Hi All,
I flashed a new rom today, wiped data etc. When the phone was setting up and downloading my settings from my Google backup, one of the apps that showed in the status bar as downloading was "Dont Install!". Has anyone heard of this?!
I've tried searching for info, I came across one result of an app that had been removed from the market but couldn't find anything out. It wasn't listed as an app installed on my phone when I went to applications.
Anyone know what this is?
Thanks
Is it a system app?
Why not freeze it with TI back up and see what effects you have?
Never heard of this...
Hello,
im on miui on my sg2..
ive tried the new market and old market etc and apps and games are missing and wont show up in search...
for example Fifa etc i had it installed not long ago and now it wont show up in app maeket on my phone..
also when it says 1xxx results it wont let u scroll past 30 or so.. anyone know a fix plz??
The search result it supposed to give you a limit on how much you can see instead of letting you scroll through 1000+ apps.
Try searching the app using a pc browser. If you can't find the app its probably temporarily offline.
If not all your apps show up in market, go to settings, applications, find market and clear data. The next time you run market, the apps installed on your phone will be reloaded.

apps not showing past 32
Sorry to say this i think the previous thread has missed the question this is simply put.
When this guy/girl opens playstore
Clicks on games
Scrolls to the right for free games
It then does not show all list only 32.
However you fixed some of this problem lol
I'll try to keep this brief.
My wife and I both have stock standard HTC Aria's running Android 2.2. A few days ago my wife complained that her battery was discharging really fast. Then a day later mine started doing the same thing.Going flat in a few hours of standby. Normally at the end of the day they would both still have 8 out or ten bars still lit. I turned off wifi, mobile and bluetooth on both phones and that seemed to fix the battery problem.
Now when I turn on wifi or 3g I cant connect at all. My wifi router shows up in settings but it constantly is scanning-connecting-disconnecting. Also cant connect to 3g.
I have tried another sim card but the problem is the same.
As I said, these phone aren't rooted in any way. Have very few apps. Basically used as a phone.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Maybe you can try a new battery. Or, if you still have warranty, give it back to service.

You can try a factory reset as a last resort

Thanks dansou but the problem is not the battery. I believe the power was draining because an app was trying , constantly, to access the wifi which will not connect.

Thanks aster. I was hoping for a fix before doing a factory reset but I might have to resort to that.

If so, make a logcat, so we can try to track down which app is responsable for the problem...

Just did a factory reset and everything seems ok.
Just one other problem: When I log in to google play it is showing that I have 2 apps installed (airdroid and astro) These are no longer on my phone but google doesn't want to believe that. I've tried to trash them and tried installing them but nothing happens. It just says "These apps will be un/installed shortly"
Any thoughts?
Thanks

You may have already tried this, but maybe a reboot would do the trick. If rebooting doesn't help, you can use a file manager to take a look into Data>Apps or System>Apps and see if you can find their .apk files there and delete them. If you aren't rooted, you won't be able to delete them, and I'm not sure what you should do if that happens. If they aren't there, then it's probably just a graphical glitch and is showing what really isn't there.
EDIT: Sorry, I read your post wrong. Go into the app details of Google Play Store and select both clear data and clear cache, and that should solve the problem. If not, try rebooting.

Hi aster.
I'm going to sound like a real noob here but where exactly do I find the options for clear data and clear cache? I've attached a screenshot of my google play screen.
Thanks

Oh my bad, I wasn't really clear about that. It's actually in your phone settings, not the settings in the Play Store.
So you open up Play Store in 'Manage Applications' as if you were trying to uninstall it. In that menu, you'll see options like Force Stop/Disable. Scroll down, and you'll see the 'Clear data' and 'Clear cache' options, and there ya go. I hope I explained it well.

Unfortunately I don't have Play Store in my applications. In the screen shot I attached you can see Google Play Services showing as installed. That is another one of the apps showing as installed that are not actually on the phone.

If it's showing that only on the website, you shouldn't have to worry about it... It does that
It's probably showing them for the "old" one, before you did a factory reset

Oh I see now. I'm sorry, I thought you were saying that the phone was showing it.
Like WinSuk said, I don't see the problem if it's only showing it on the website. It could be showing what's installed on your wife's Aria if you two are sharing an account.

Sorry, I'm getting a bit confused here.
The apps that I mentioned; Airdroid, Astro, google play etc are showing as being installed on the google play web site. These apps are no longer on my phone after I did the factory reset. Therefore I have no way to reinstall the apps as google play is telling me they are already installed.
Is there another way to do this? Can I dl the apk files from somewhere else and install them manually?
Thanks again for all your help

You don't have the Play Store installed on your phone? If that's the case, you need to search up on google to find the apk file for it. Once you do that, you should be able to install the other apps you've mentioned.
Sorry if I misunderstood you again. I'm getting pretty confused here also.

Update:
I managed to install airdroid and Astro through Android Market app (was that the precursor to play store?)
Now when I log in to google play it shows those two apps as installed. Everything else is showing in "other apps in my library" waiting to be installed. I think I'll leave it at that. My airdroid is working again :good:
Thanks for every ones help.

Yep, the Android Market was renamed to the Google Play Store.
It'll eventually update automatically on your phone and change back to the Play Store
Eyy guys,
I'm sure I'm not alone here... Sometimes I install an app, then decide I don't want it installed at the time but still would like to keep track of it. So ideally I would like to add it to the wish list after I have had it uninstalled.
This seems not possible, the playstore won't let you add an app to your wish list after it has already been installed.
Just wanted to check if this is correct or if anyone knows a work around.
Thanks.

Sorry to disappoint you, but that is not possible. I personally have tried many attempts.
Please let me know if you have found any method.
BTW have you tried clearing Market's data and tried?

Hi,
Bummer to hear that. I have tried clearing market cache and data, then reboot and it still can't be done.
Thanks for the reply.
I can't try this at the moment, but have you tried removing the app from the "Installed" list as well? You can access that from the side drawer > My Apps > Slide to the right.
Hi GermainZ,
Sure have. I have uninstalled the app, then hit the little 'X' in the "ALL" apps list (under "My apps"). Then cleared cache and data from Play Store app (through phone's settings), then rebooted phone.
Haha, it looks like it simply cannot be done.
Thanks for the reply.
Ps: funny thing is... after all those steps, the app still shows as "Installed" when I visit the play store on my PC.
Just go to my apps in the playstore and hit the all tab and your download history will be there

Look for the Lumen Toolbar as it controls screen dimming. Or if you have any battery saver apps that might control that to save battery. Turn up the brightness manually all the way and try again.
