[Q] jokersax11's CM9 Google Play Market Missing - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

First of all, I don't need help finding the Google Apps zip or the APK for the Play Store; I need to know if this is something to watch for that will predict the end for my Atrix.
I installed jokersax11's CM9 port for Atrix and faux123's 1.45GHz CM9 kernel. After installing those through CWM (in that order), I installed the latest Google Apps version for CM9, downloaded from the CyanogenMod wiki page. When I installed the zip and rebooted, the Play Store was there. However, when I downloaded AnTuTu benchmark and tried to run it (it force closed), Play store was not there. Figuring it might be a cache thing, I booted into CWM recovery and cleared the cache, then installed the Google Apps zip again. To much avail, the Play Store app was still not there. A search on Google got me the APK, so I didn't have too much of a problem with not having the app around.
I think what I'm trying to ask here is if this should be something to watch for down the road - since jokersax11's ROM is a beta, I'm somewhat afraid if this is a sign of a brick or other problems down the road.
P.S. jokersax11's CM9 port is really fast - it boots faster than the other Samsung devices I use. Great job, jokersax11.
P.P.S. AnTuTu Benchmark crashes my phone when I try to run the benchmark! Stay away!

Highly doubt its anything serious. Not sure what to say though, have you tried clearing cache and dalvik?

Dalvik cache and ordinary cache cleared, though I'm not sure if it had an effect, since I already installed an APK from some site I found with Google. Thanks for the assist.

i had this problem with my first android phone
the solution was to re-run the phone setup (like you get when you turn on the phone for the first time), maybe the touchpad has something similar?
Have you tried deleting the app data (Settings => Apps => Google Play => clear settings), and then re-flashing the GApps package ?

Tried all of that, still not working.
Another thing, I could never get CWM to install, always had to flash through novacom command.
One fix on a phone was to open a terminal app and type the following:
Su <enter>
Killall drmserver <enter>
Don't type the enters just hit enter let us know if it works

Hi
First of all did you reflasg your GAPPS also after flashing with latest build of CM9? If no then you need to flash latest GAPPS from this site.
goo-inside.me/gapps
Also after that varify that you system date and time are correct in your settings. This could be another reason that google play doesnot load at all.
Hope this helps.
I abandoned Android for a while and used WebOS on my Touchpad. But today I decided to reinstall Android again with the latest CM9 nightly. I'm still getting the same problem. Here are the things I already tried:
- Installed latest CM9 nightly, CWM, and the latest gapps from goo-inside.me/gapps, this time I actually got CWM to work.
- Wiped data/cache, ran the google setup again.
Google Play still won't install anything, it just hangs on "Downloading". I can install apps manually by downloading the APK files from the browser. What else can I try to fix this?
Maybe you can try to wipe out all the data

may be you can wipe out all the data , and try again to install gaaps, i do it twice, everytime i wipe all the data, i have to reinstall all my apps, so you can just go into the advance option of the start menu
I had the downloading from marketplace error before when I used titanium backup to uninstall/freeze things i thought phone didn't need, some of them it needed, but if you did clean install/reset and still doesn't work, i doubt it is this

[Q] How to install Youtube

Hello fellow users of XDA,
I recently downloaded Cyanogenmod 9 for the Asus transformer prime and I also installed the Google Apps Package.
However, there is no Youtube app in the app drawer and I cannot seem to download it from the Google Play Store, is there anyway to get Youtube back?
Any help is appreciated, thank you so much.

Strange, unless there is a compatibility issue right now with CM9 ( I would check the CM page here on XDA or where ever you downloaded from to make sure this isn't the issue). Otherwise, I would redownload and reflash CM9 and GAPPS (google apps 4/29 or latest) and see if that doesn't fix it. Make sure if you didn't the first time that you full data wipe factory reset. Back up any apps with Titanium backup root. If you did wipe the first time you installed CM9 then just do a cache wipe in CMW.
Youtube is no longer included in Gapps.

Thanks, its still not there haha, Kinda weird. Is it usually found in the Play Store as well? There's apps like Amazon and Tumblr that won't download to the Prime..

Out of space issue

I am currently running into an issue installing apps from both the play store and trying to side loads apps from XDA. I have over 6gb free on both the internal and sdcards and yet A number of apps are giving me the out of space error when I try to install but not all apps are giving me the error some install no problem others not so lucky. I am getting the error with apps such as MXPlayer Google services and ES File Explorer even tho youtube installed fine from an older apk becuase the new version requires google services to be installed. I have cleared data and cache of the play store and google framework and even tried clearing the dalvik cache and that did not help either. Running CM7 on a Nook Tablet 16gb. So some help with this issue would be great as this is annoying me big time and preventing me from fully ultilizing my Nook Tablet.

Official CM 10.1 Android 4.2.2 HELP

I would have liked to post a reply in the Dev section but can't since i've not acquired the neccesary 10 posts. I am having trouble getting Gmail and Chrome to install on Hashcodes ROM. When i try to install these from the play store, Play just closes and wont re-open until i clear data and force close. I installed the Gapps posted in the original thread but still no gmail, chrome and Google Now. I know Chrome doesn't come in the gapps pack. I did factory reset then reflashed gapps. Cleared Delvik/cache and rebooted. Still same problem. Any ideas? I'm sorry if this has been addresed previously as i wasn't able to find the information through the 100 of 250+ pages read. This ROM is pretty amazing and am not having any problems with using this as my DD.

Redownload your gapps and ROM and try reflashing. Or verify the current files match the md5 hash as you should always before flashing.
Alright thanks.

[Q] ArchiDroid 2.2.4 cannot install GMaps anymore

Hello,
atfer i updated from ArchiDroid 2.2.3 to 2.2.4 i saw that GMaps wasnt shown in the Launcher anymore, so i checked and it isnt even installed on my device.
When i try to install it from the Play Store i get the Error Code: Incompatible with other applications(s) using the same shared user ID
So i tried to flash the latest GApps package for CM but still GMaps isnt showing up.
Does anybody know how i can fix this problem?
Regards,
Fixi
Same Problem
Have got exactly the same problem using ArchiDroid V1.7.3, issue was mentioned in the Develpoment section but the only solution offered was to wait a few hours until Google Play recognises the phone.
The rom been installed for several days now & I'm still unable to install G Maps from the store due to the ID issue, short of reinstalling the rom has anybody got any thoughts?
Thanks...
Hey.
You can download inverted GMAPS directly from my github -> https://github.com/JustArchi/ArchiD...system/app/com.google.android.apps.maps-1.apk then put into /system/app. Otherwise make sure that there's no uninstalled junk left in /system/app and /data/app directories. You can also clear google store's data. Eventually if everything fails you can full wipe and make sure to UNTICK google maps in aroma (if you don't want inverted version), it's unticked in the default configuration.
Let me know if you have further problems.
Have fun with ArchiDroid.
All Done
Many thanks for the info Archi, worked perfectly. Love the Rom, super smooth... :victory:
