Did you nandroid your stock setup before making any changes or flashing anything? If you did, restore your backup, backup the apk, (and any others that you think you may want/need later), then flash AS and restore the apk. Whenever I first root/flash a phone, I ALWAYS backup the stock apps.
Yes I nandroid backed it up.I just did not want to to have to go through the hassle of resorting using titanium backup then going back.

New EVO 3D user

My bro just bought a 3d and he wants to root it... He currently using his og EVO and he's planning to use it until the end of the month. My question is: do i root the 3d before he activates it or after? I want to root it ASAP but I dnt know if he will have a problem activating it.
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
Yes you can root it before you activate it. Just don't flash anything but a stock rom so you can activate everything correctly when the time comes. Once activated, make a nandroid backup and store it somewhere safe. Then flash away!!!
Sent from my Evo 3d using XDA
You can root it and make a nandroid of your stock rooted rom then flash away. When it comes time to activate it just restore that nandroid. In the meantime have fun flashing what ever you want.

Recovery

So I had an LTE before this one and I make a backup and using the same recovery as before and now when I try to restore it won't find it
Anyone??
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
Did you copy the backups to the same place you had them in the other phone? what is the error message you get? and what recovery you have ?
Yes its in twrp and I don't see them
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
it doesnt see them because they are stored according to the device ID, make a back up of something small like cache, then put your old back up in that folder so you know where its at. my kindle fire is twrp/backup/000000000000 for example. your htc might be twrp/backup/1111111111 and your old one was twrp/backup/111111111112
Ok I'm going to try that

Anyone tried this with the rezound?

Looks very promising https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pommedeterresautee.twoborange3

I am running siuls miui, and this does not work. It does say that the vigor is supported, so might just be the rom I'm running.
One thing I did notice, is the soft key vibration is very strong until I un installed.. Fwiw...

I tried it
1 backup took 45% battery and was only used for 10 minutes on Verizon LTE
And it didn't even backup

Works perfect

Works fast and smooth for me. A little slow uploading to cloud though.
Hmm, doesn't work for me. I get sementation fault and then exit code 139. I contacted the dev. A regular onandroid from terminal emulator works fine for me.
Worked fine for me, which is cool because I've had troubles backing up through Amon Ra. Has anyone tried actually restoring to the backup?

What kind of troubles have you had with amon ra? I only ask because its the only recovery i've ever ran but last week I attempted to do my first ever restore from a backup and it was crazy. Everything was jacked up. Thinking about trying cwm touch but just don't know. Just curious though. Thanks

Can i restore my Nand backup after s-off

I am about to get my evo s-off for hb 2.09 , and i was wondering if i can restore my my nand stock ics back insted of jb
Thanks in advanve.

I don't think s-off is going to make much difference what you restore in recovery. People have been flashing back to ICS without issues AFAIK

When used my backup to restore i had to fastboot the kernel. Just use the boot.emmc.win. rename to boot.img. then use fastboot flash boot boot.img.
