Hi.
I own this atrix which seems to be cool phone. Being a noob i am fascinated by the apps in market which require root access. Thought of giving up my warranty away and rooting it. But was sad when I tried doing that. I have tried this software called "oneclick something something". But it didnt help. It got hanged at starting psneuter. I know that there are many pages in this forum regarding the same problem. But I thought I might be able to get a personalised response on the below specs of my phone which doesnt seem to match any other post here.
System specs:
System version: 45.31.2.MB860.T-Mobile.en.GB
Model: MB860
Android version: 2.3.4
Baseband version: N_01.100.00R
Webtop version: WT-1.2.0-133_38
Kernel version: 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #2
Build number: 4.5.2A-74_OLE-31.2
APflex version: do yo require this?? quiet long.
I couldnt find out what to do to root this phone. I did try one way mentioned on this forum but it didnt work. I have always made sure that usb debugging is on and the SD card is mounted whenever required. I know this forum is full of super duper pros and someone will surely help a new user of this forum.
Regards.
I don't think rooting voids warranty, but it's easy too root through fastboot, but if you want to so any rom flashing you need to unlock bootloader, that will void your warranty

Read the noobs guide at the top of this subforum.
Make sure you have yor moto drivers installed on your pc.
I had a similar build to yours and used Petes Motorola Tools, plus many times since with great success.
Can I also recommend SuperOneClick? I have had 100% success rate with this tool with two different Motorola phones.
You need also to turn the USB debugging on as well for this tool to work. It might reboot your phone a couple of times, be patient.

Good Luck!
Rooting TMob UK Atrix
Just use:
http://www.android-advice.com/2011/root-the-motorola-atrix-4-5-91-on-gingerbread-2-3-4-updated/
Pete's Motorola Root Tools, I used it on my TMob UK Atrix and it worked fine. Didn't use this exact guide, but some one with his Pete's Moto tools which apparently doesn't claim support of Atrix but works fine.
If you want to unlock, then just this guide:
I think this should work:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1302423
sorry though, I cannot quite remember the guide I used, all I do remember, was that it wasn't a case of just typing "fastboot oem unlock", like it is for the AT&T Gingerbread updated devices. Just follow the guide and you shouldn't have any problems.
Oh and just one more piece of advice, don't overclock your device.
Cheers guys. I will try Pete's motorola root tool and hopefully post my success story.

Hi I posted here quite a while ago trying to find a way of rooting my Chinese Tablet it a Dolphin A70 with a MTK6573 chipset and the following details
Model Number: e1107_v73_ht_ntv
Android Version: 2.3.6
Basband version: MAUI.11AMD.W11.36.SP.V17.F1, 2012/02/10 10:07
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7
Build Number: ALPS.GB.FDD2.MP.V4.5

I have tried Super One click which just get to step 7 and doesn't do anything more, Unlock Root which doesn't work I get the message Failed to get shell root, and I have tried Doomlord script in desperation with no luck.
Can anyone here point me in the correct direction? please
Please i just acquire this same type of device, were you able to root and change the rom. Please reply.

I bought an Xperia Ray for my son recently.
Unfortunately the current state of the device yields very little enjoyment since it came with a very old Android version.
I would like to upgrade the device as well as have it rooted, if possible at all.
The years have been rough on me and I've been unable to keep up with technology.
After reading many tutorials, I feel overwhelmed by the many variants that make this a complex task. At least for me.
If any one could spare a little of their time to help me figure out the steps to correctly upgrade my son's Xperia Ray
to a nicer Android version and root the device as well, I would be very grateful.
These are the specifications of the device:
Code:
Model number
ST18a
Android Version
2.3.4
Baseband version
8x55A-AAABQOAZM-203028D-56
Kenrel version
2.6.32.9-perf

Build number
4.0.2.A.0.42
Thank you in advance for your kindness.
First you can upgrade your phone to Android ICS 4.0.4 via PC Companion
http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/
Then if you want to root follow this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1695514
If you dont want to cuztomize your phone, you dont need to root..
rooting may void warranty
If you want to root, don't upgrade to ICS 4.0.4
Coz it's easier to Root in Gingerbread than ICS...
And Just follow the 2nd link provided in above post...
After rooting, upgrade to whichever android version you want...

I have same version of android, baseband and build numbers.
I rooted with mtk6589 procedure where you connect phone and execute some run.bat, search in google. That worked for me.
For recovery, you get into Chinese recovery that I dont understand when you press volume-,power,home.
I am also trying to flash cwm/twrp recovery, but odin does not recognize this phone. I am little scared that I might brick with those adb based flashes.
I tried applying some generic twrp recovery with goo manager, I dont know if it messed up the default english android recovery or not that it does not work any more when you into it from volume+,power, home
Hey, got tha same problem. Only my gt-i9500 clone has mt6577, tried several rooting methond without any luck. Can't find ROM and recovery.img thats in it to root mine). You can try http://gizbeat.com/2151/graphical-root-mtk6589-mtk6577-mtk6575/#more-2151, or http://chinaphonearena.com
You guys are gonna be hard pressed to find anything for those devices as they don't use official Android versions, recoveries, or boot loaders. You gonna have to hit up the China based forums. Knock off/clone device are not supported here. Only real devices are.

If the devices have an MT65XX proccesor, you can use SP flash tool and a few other user made tools to make your own CWM or TWRP that will work on your device, I have done it about a dozen times on all different MT6515, MK6573, MT6575, MT6577, and MT6589 devices. Let me know if you need help and I would be happy to point you in the right direction.
Please help

Hi,
My first guess would be to try Motochopper Exploit to obtain root. If that dont work, I know of a few other methods to get root with. Let me know if Motochopper works.
motochopper
Hello Klown80 thank you the answer, I did what you told me and I installed Motochopper all right! but opening up Superuser app asking me to update and install from Recovery or install soltanto.come push one of the two tells me that there is an error and send the log to the developer.
Ps I state that I downloaded two Motochopper 2.361Kb and one from the other by 4.147Kb obviously I used the larger one.
I did a test to delete something but nothing with Link2SD says I'm not activated on superuser permissions.
Thank you aid me then I'm sorry advice fhashare the ROM to the problem of memory?

Hi,
When it asks to update are you choosing "Continue" then "Normal"? If it is saying it failed, try rebooting phone. If that still dont work, Motochopper may not be able to root the phone and we will have to move on to next exploit. Try installing SRT AppScanner from Play Store and run that app, tell me if either of the bugs say vulnerable please.

Hi,
Ok next go here:
http://www.cydiaimpactor.com/
Download Cydia impactor onto your Pc and extract it from .zip file. Then make sure USB debugging is enabled on phone then connect phone and run the Impactor tool, once Impactor tool opens, just hit start button. As long as there are no errors once it completes, download SuperSU app from market/Play Store. Now try opening SuperSU app and see if it will let you update binary, if so first choose "Continue" then on next question choose "Normal". if it updates successfully you are rooted my friend!
(Also - my apologies, the select "Continue" and then "Normal" from previous post was referring to SuperSU app, not Superuser. I personally use SuperSU as Superuser doesnt work well with the newer phones I play with constantly.) If this too fails I know of 2 other options to gain root so we are not out of luck yet!
Thanks!
After 1 week of useless attempts to root an S4 clone (not so clear if using a MK6575 or 6577) with several other tools, I stumbled into this thread and read the suggestions given by Klown80 to hasci5582.
My phone had the same vulnerability issues and was then rooted without a hitch by Cydia Impactor.
So I registered to xda-developers, just to say:
Thanks Klown80!
SuperUS
Dear friend, sorry for the late reply but weekend I brought out my children and I have not had time to do anything on cellulare.Ho followed your directions and it worked (honestly when I uninstall something tells me with Link2SD Fallitio but erases the itself), however, it worked thank you.
Sorry if I ask this question but now that the root would be fair to ask you what to do:
flash the ROM because I always say 32gb of which 31 are used even if I deleted many useless programs of the system.
or change the system that I have seen Android version 4.2.9 does not exist.
Sorry if tartasso of questions but I see you are very esperto.dimmi you please if you just so I could do something?
Thank you really

Ah, well, there is no Android 4.5.1 released yet
You got trolled by the company or by anyone else who changed Android version in build.prop!
Try some apps or some tools. I recommend Framaroot. Link
Good luck!

Thanks and yeah i know. Not sure why they'd change the version :/
it's a samsung s5 clone.
I have tried kingo and framaroot with no luck.
EDIT: is there an app that can help me identify the real version I'm running?
