[Q] Sky go Rooted custom rom - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone,
was just hoping someone had managed to get this working. I know the sky go app does not officially work on ICS but i can currently run the test apk on non rooted stock firmware. When I flashed Omega 4 custom rom onto the phone the app not longer works. I have tried using voodoo root keeper to temporarily disable root but i still does not work.
If anyone has this working on Omega 4 I would really appreciate any help in getting this working. Thanks in advance

[Q] Need help with root.

Hi guys,
Im running the SGS3 I9300 (international), today I upgraded to jelly bean (as it became available here), my phone was rooted, so I downloaded OTA rootkeeper to pause my root so I can update my firmware. After updating, the phone was no longer rooted, I came to xda to root it, used the link here first,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957273 (Auto root)
however it didnt work, so I decided to go back to the one I used before with CWM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1695238
and that didnt work either, now nothing seems to work, could you guys point me in the right direction, cheers.
Chainfire has an app called Exynos Exploit. Try that one. Custom kernels with pre-root might work out as well.
Hi, I updated yesterday and rooted with chainfires CF-autoroot

[Q] Help for novice re: Custom Rom / Rooting / SkyGo

Hi All,
Help would be much appreciated on this. I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to the whole Rooting / Custom ROM thing, so if I sound stupid or something doesn't make sense then just let me know and I'll try to explain better.
I bought a Sumvision Cyclone Voyager BT 10.1 back in June running Android 4.1.
Sumvision then released a firmware update to move to Android 4.2 which I flashed to my device in August/September I think (not important).
Anywhoo, the SkyGo app has now been made available on the Play Store, so I downloaded, and looked to put a bit of Sport on, but it says it doesn't work on Rooted devices.
I don't think I have a rooted device, but after searching the internet a little it appears that SkyGo won't work if you have a Custom ROM either (which I'm guessing this update is?!).
What would be the best option here to get SkyGo working? I'm happy to go back to Android 4.1 - but I'm not sure if flashing this to my device will still show as a Custom ROM?
I'm also wondering if actually Rooting my device and then using one of those 'Hide My Root' apps to fool SkyGo would also work?
Any advice greatly appreciated - the easiest solution (other than buying a different device) would be best for a simpleton like me.

That's the thing, I don't think my device is rooted. It has a custom ROM, which is why I don't think SkyGo works, but it's not rooted, so the 'Hide my Root' app won't work.
Would actually Rooting my device work then? Just so I can use that app?

there is a app there can check if u are rooted on playstore
So... my devise isn't rooted....
Any suggestions? Should I root it and use the root hider app? Does that hide the fact you're using a custom ROM? Does anyone use them?

[Q] Lost Root on Stock Rom

Hi guys, I recently lost root on my stock rom slot, but I still have a rom that is customized the way I like on one of my hdx 7 devices and it still has root. The stock rom says I have version 13.3.1.0 and yet I can't get root again. Perhaps there are too many files in my system directory? Does anyone have experience with this? Should I just leave well enough alone seeing as how I'm now down to only one kindle device in my house that actually works worth a damn.
If you still have access to safestrap, just leave it alone.

Lollipop root

Hey guys,
I'm already rooted and running stock OG6, but I came across this "kingroot" root application and I hadn't seen anything about it on the T-Mobile S5 forum. Does anybody know if this works on our devices?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/one-click-root-tool-android-2-x-5-0-t3107461
Apparently it works on the S4 running lollipop.
On another note, do custom recoveries like twrp and philz still work with lollipop/OG6? I can't seem to get one to stick (at least from the phone app flashers). I haven't tried the odin method.
Thanks!

No. There are no ROMs for this device. No one has built a custom ROM for it because it is not a popular brand. Now you can install a custom CWM recovery. Use MTK Droid Tools to do create one, then flash it with SPF Tool. Once, you've got CWM on there, you can root it by installing a SuperSu zip from the SD card while in recovery.
But unfortunately, there are no custom ROMs available that you can install.
I dont know if you still have the device, but I am currently working on a nougat resurrection remix rom for this device. So far I managed to get twrp 3.2.1 running on this phone with storage and adb working, ill update you when im finished making the rom boot.

Why not post the TWRP image for the device if you have created one? People who have the device would find it helpful.
