after i rooted my player i went into google play and downloaded this root tools app to change things and i may have changed a boot up animation and it required a reboot and as it went to the samsung logo it went into a bootloop. i did lots of research and i download odin which wouldnt work and heimdall which refused to open. so is there any way to get my 2 week old player working agian?
thanks in advance,
Isaac

Well this is what I'd do: Open Odin3, put your player in download mode,(VolUp+Pwr) and download Entropy512's Kernal(the .tar) or if youre on a 4.0 then rumirands kernal and flash that to your player. Then flash a stock rom via CWM. If you have nothing important on your player then you can just wipe user data and you'd be done.

The thing is the package made for US players are supposed to be flashed using heimdall. and rumirand is for 5.0 INTL not for 4.0
But did you installed this?

EDIT: Oops it seems that you already downloaded it but i'll keep the link in case.

Try this solution from the heimdall's creator:
I have been trying to run this for a while now to downgrade from JM6 on my tab, i keep on getting the attached error, I have installed VC++ runtime, i am on Win7 Ultimate, 32 bit OS
Hmm, that error looks like the kind of error you would receive when the VC++ runtimes aren't installed, or not properly installed, on your system. Do a search in your Windows\system32 directory for the DLL that is giving the error to make sure it's there. This certainly shouldn't be required, but try copying that DLL to the same directory as the Heimdall executables.

i've tried the root method for the sticky in the dev. section. One click user just stalls out at step 5 it seems. Elsewise .... how long is step 5 supposed to take? All i have to show for my efforts so far is the old boottriangle. I came from an Epic Touch 4g (which i had no problems rooting). Any helpful suggestions?
Thanks in advance

When it stalls and freezes unplug USB then go into settings uncheck then check USB debugging then plug USB back in. It will finish up the process.

Use superOneClick again and after it stalls out on step 6
simply unplug usb cable from computer for a couple seconds
then plug in back in and bingo you are good to go!
If that doesn't work just download this file and flash in cwm

.apk files are not going to be recognized by Odin. .tar files are recognized by it. If you don't have root but have flashed codeworkx kernel then close Odin download this to your phone hereand flash in cwm
Apk is an application much like .exe in windows
rev. *.tar i think i need to begin with a proper version of odin (which i can't seem to find.) By the way, i can't boot into recovery. had that been the case, i'd already been nandroiding and running CM7
Odin does not see the su-3.0-efgh-signed.zip

ok, i'm a little confused where you are right now with all this, so I'm going to start over.
1) flash this kernel (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1285823) but skip the step that roots via superoneclick
2) flash this CWM file to acquire root (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1286220)

Wait, you flashed my pre-rooted system image tar?
Then there is no need to use SuperOneClick or the CWM kernel - you should be rooted already.
Also, if you flash my kernel instead of the CWM one, it will automatically root you on the first boot.
Thank you guys I certainly appreciate the help. I look forward to flashing root / cm7! Afterall, aside from service, the main reason I switched from Epic Touch 4G.

Somehow you corrupted param.lfs. It can be downloaded separately and flashed with heimdall in my return-to-stock thread.

Alright so in the middle of setting up my phone to flash, i formatted system, boot, wiped data and factory reset and what not then accidently selected reboot system. For some odd reason after that it just got stuck on the vibrant screen. I cant get it into recovery but I can get it into download mode however when trying to odin back to stock my computer does not recognize my phone and odin does not pick it up. I was running MIUI-NB "smart meets smoothness" and have GB bootloaders from using passion v8. any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Hmm format /boot and reboot was bad, at least you got download mode so not hard brick.
Make sure you have proper drivers is all I can think of (some AOSP rom need nexus driver)

Volume down is download mode.
Hold menu, power and volume up at the same time.
If you have a custom recovery (likw cwm ClockWorkMod) then you would be able to flash a dorimanx kernel (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1617219) I would download a 7.x version (newest) and flash it through cwm. Or, of course, if you want a different rom then flash the rom like Muthzer the One said.

Did you download this one? Kernel_Dorimanx-V8.43-[12-21]-[24-10]-TAR-FOR-ODIN.tar
When you succesfully flashed this kernel through odin you've got root access

You must not unzip it. Just download it and leave it as it is. Odin needs the tar file.

I flashed a custom rom on my device and accidently disabled "OEM unlock". Then when i powered of my phone, the FRP activated...
I am searching the internet for 4 days already and have no clue of what to do. I have already tried to ReFlash a ROM(which failed and broke the system )
I cannot get to the recovery menu or boot the system, but I can go to "Download mode" I have seen a lot of tutorials in which they just flash a new ROM and it does work for them.
I have also tried to turn on "OEM unlock" with ADB but my computer doesn't detect it!

When flashing firmware via Odin, do you use all 4 files? (BL, AP, CP, and CSC)

Using all 4? And make sure you give it awhile after flashing, usually takes mine about 10 minutes but I'd give it a few more. If still no then boot into recovery (Power it off and then hold Power + Volume Up + Home) and factory reset. Wipe cache as well and then reboot.

Thanks

Right, yeah. i did download one of these, but it didn't work.
Should any of these function the same?
Or, how should I choose one?
Thank you, btw.

Well try removing the ".md5" extension so it is "whateverthefilenameis.tar"
At least that worked for me
Ah, is that all? Ok
just one last quick question: is there a difference between the ones with the blue S and the gray s?

I really cannot understand you, you just download the ".tar.md5" file, remove the ".md5" extension and flash it with Tor using AP and some other options which you can google
Ah, Tor. Not Odin?
Okay, thank you for your help.
I'm downloading now, thanks.
