Lumia 710 music volume control - Nokia Lumia 800

Hello guys
would like to ask other Lumia 710 owners, does your phone have real 30 level volume control? I mean, when listening with headphones the volume controls goes like x/30 but there's no difference between 21-24/30, then 25-27 no difference and 28/30 is going to blow my ears off...
Can this be fixed with a new ROM, or it's a strictly hardware-related issue? I'm considering flashing my phone, this is one of the reasons so I'd love to be sure before bricking it
thanks everyone

Happens to me on Rainbowmod Rom too. I think it's hardware based.

Well I can confirm that it still works that way after upgrading a 059N1R9 to 1600.3031.8773.12121. The volume changes only every four or five points of the phony 1-30 scale.

[Q] Radar keyboard volume levels and other audio strangeness

Has anyone else noticed that the keyboard click on the Radar is a lot quieter than other WP7 phones. In comparison to a Mozart or Trophy it's virtually inaudible at normal volume levels.
I have also noted that there is often interference in the gaps between audio tracks - a definite clicking sound when the track changes. Also not an issue on the Mozart or Trophy.
And the voice used for text to speech is very quiet when played back via Bluetooth - if I turn it up loud enough to hear it, then it's distorted. Once again, not a problem on Mozart or Trophy.
I've already sent the phone back to HTC who just reflashed it and returned it, but the audio levels are unchanged.
ROM is latest version: 7.10.7720.68 FW 1600.2200.10803.401 Radio: 16.23.02.09_2_16.24.00.23U
Anyone got any similar experiences? Or does your Radar behave differently?
Yup mine too
Sent from my Radar C110e using Board Express
Same here though all phones are quieter than my DVP is. That is the loudest phone on the market.
Damn, that's a shame. Spoils an otherwise very good phone. Think I'll be going back to my Mozart, even if the Radar does have better battery life, until HTC release a fix.
I don't have a Clicking noise when changing tracks... no noise at all...
Im on my 8 day with it and simply love it.. comming from Sensation and Galaxy S2
I don't see my self going back to android from WP7... it simply works better with all the things i need it for...
by the way im from Denmark
I hear quite the opposite. My Radar is twice as lout as my other HTC HD7. Maybe you just need to adjust the volume?
I have a similar problem but not quite the same
Every once in a while the volume on my HTC Radar drops quite low for music, ringtone and everything... if i turn it off and on it goes back to normal levels...

My DVP is still louder than my sisters hd7. That's what you get for placing a speaker on the back of the phone.
Every review i've seen/read they say this has a way better speaker/louder speaker than other WP7 that have been out. maybe your radar is defective? idk
My radar has better sound than my DVP. My DVP was a lot louder before it got Mango update. Although keyboard does seem to be at lower volume level.
What I hate about radar is that whenever I am changing the tracks while playing the music, it's like I have to wait for zune to start playing the music until I can move on to the next track.
I don't think is a problem with the keyboard lower volume. I just love it the way it's, I preferred like that because with my HD7 everyone can heard when I typing. And when I use the audio jack on my car seems to be louder.
Sent from my Radar 4G using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
Well if im mistaken, I thought this guy had the Focus S, If it was it was pretty loud with the keyboard clicks, a lot bolder sound than my DVP. But I may be mistaken
Nothing wrong with the volume on mine. Although 8tracks and Mixtapes both fail to output any sound at all. =(
- Sent from my HTC Radar 4G using the OMG XDA WTF WP7 BBQ App. =D
i suffer with the 'clicking' sound when changing tracks between music on zune when listening through headphones. its really annoying. I ma wondering if it is because i am using high quality headphones and they are just that much more sensitive than the standard rubbish. Going to try some cheaper headphones and see if the problem is still there and report back.

I've been having the same issue. It was pretty rare at first, but it has been happening pretty much constantly since yesterday's update. I'm doing a backup and restore right now to see if it will help any, but it has definitely been a real hassle.
Song change click noise...
I had the same problem with clicking noises when zune changed songs. I fixed it by going into the sound enhancer under options and turning off all audio effects. After that it no longer makes any kind of clicking noise. Only problem now is playing music seems to drain my battery about 10% an hour.
Have gotten used to the quiet keyboard click but the clicking and popping between tracks is still a bit of an annoyance. Agreed that with all the sound enhancer effects switched off they are almost inaudible. But TBH I think the audio without the enhancer is a bit weak. Have settled for SRS which seems to me to be the best compromise overall.
I have a weird thing with my Radar - the sound from Headphones is very low. I mean you can hear well only when volume is 20 and higher. I checked my headphones and they are perfectly fine. Even tried several others on Radar - still the same.
It's about the same effect with Bluetooth headsets.
I deleted Sound Enhancer some time ago, so I can't adjust boost through it
Then re-install the sound booster silly
I've discovered Sound Enhancer in Settings, but not as a separate app. However, it doesn't increase the volume dramatically

[Q] Anyway to lower volume

Hi,
I have just switched from an iPhone 4 to SGSIII. When going to sleep I like to listen to tune in radio. The only problem I am finding is that on the lowest volume notch using the volume keys is still too loud for me.
Is there anyway to lower this further?
I totally second this.. I am coming from an age old HTC G1, and i loved how i could have it SO quiet, that i could hold the phone up to my ear at night (the speaker phone side, not the talking side) and hear it just fine but a person laying next to me in bed couldn't tell i was listening to anything.. but with the Gs3 its so loud even at the lowest setting possible that at 4-5 feet away you can hear it.
Not to mention the text alert sound is too loud when I have it at the lowest setting.. On the G1 i could turn it down to the lowest setting and it was quiet enough that if you listened for it you could hear it in a quiet room, but if you weren't listening for it you'd miss it. wish the Gs3 had a little finer tuning on the quieter end
I do that too a lot and the only solution I found so far (sgs2) is to use apps like PlayerPro/PowerAmp for mp3s and XiiaLive for internet radios because they have internal volume control on top of androids one. Gets the volume so low that even at night with in-ear-canal headphones I can barely hear the audio. Not that I do that but still, it's nice to have control of the volume so much.

Poweramp is the only solution I have found but I really like Tunein and that does not have any control. There must be a simple system wide solution. My device is rooted so are there any options?

I'm resurrecting this old thread. I too would love to be able to turn down the volume to as low of a setting as I want. I don't understand why the phone manufacturers don't simply provide that capability!
There is another post here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2565559 on a technique for the HTC One. I haven't tried it on the S4 yet.

Earpiece volume issue for Lumia 920

I am getting a very low volume from the earpiece when i am on a call. even if i put it up to level 10 i can barely hear the other person. this is at home where there are no outside noise. any one else having the same issue? if i am outside i can hardly hear the other person.
if its a general lumia 920 issue then i think i can live with it as i like the phone a lot. but if its just my unit then i wud like to get it replaced before the return/exchange period ends..

Mine is QUITE loud. In fact, so loud that the Camera Vibrates. I may return it because the vibration is so bad I cannot hear the other party a lot of the time. Otherwise, I LOVE this phone!!!

The volume on my 920 is the loudest of any phone I have ever used. I have it set on 2/10 and it's almost too loud.

I'm having this same issue, however it's happened on two different Lumia 920 phones. It's intermittent though. During the same call, half of the time I hear great and half of the time I can't hear anything. Even increasing the volume to 10/10 doesn't seem to help. I called Nokia support & they said it was an issue with bad AT&T signal at my house. I do have very few bars sometimes, so it's possible that's the issue, however one time I was having the issue & switched to speaker phone & it went away, so I think it may really be a hardware issue.
sounds like a call quality issue. Dial only goes to 10. Spinal Tap Release takes it to 11.

Wow....really, I would love to be able to have it at that low of a setting and it be too loud. Both my wifes and mine are mostly anywhere between 8-10 and there's no way it's close to being too loud for us. I may have to go into a AT&T store and see if we got a couple of lemons.
I would check that, I find the my rogers 920 earpiece is produces low tones, but not quite, almost like there might be too much bass but I also found I was holding the phone wrong lol and the earpiece wasn't pointed into my ear canal rather was press along my upper ear (yes its embarassing lol)

A few issues with new device. Are they normal?

Hey guys. This is the first device I've owned since the Galaxy Note 2, which was a great device in my opinion. I just got the z2 after extensive searching for a new phone. I couldn't decide between the m8 the z2 and the lumia 930. As photography was important for me I decided on this phone.
Anyways, I just got my phone today and I immediately noticed some oddities and I'd like to know if they're normal or if I should just return it for another. This is batch 14w28, so that means it was made in July.
The first is the volume for notifications... I can't hear them if I'm not paying attention to my phone! The volume is really low. I went into the options and raised the volume all the way up and still the same thing even though it's better. Very low
Build quality is good, but with the volume at max and using speakerphone or music or anything, I can feel the inside of the phone resonate or the sound moving around in there. Very awkward to be honest.
Phone quality. I hear a tinny sound in the background when someone speaks through the ear piece... Is this normal?
I love this device! It's gorgeous and runs very quickly! I'm very happy to get rid of Samsung for a while. Their devices were too cartoony, and I've had a lot of Samsung decides!
Well, please let me know. Thank you very much. Kind regards.
I've searched around and found these issues separately... But all together, is this normal?

Regarding Low notification volume: I believe only one speaker is utilized for notifications on stock ROM. There are mods available to both boost the volume as well as activate both speakers for notifications. Very simple too, just look on the first page of the Android Development section, or click here.
Regarding resonating and tinny sound: I do not experience this at all. My phone actually sounds quite nice playing back music through the speakers. I think you might want to have that looked at, but first try this: Go to Settings > Sound > Sound effects > Enable ClearAudio+

Thank you very much for your reply. I'm going to enable the option you mentioned... For example, playing music I put my finger to the right of the NFC icon and I can feel the vibrations within the phone. Is that normal?
In regards to the notification sounds, I don't know. I'll see how it develops. Thank you for your reply, really.
Also enable Dynamic normaliser in the sound settings can increase volume a bit. Also check out viper for android from here It's an awesome app m8:good:
I'll try a call again in a few. I changed a few other options. Let's see how it works! Because sound in a voice call sounds weird. But through speakerphone it all sounds great. I found the option for xloud and it worked and now it's tolerable. Thanks for your reply. ?
Well just in case someone is interested, Amazon is sending me a new device and taking back this one. Let's see if it still has the same voice quality! I'll report back. ?
Well, I had a second one... It squeaked next to the sony logo ... I felt like I was going to crush it every time I was on the phone.
Third one came, thought it was perfect. I hold it to make calls, all is fine. I let go to make calls and hold it with my head and shoulder while I type out a message or wash my hands or whatever... "Kent... KENT!? Hello!? Are you there?" it apparently makes a noise like it's hanging up or static...
I don't know if I'm going to ask for a 4th phone. Sony has some serious problems. 2 of these 3 phones were W19, the other W29 (or 28, I don't remember). Amazon said to wait until they're out of stock to get devices from a different batch... Arg...

[Q] Looking for working volume boost (CM11 m9 Nexus 7 2012)

It seems like every new version of Android, my volume gets lower, and my options for boosting the volume get fewer. Even my bluetooth headphones, which were originally absurdly loud, are now too quiet to be heard in many situations. I can't even use the thing for media anymore, which is the whole reason I got the thing. Does anyone know of a working method for boosting the volume on CM11 (4.4.4 kitkat)? I've searched high and low, and have come up with nothing but dead ends. Thank you.
