Hey guys,
Anyone happen to be kind enough to inform me as to how I can reinstall the red Motorola logo that normally appears upon boot with Sprint's Photon owned by people who aren't a complete ditz and didn't accidently hit the "format internal sd card" during the CM9 flashing process. As soon as I hit it, I restarted the phone and instead of the logo, I had a black screen with white text listing out all of the bootloading options I had, it also told me that the os was going to load in 5 seconds; similar to grub for PC.
I'd love to be able to show my customer loyalty!
Thank you so much in advance!

The logo I was referring to was the one where if you had unlocked your bootloader, where it says "unlocked" above the red logo upon boot. Would the boot animations you advise simply replace my blue CM9 android buddy and still not show the logo instead of "android's version of grub"?
Errm my bad dude. Thought you meant the moto boot animation. No, that logo is a different thing entirely but i dont know why it would just up and disappear. What mods and such have you made recently?

Read this thread to flash another boot logo. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1248221
Or you can SBF after flashing the pdsfix.zip from this link as it will let you "activate" and update your profile and PRL later. This is the link.

Edit: If you have a back up of your pds partition do that instead of flashing the fix.

I've seen this pop up once or twice, but I don't remember seeing a fix. Sorry.

Hi expect,
My Atrix (BE860, HK version) was not able to show the splash screen.
It will show the attached screen .
Can any one help?
Thanks.
It can boot into Android after 5 second timeout.
I am using "IHOP_Bell.sbf" to unlock, and flashed recovery-en-goapk-0630-1029.img+ORFR234-tegrapart-d00100.boot.img+CherryBlur-v1.4_ORF4.5.2A_WIPE.zip.

Why don't you go into RSD and flash this:

Thanks mpalatsi.
As I am not using AT&T device.
But after I did some search on google, I flashed OLYEM_U4_2.1.1_SIGNED_UCAOLYPORTFR_P014_A004_M001_HWolympus_1g_1FF.sbf. It is normal now. It can display "M" logo as splash screen.
Thanks a lot.

Ahh! Sorry about that, It's late here (EST US) and I must have missed that when reading the OP.
Glad to hear you got everything worked out.
I bought this phone off craigslist, and the screen comes up "sim card removed, log into motoblur...". OK now I can't get in touch with the guy I got it from to get me past this and reset.
So, I go to the boot menu, get around this and try to do a factory reset on the phone. It then displays the message "failed to boot 2".
How do I get around this and get it working? Sorry I'm a bit of a noob at all this, so any help would be much appreciated.
It's running 2.3.4 if that matters, I have no idea what's been done to it.

Don't, just flash a pudding sbf
So last night i was playing around trying to test some ROMS and i manage to hit i think is format a partion in Recovery , and that mess up my PDA's , so i did the from here that got me my touch screen back correctly ..
But now when i turn on the phone i got this kinda linux style menu with all the option(fastboot , recovery etc ...) why is that ??
here's 2 pics of it..
The phone still boot up after the 5 sec for the menu ..
No one ever saw that ? or know what the problem is ..
I recall seeing that happen when the boot logo was f*ed up. Try flashing another boot logo.
This is soft brick, isn't it? Search for recovery from soft brick, many posts about that. Don't use RSD Lite.
Boot logo boot up after 5 sec like the menu says ..
And soft brick when im fully using my phone ?!!?
It's like if i turn a switch like on a PC when you boot and press ESC it show the boot process .. well it look like this... lol ..
I think it's one of my PDA that's screw up ..
I'm having the same boot issue on my Atrix. It also happened me after I accidentally pressed Format Partition in recovery mode. It didn't really bothered me until now, but now it's getting quiet annoying, because I often change SIM cards and the long boot time is boring. Hope you guys find a solution.
I had the same issue with my Atrix, just like @YBrazeau and @mrdodi.
And it happened I've fat-fingered the 'format partition' button...
Anyway, as I'm using custom rom Alien version #4, I've got the 'boot.img' from the rom file and tried to flash it using fastboot.
I'm still getting the same screen when booting up my mobile.
I'm gonna backup everything and try to apply the Alien rom again from scratch (factory reset). I don't even know if this is gonna work.
I'll let you know what I've got.
New ideas are more than welcome.
Thanks,
Ron

The boot logo Turl mentioned above is not the same thing as a boot.img. A boot logo will be named logo.bin.
Search the Themes and Apps forum. There's a thread on how to make your own logo, and they have the stock one available for download along with instructions on how to install it.
Thanks, ghost_og, that worked!
@ghost_og & @turl1 thanks for the advice! that solved the problem.
happy holidays!

Hi all,
Hope someone here can help me :-S
Ive got a HTC EVO3d gsm phone and thought it a good ideato flash Guerin with the latest leedroid software...
I really pundit but for one problem :-(
When I go to the menu screen which has all the icons on it which u can scroll through, the screen is not centred. It was when I initially flushed it but over time (a few days) all the icons which are on the left side seem to be half off the screen. Even the HTC calibration seems off..the calibration mark which u press is not on the edge of the screen but about 5mm off the side... Hope that makes sense....
Wipe all partitions except sd within your recovery and flash only the rom. See if the problem still exists.

Bering a noob at all this, could you please elaborate on that. When u say wipe all partitions except sd within recovery, do u mean for me to put my phone into recovery mode?? Sorry if I sound a tad dense here... Took me long enough to root and flash me phone ;-) also, by doing what u say, does that wipe my apps...reason I ask is coz I've got some notes in note pad app I don't want to loose :-(
Cheers
I wish I never done it now...
I've only just gone and bricked my evo 3d... cant get the bloody thing to 1 get past the white with green HTC logo screen, also when going into recovery mode and try to do a reboot or factory reset...actually any of the options all I get is a black screen with a tophat in the middle and nothing happens...
When I try a fastboot i get the PB99IMG.zip invalid image message...
So I replaced the latest image from my phone (which i also stored on my PC) with the one on my PC just incase for some reason the image became corrupt... but still nowt... Time to place foot to phone... unless anyone oot there knows what I can doo....
I have what I think is an unusual booting splash screen. It is the first thing to show up after turning on.
I also booted in to the Odin menu just to see the status and took a picture of that.
I just got my phone today and have done nothing other than install normal applications, I haven't tried to root or flash anything.
I watched a video of some other verizon SGS3 owner turning on their device and that unlocked lock icon and custom do not appear.
Anyone know what this means?

You will probably get a better response if you post this in Q&A. I don't know the answer to your question though. I am curious what they answer is.
it comes up once you've flashed something using odin
if you'll notice on the third image, next to "SYSTEM STATUS:" it says "Custom" this means something other than something official has been flashed to it
i'd really like to know how you did this
me too
Like I said, I haven't done anything. I have actually not even plugged it into my computer yet via usb cable.
Maybe it came rooted

Its not rooted
I suspected that and tried to just download superSU and it doesn't work, says phone isn't rooted.
Assuming you bought yours brand new from the store, I'd go back. But first I'd try removing the microsd card and booting up. Then try the SIM card, then boot up again. If its still the same, something is up with your device. It keeps booting up into download mode. :S
I don't think he was saying it boots into DL mode on its own, just that he went into DL mode to confirm he's not running anything custom, which it appears he is not.
Strange that it would show the custom boot image when you're running the official ROM. I don't know that that's a bad thing, or that it's worth returning the phone. Might be worth calling Verizon and talking to them about it. At the least you then have a record that your phone was doing that from the beginning, so if you have to return it later on after installing custom ROMs, you can say it was always like that

James is right; whatever you do, DO NOT return your device to the store. You might have the golden ticket in your palms.

Odin Dump
I've hooked up to Odin 3.07.
The options for dumping are grayed out. I don't know if that's normal or if Odin is even how I should dump.
Of note, My ODIN MODE screen the top left corner of the phone.
(in my linked post i have image) (Purple text is actually written in white)
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SCH-I535
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: No
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
QUALCOM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE
Yes, I am familiar with ADB... "familiar but not too familiar, but not too not familiar"

Please please don't return to VZW. See if a dev can help you to get dump. You could be holding the key to save tens of thousands of us.
This is very interesting. Subscribing to thread!
Although yours isn't rooted and perhaps not unlocked, the devs can check out what's different in your device through a dump and it could assist them in achieving root and unlocking the bootloader. I don't really know a whole lot about developing, so maybe that's not possible
