[Q] Galaxy Note stock headphones work with S3? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Can someone confirm if it is safe to use the Note's stock headphones with the S3?
Sorry I know this sounds really silly and trivial but I once busted the sound of another Android phone just by using a dodgy headset.

You can use any headphones unless they are defective. Aren't the notes headphones even identical?

To answer your question no. Your phone is a Bluetooth receiver same as your ps3.

Quality of MEL adapter

Hi.
Is there a way to increase the quality of this as it does not seem to be 1080?
Thanks
Sent from my GT-I9300 using XDA
Have you tried any 1080 videos? Because most stuff is 720p or less.
Yeah I have. Quality is definitely not same as what the screen is showing....

Well sadly I can't try yet because my 2 old MHL cables won't work because f***ing Samsung had to change the pin configuration for no obvious reason, but I ordered a cheap new one that claims to be S3 compatible and should be here soon.
I wonder if there is any mod to make it higher quality?

Has anyone else had any experience with the adapter?

Loose parts

So when I shake my phone, tap the top of it with my finger or when it vibrates in some angle, I can actually hear that something is loose (maybe the speaker). When I shake or tap the phone I can hear some sort of ticking noise and when it vibrates I can hear something vibrate with it.
Anyone else experiencing this?
Most likely the camera lens. It's common the focusing lens rattles a little. Have done so on most of my phones with cameras.

I know the power button/volume rocker can be a little loose

I haven't received the SIII yet, but smartphone cameras will rattle. If it wasn't able to move it wouldn't be able to focus.

Ìf it bothers you so much send it in for repair, no need to start a thread over this :silly:
Just wanted to know wether more people had this. If so it wouldn't be that much of a problem to me.

From experience, I'd advise to return goods as soon as a fault(s) develop. The retailer is more likely to accept the goods back, and you often have more consumer rights and an easier chance of enforcing those rights the less time has lapsed between sale and returning.
only lucky person have this. you are lucky because you can meet samsung service center. return your phone.
Mine does the same when I shake it back and forward, if I shake left to right it doesn't happen, as already been said I think is the camera lenses to be able to focus.
So I don't think you need to return your phone.

Ask Samsung ...
To those who think their S3's should rattle. Please ask Samsung if the S3 should rattle. You can do this on such things as their Facebook support pages. Update the thread with Samsung's response(s) pls.
I know the S3 can be a phone, internet browser, camera, etc, but rattle is not one of the features they have announced afaik
My S3 isn't rattling, but my power button dosen't have the click/tick sound anymore when i click on it, like the volume rocker has
Eh it should be the camera auto focus. My iphone 4s, htc one x and galaxy s3 did it when I had it. My only phone that doesn't is my bold 9900 because it doesn't have auto focus.

Doesn't explain why some S3's have it and others don't.
For perspective, mine rattles when I tap the top third of the screen in normal usage, clicking links, wifi toggles etc.
Definitely the camera, definitely annoying. Deciding if it's worth the risk to have it replaced..

Car charger doesn't work

Hi all,
My car charger works with my s2 and work phone but not with my s3. I'm running checkrom. Any ideas? Is this a known fault with some s3's?
Many thanks

Use the charger that came with phone, brother. It is the safest.

To charge the S2 need less current than S3 (comparing technical details), so if your car charger work with S2 but no with S3 mean that charger is not able to provide the enough current for S3.

Just wondering if this cable will basically mean my phone can be connected to ipod docks and play sound through those speakers?
Thanks in advance
Couldn't say for sure. But it certainly looks possible. And at less than £2 its not going to be a costly mistake if not.

It's just for charging, no audio pass through
