Hello all, just looking for the stock e-mail app or apk. gmail app is a no go and K-9 does not cut it.
My phone is currently running Shostock 2. but if anyone have gb or ics stock email apk i would greatly appresiate

Is there a way we could install HTC messaging app on our vibrants? Maybe somebody has an apk file to try? I love Samsung one, but it lags so bad at times!

FYI, its not the htc app, but the default messaging app from CM 5.0.8 for the nexus one will install just fine on the vibrant, IF you have root, and delete the stock application.

Once you have root, you could either do it via adb, or go download root manager and delete stock app, then you should.be able to install the apk file of the other messaging client.

I m using lg official rom GB 2.3.3
In stock rom there is no facebook and twitter applications pre-installed so i downloaded them from market.
But i m not getting notifications.
I have checked the notifications update in settings menu. But no success.
Plz guide me what to do?

Make sure that your Auto-sync is ON.
Yes sync is on but no new notifications in notification bar.

I kicked the official apps out of my phone and used Friendcaster and Seesmic. I've had the same issue with the official app since stock.

odds are it's tied to the ICS framework.it won't work.
I deleted Yahoo stuff cuz I have nothing to do with Yahoo note com.motorola.contacts doesn't work.... can't add out edit contracts! and I ics themed swipe but when I try to install just says application not installed. help with both?

Ah I think I understand. Does your native contacts app not work at all? If so, a third party app will not help you as it needs the native app to add new contacts and such. You said that it force closes, was that a result of deleting the yahoo apk within system/apps? That needs to be there for your contacts app to function. Also, what rom are you running?

Yahoo contacts and email authenticator are necessary files and will prevent the native contacts application from functioning correctly.

I can open it but when I click on any contacts or anything from there it fierce closes. stock ROM , rooted obviously cuz I got rid of yahoo and I think email engine except straight up gmail

I am running SGS2 with custom ROM AOKP 7.1 ICS 4.0.4. The exchange email app does not populate email addresses that i have recently used or used at least once. I need to be able to simply type in the first few letters of the persons name and then click on the address that pops up from my previous emails, similar to what outlook does on a PC. Hope that makes sense.
Any help on this is appreciated. This is getting frustrating having to type addresses from scratch. Thank you guys.

It works on mine that way, but I am running ShoStock2 v3.1.2. Are your Exchange contacts syncing? My contact list is synced with the Exchange server contacts and it pulls anyone who is in my contact list when I start typing in the To field. Not sure if it will use recently received or sent email addresses or just the ones in your contacts.

I have never had contacts sync with my exchange account. When running stock rom if I sent an email to anyone they always popped up later as soon as I typed a few letters. Now with custom rom it won't work.

You're comparing apples and oranges, before you were running a Samsung rom and now you aren't

I realize that but a custom rom should be smart enough to remember recently used email addresses. I am trying to find a solution bc I really like AOKP rom and don't want to flash something else.

If it is a different rom with a different email client you shouldn't expect it to work exactly the same
