appreciate it a lot
bw, have anyone noticed the same things or maybe it's just my install ?

This my first post i think, but I've been watching this forum for a while for updates.. Thanks for making this post.. I was just going to spam the forum with posts so i could post in the development thread. But then i happen to find this thread.
Does anyone have the original camera apk? or would it NOT work?
The basic one on 2.2 is UGLY and not very good for the small screen. Also the file names are annoying.
I find the original one on 2.1 was alot better, it fit the screen better. Also i like how it saves the files as DSCxxxxx made it really easy to use.
Vignette takes way too long and does NOT flow well. (takes long to save photos + You can't press the camera button to get back to taking photos.
The original one on the 2.1 firmware flowed well and you could take pictures easily.
If not can anyone recommend an app that works just like it, or really similar?
sym key
Damn me... i see your thread just when i post a thread for the sym key... :-|
By the way, the sym key doesn't work as expected, it doesn't pop up special characters, special punctuation marks and emoticons selection (as it does in SE stock rom).
Anyone with the same issue?

It's a known issue of this ROM. You can type special carakters like "ä" by (in this case) long pressing the "a", "ö" long pressing the "o" and so on.
for capital letters you have to do this:

Hi to all, this is one of my first posts here (maybe the first).
I've just installed this custom rom, i had some trouble with the market solved installing market.zip as suggested in the official thread of this CyanogenMod 3.2.1 and now it seems working fine.
I've just a question about the next apk installation... where install them? Or better, wich settings use?
I mean...
go in Settings > CyanogenMod settings > Application settings
have I to select "Allow application moving"?
And then change something in "Install location"?
By the way I prefer to install the applications in the sd card because of previous problems of full memory with Android 2.1.
Please tell me something about this question and sorry fo my poor english
so for me all is well done but bluetooth is still not working, only after the 1st boot
but after deaktivating und aktivating threre is no blutooth again.
Is there a fix posible ?

Dear all,
I put a 3.2.1b ROM here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=982489
Couldn't help much with application install, bluetooth, just checked and merged the sources from owain and nobodyAtall.

HardWare Keyboard Thread

Thanks a lot mate!
I did this basic setup for my woot acquired GTAB. The primary reason was to keep the stock ROM but get the fully functional Android Market. I wanted to give these instructions out to real newbies who may want to do the bare minimum to keep their TAB up and running with all apps and without doing a flash with custom ROM. I wanted to include a more step by step for people who are less tech savvy so please bear with the details if you are a tech guy.
1. Get the Over The Air update to update to 3588. The OTA push happens automatically if you have connectivity (wifi is setup). You can also check it via the updates app that should have come with the stock ROM.
2. Download the enhancement pack - TnT Enhancement Pack v3.1.4b file from http://www.megaupload.com/?d=74HGJNEL to your desktop or laptop. The file name should be TnT_Enhancement_3389_v3_1_4b.rar
3. Try opening the file using winzip or any zip program. If it doesn't install winrar version available at http://www.win-rar.com/download.html.
4. Extract contents to a local folder on your computer using the zip/ winrar program. It has files update.zip, a recover folder that contains a command file
5. Connect your TAB to the computer with the min-usb cable and activate the usb transfer (I think it comes up with that option)
6. GTAB should show up as another drive in your system. With windows explorer browse this drive to locate the "sdcard" folder.
7. Copy the update.zip and recover (containing command file) folder from the location you extracted on your computer (step 4) into the sdcard folder identified on step 6.
8. Power off
9. Power on by pressing and holding the volume + button and the power button simultaneously.
10. The TAB should show a open box screen in a few seconds and after some time should turn back on to the main screen with new apps installed. You should see the market apps icon as well
11. Do the market fix remedy to see all applications in the market by steps below. I added an alternate market fix (if you don't see all apps)
a) Run market
b) Open settings->applications->system applications
c) Force close Google Services Framework, then Force Close Market
d Go back to Google Services Framework, then clear data
e) Run market and confirm you get an error
f) Reboot
g) Wait 2 minutes and try Market to get all applications
h) If this doesn't work, look at the directions again and make sure you follow them exactly
Alternate market fix Steps - I haven't tested this but looks like a few extra steps (You need Titanium Backup installed and have opened Market and surfed around a bit. Thanks to blackjaguar who pointed to this)
1. Settings->Applications->System applications->Market then Clear Cache (if any) then Force Stop
2. Go back one and then Google Services Framework then clear data then Force Stop
3. Go to home and open Titanium Backup
4. Select Backup/Restore tab
5. Select Google Services Framework
6. Select Wipe Data
7. Go to home and open market (it will error and close)
8. Reboot your tablet
9. Open Market and you will have full market
The above steps are detailed in another thread
The below steps are the bare action items from this detailed link

Almost
I just got my gtab from woot and basically wanted the same thing you did: the stock gtab plus the market. I followed your directions after spending the last week reading the massive amounts of posts on this forum. The only thing I did differently was installing CWM between steps 1 and 2, and repartitioning to the recommended 2048/0. It seemed like most people end up having to do that at some point. Your market fix however, didn't work at all for me. There's another fix posted by tsm26 that worked great for me. Its slightly different:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12563333&postcount=4400
The only app I still can't find in the market is Firefox, but luckily its available from ftp.mozilla.org.
EDIT: Just got the acore process problem, and had no contacts or /data/data folder at all. Used this fix and the problem is gone. Looks like it works for TnT Enhanced as well:

I am going to update this with alternate market fix for anyone who is interested. Thanks.
Step 6 confused?
Just received my gtab and following your steps to install this upgrade, however after connecting gtab to laptop I see 4 folders at the root of "E:" when browsing through windows. I assume that "E:" is the sdcard directory and these folders are located in it. The folders I can see in this directory under the windows "E:" drive are - .android_secure, Android, DCIM & LOST.DIR. However if I browse to the "sdcard" folder using the file explorer on my gtab I don't see the .android_secure folder, but do see a folder called "update.zip", that I don't see when browsing the "E:" drive in windows. Now I am really confused? Do I delete or rename the "update.zip" directory currently residing in the "sdcard" directory on the gtab and then copy over the recover and update.zip folders that I just downloaded?
My tap ui version is 1.1-3389.
Are there any suggestions?
I think you need to disable the USB sharing and you will see the files.
This worked like a charm. I decided not to root and mod, at least for now, so getting the market is great. I didn't show the sdcard directory, but I had update and an empty recovery directory, so I just replaced them (after copying the old update.zip). It wiped out the photos and videos apps on my main screen, but I found some interesting replacements. And the market fix worked great too.
But I still can't find Words With Friends... Just checked the market from my laptop and it thinks it's not compatible with my device. Oh well.
I followed the instructions to the T and the market wont work... someone please help!!!!!
The first set of instructions did not work for me, but the alternate set did work. I now appear to have a full market. Awesome!
Just for the record, I am running the stock ROM updated to the latest VS release.
EDIT: Whoops, spoke too soon. No apps will download from the Market. When I try to download a free app, I get a "Starting download..." message but that's it. I'm also doing this at work... I think port 5228 might be blocked. Is this the reason? I will attempt from home tonight...
Help!

I've gotten to this point, but how long is some time, it has never turned back on to the main screen and now really won't boot at all, just goes to a blank screen and sit there.
Any ideas? Any help would be appreciated! Hope I haven't done something terribly wrong!
Spoke too soon?
Maybe I spoke too soon. Doing the market fix got me a lot more on the market, but there's still a lot of apps that I can't get. So many devs put their apps in market and nowhere else. Don't they realize that this is not itunes? (BTW, I've hit web sites that send me to itunes to download their apps...) How many other devices has google not approved for the market and are stuck like this? Even Firefox is undownloadable on my Android. Is that really the market fix or should I be able to access more?
So frustrating, but finally something seems to work
OK, new theory. Apparently I had to do the market fix twice. I also followed the video on this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9817939&postcount=17
That's not the gtab, so it looks a little different in the menus, but the steps still worked. I guess it threw in an extra step of clearing cache on market and force stopping it before stopping google services framework. Well, Firefox doesn't show up in market, but so far everything else does. Now I have to try to remember everything I've been trying to download.
I had to do the Market fix twice, but that was no sweat.
Perfect, gunajay; thank you very much for your concise directions.

Everything is working great using this Enhancement Pack and Market Fix. My question is whether my gTab is still considered stock with these changes? The forum messages about the new firmware update all caution against applying it if you are running an alternate firmware from 3588. I don't know if I am under the Enhancement Pack and Market Fix scenario or not.
no sdcard - help please
Hello all, found this post and as a complete newbie I was excited to see what the GTAB could be transformed into. Not quite ready for custom ROMS so I figured I'd start with Clockworkmod and trying to install the standard android market.
Problem is when I hook up my gtab I don't see an "sdcard" folder... Anybody have any ideas why that would be? How do I work around it?
I have the following folders:
.android_secure
Android
clockworkmod
DCIM
download
kindle
LOST.DIR
Master
Music
Photos
recovery
Videos
update.rar
Thanks in advance for your help!
Will this work with 4349?
Does anyone know if gunajay's instructions will work with with Stock 4349 and Market?

The only problem being some Roms require slightly different methods of installation, basebands and so forth. A few simple tools such as 'flashtool' can make it easier to root the phone and install xrecovery as well as update/change basebands. Always check the forum first and come up with a checklist based on other peoples experiences, if a new Rom is released on the 'devs' side then if your a novice wait for a few days for any kinks to be ironed out.
Take your time, give yourself a few hours and make sure you have backups and passwords to hand.

Insert the microSD card into the included original Sony Ericsson microSD adapter (CCR-80). Do you not have one, the use a SD adapter, which often follows when you buy a microSD card. Both adapters work the same way.
Plug the USB or SD adapter into your computer.
Preparing the microSD card to APPS2SD
You probably have a lot of pictures, etc. on the memory card. It's a good idea, just for safety's sake, to copy them onto your computer before you continue.
Download EASEUS Partition Master (partition-tool.com) and install it on your computer and then start the program. Home Edition is free (freeware).
In the Partition Master's main window you can now see all the hard drives, including the microSD card that sits in your USB or SD adapter.
Click the right mouse button on the microSD card and select Resize/Move. Be very carefull that it is the microSD card you click!
In the window that opens, decrease the Partition Size until Unallocated Space After get as close to 1024 as possible, but not over. The space to be used by APPS2SD on the microSD card, can not exceed 1024 MB (correct me if i'm wrong)
Then click the OK button.
The main window now shows an unused area at the end of the microSD card.
Click the right mouse button in the gray box (Unallocated) and choose Create.
You may get a warning that Windows will only see the first partition. Just click Yes and continue.
Choose Primary at Create as, and EXT3 at File System and click the OK button.
Click Apply at the top left in the main windows, and then YES at the box that appears.
The program now starts to move the files and reduces the size of the existing partition and then creates the EXT3 partition used by APPS2SD.
Let the microSD card in your computer, for next, we will put some files onto it.
Place custom ROM on the microSD card
Now that we have the microSD card in the computer, we might as well put some files and custom ROM and some special apps (apk-files) on it.
In this guide I will use Cyanogen Froyo CM6 or CyaNo, but any other ROM will have the same procedure.
At this writing the latest edition of Cyanogen Froyo CM6 v6.01 and CyaNo v1.3.
Create a folder on your microSD card and call it ROMs.
Inside that folder create two folders:
CM6
CyaNo
Download Cyanogen Froyo CM6 and save the zip file in CM6 folder.
Download CyaNo and put the zip file in the CyaNo-folder.
If any hotfix are realeased for the two ROM, you can also store them in folders.
CyaNo is in principle the same ROM as Cyanogen Froyo CM6, just without all the extra juice, so if you experience too many errors and restarts with Cyanogen Froyo CM6, you can install CyaNo instead later. I just did.
- I got other ROMs ready on my microSD card just in case -
Download needed apps
To install a custom ROM on Xperia X10 mini pro, there must be a recovery app on.
There are currently two different:
xRecovery
ClockworkMod Recovery (CWM).
If you want to use Cyanogen Froyo CM6 or CyaNo on your Xperia X10 mini pro, use CWM. Other ROMs use xRecovery.
Note: It is possible to have both xRecovery and CWM on your Xperia X10 mini pro at the same time using Dual Recovery. To install this, you first need to have CWM installed.
The easiest way of getting CWM on your Xperia X10 mini pro is via Mini Rom Manager.
Mini Rom Manager can not be downloaded from the Android Market, but must be downloaded from xda and installed manually.
Create a folder on your microSD card and call it APK.
Download Mini Rom Manager and save the apk-file in the APK folder.
Download kFix and save the apk-file in the APK folder (i will get back to this one later)
Download Dual Recovery and save the zip-file in the ROMs folder
Now you can remove the microSD card from your PC. Remember to use the "eject" function on your computer.
Put the microSD card back into your phone, click on its rear panel and turn on your Xperia X10 mini pro.
Gain root on your phone
Enable USB debug on the phone. You will find the check-box under Applications > Development.
Connect your phone to your computer using the USB cable.
Du not activate access to the microSD card.
Download SuperOneClick from shortfuse.org and unpack the zip file somewhere you can find it easily, eg. on the desktop.
Open the folder and run the program and click on the large Root button on the top left corner. The program works a little and finally ask whether to check for root. It is not sure you will see any reaction on your phone.
Along with root, SuperOneClick will install an app onto the phone called Superuser. This app is crucial as it is able to give other apps access to system folders.
It's a good idea to find and start Superuser. Under the Settings tab, there is an update button at the bottom. Tap this, just to be sure that you got the latest binary.
You can now remove the USB cable.
Install Mini Rom Manager
Start Super Manager (or your favorite file explorer) and navigate to the APK-folder.
Choose Mini Rom Manager and then tap on the install button (bottom left).
If you are asked what action to complete the operation, then select Package Installer.
Maybe you will be asked to provide access for installation from unsafe sources. In this case, choose Settings, then tap Unknown sources. A warning will appear that you just accept by tapping OK.
Install ClockworkMod Recovery (CWM)
Start the Mini Rom Manager from app menu. Accept the warning by tapping Agree.
Tap Install CWM Recovery, and wait until you receive a notification of the installation is complete.
Note: If your chosen custom ROM must be installed with xRecovery, then Tap on that instead. The steps ahead are similar.
Note: Mini Rom Manager will retrieve CWM from the Internet, so it would be handy if your Xperia X10 pro is connected to a WIFI.
Save the phonebook, SMS, MMS, call logs and notes
If your phonebook is not connected with a google account and/or you have a lot of messages you want to keep, you can make a backup of everything with MyBackup Root that you can find on the Android Market. After installing your custom ROM you can then restore the backedup phonebook, messages ect.
If you got a lot of notes you've written in the stock note app, then you must write them all down on a piece of paper or copy-paste them all one by one to a another note-app, like Evernote, which can save them online.
Note: You will otherwise lose all that data.
Backup the entire phone
Note: Make sure the battery isn't drained before you continue from here
Restart the phone and press repeatedly on the back button when the white Sony Ericsson logo appears.
Shortly after CWM will start.
You navigate up and down in the menu using the volume buttons on the side of the phone and choose a menu item with the select button (middle button) and go back into the menu system with the back button.
In case you should regret installing the custom ROM, you can now make a backup of the everything first. Select Backup and restore, then Backup.
If you regred installing the custom ROM, you can restore the stock ROM later.
Install custom ROM
When the backup is compleate, select Factory Reset.
Now we are ready to install your custom ROM.
Select Install zip from sdcard and navigate to the folder where you put your custom ROMs and select your the ROM you want. Repeat this for any hotfix.
Dual Recovery (xRecovery + CWM recovery on your Phone)
If you followed the guide above, you sould have the Dual Recovery zip in your ROMs folder.
If you think you might need to install custom ROMs with xRecovery, you can now install Dual Recovery. If you know you don't need xRecovery, then don't bother.
Select Install zip from sdcard and navigate to the ROMs folder and select the Dual Recovery zip.
To start CWM use the Back key as explained above. To start xRecovery use the Home key in the same way instead.
Ready for your custom ROM
When finished, select Reboot phone.
When the phone starts again, it is with your new custom ROM.
Note: First startup might take a long time.
Note: Keeps looking boot-image forever? Pull battery and turn on again and ppress repeatedly on the back button when the white Sony Ericsson logo appears. Try another ROM.
Note: Not able to start CWM? Try Sony Ericsson PC Companion to restore custom ROM.
National QWERTY hard-keyboard
In Mini Rom Manager there is a feature to set the hardware keyboard, so your national characters works properly.
The most sensible custom ROM comes with Mini Rome Manager preinstalled. If not, follow my instructions to install Mini Rom Manager again on the custom rom.
Start the Mini Rom Manager and go to Settings and Extras.
Tap Change HW Keyboard Layout and select your national keyboard in the list.
If you experience ÆØÅ and other special characters like @ is not seated properly when using the keyboard, long-tap (set your finger and let stay on the screen) where the text is written until a menu pops up.
Scroll to the bottom of the menu and select Input Method. Then choose Standard Input. Now you can write ÆØÅ etc.
With the QWERTY keyboard folded in, an on-screen keyboard appear instead. We all know Standard Input.
The two other input methods displays a full keyboard on the screen that you can swich between small and big letters, numbers and special characters.
Android keyboard does not have special keys like ÆØÅ, but offers the ability to write special (national) versions of letters, if there are any, if you long-tab on the letter.
TalkBack keyboard on the other hand, got special keys like ÆØÅ, but also allows you to write special (national) versions of letters by using long-tap. I always find it difficult to call them up. The long-tap mostly fails for me in TalkBack.
kFix - Keyboard LED lights like on Stock ROMs
kFix is a little app that sets the keyboard light as in the original ROM.
The most sensible custom ROM comes with kFix preinstalled. If not, install kFix.
Start Super Manager (or your favorite file explorer) and navigate to the APK-folder.
Choose kFix 2.2 and then tap on the install button (bottom left).
If you are asked what action to complete the operation, then select Package Installer.
Maybe you will be asked to provide access for installation from unsafe sources. In this case, choose Settings, then tap Unknown sources. A warning will appear that you just accept by tapping OK.
Now you can avoid the pitfalls of having to use the keyboard in the dark while the light in the keys will not turn on. Do you go from a bright room into a dark, the light in the keyboard should turn on as we know it from the original ROM.
Restore phonebook, SMS, MMS, call logs, etc.
If your phonebook is linked to a Google account all your contacts will show up again when you are logged into your google account during synchronization (if you added your contacts to Google-profile and not just stored them on the phone).
Did you do a backup with MyBackup Root, you can restore your data again with the same app, and you can access any notes you have created in Evernote, with the same app.
Enjoy

Well I install xRecovery (.zip file) from forum
extract zip on desktop & transfer to SD card
open folder with the help of file manager which will have 3 file & transfer file on system/bin/............. (Hope you have root access)
robut into recovery & you done
enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My rom's space in nearly full and I need the App2SD feature. Is there any unoffical update method that update my device to Android 2.2?
Yes. You must root your phone(warranty void), install xRecovery, install JIT(no needed, + feature), and than install new ROM.
Detailed tutorial wanted.

Try this: [TUT] From stock ROM to custom ROM for n00bs
Just finished it a few days ago
It will work on any ROM that installs with xRecovery or CWM (just be aware wich one the ROM has to be installed with, it's all mentioned in the TUT).
Be aware of Baseband requirement before install custom ROM

OK When getting to the Install-CWM-part, follow one of these threads:
ClockworkMod Recovery for X10mini
xRecovery-mini 0.1-beta
Depending on your chosen custom ROM use CWM or xRec

Go for MiniCM6
Requirere latest 2.1.1.A.0.6/2.1.1.C.0.0 SE firmware / Baseband: M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015.
Installs with CWM
Be sure to follow instructions in the Install-section of the post (the part about renaming the ZIP-file, placing it at top level on the SD-card and using the top selection in the CWM-menu, the one that says "apply update from sdcard.") I'm not sure how this is important, but no harm in doing so enjoy, best hopes

Dam wish I had seen this thread before I hunted through google for a tutorial haha. Very helpful for people who haven't used a ROM before.
Stelios has some good stuff try his froyobread port to mini (not pro 1)its smooth
Hello. Please excuse my invasion in this thread, but I have a relevant question. I have a x10 mini and I'd like to change the o.s. (2.1 atm) to improve it (better Dalvik, apps on sd, etc).
So, which is the most stable and complete rom, among the froyos? I would choose 2.2 because of the camera problem of 2.3, but I don't know if MiniCM6 or FroyoBread would be better for me.
Thanks

NOTE
This guidance applies only Xperia X10 mini pro, with Baseband Version: M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015
I will add more screenshots and change the ones with danish text to english at a later time
Danish version available at my website (see link in my profile).
Warning
The instructions on this page may cause damage to your Xperia X10 mini pro, that you might not be able to correct. You are responsible for such damages. Guarantee and/or warranty can also be set aside by the dealer.
What you need
Xperia X10 mini pro, with Baseband Version: M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53,404,015th
Access to the Android Market from your Xperia X10 mini pro.
A computer with Windows and Internet connection.
USB cable (USB A Male / B MICRO-M).
USB or SD adapter for microSD.

Connect the MicroSD card to your computer
Turn off your Xperia X10 pro and remove the microSD card. See the instructions that came with your Xperia X10 mini pro for further instruction.

Just thought i would post this as an ohh sh!t save because i did this. I had originally rooted using windows with indirects script for permanent root, i then blocked otas and proceeded to install adw. I was stoked! I then installed an ics keyboard, here inlies the following problem, i was able to get it working properly and a few days passed and snowball mod was released. Naturally i wanted to update and get rid of the nook tablet home page and what not so i factory reset forgetting to uninstall the ics keyboard and i just disabled it and re enable dthe original nook android 2.3.4 keyboard in the keyboard debug settings mode. In the event that you do this mistakenly you will not have access to a keyboard thereforenyou will need to pay attention closely to the following!
Step one bypass nook registration you can find this on albertwertz youtube channel.
Step two find a wireless network with no password as all of yiurs will be erased and you can not enter a new one with a keyboard. A phine using wifi tether works perfect.
Step three create a folder on your desktop computer with word document containing a direct link to download any side laoded app.
Step four move this folder to your sd card
Step five open the sd card by choosing the option on the task bar of your nook tablet
Step 6 find the folder open it click the link
Step 7 download the file when prompted choose PACKAGE INSTALLER choose menu and go to accessability. It will say there are no apps blah blah ingnore this and move passed the prompt by choosing cancel.
step 8 choose keyboard and select android keyboard.
You will now have your factory keyboard again.
