custom nokia 800 rom work on a att 900 - Nokia Lumia 800

wouldnt the lumia 800 custom roms work because its the same phone just th EU version!??

The Lumia 800 is not an EU version of the 900. The 800 is sold in North America as well as other non-European places.
They are similar, but they have some slight hardware differences and use different firmware. Maybe in the future their will be a custom ROM for the 900.

Lumia 800 WCDMA 850?

I have got a Nokia Lumia 800 RM-801.
Is it now possible to flash WCDMA 850 Network support onto this model?
I have read a few comments about flashing with Nokia Care Suite and Nokia Data Package manager but no real clear indication of whether or not its possible.
I am using Telstra (australia) and they use the same 850MHz frequency as AT&T. I am unable to find any RM-819 models anywhere.

Lumia 800 and AT&T

So long story short, I'll lose my unlimited data if i switch to an LTE device and I really like the Lumia 900, the 800 is basically the 900 minus the LTE (and a smaller screen but whatever) but it also lacks the 3G 850 band.
Has anyone tried this phone stateside on AT&T, and if so did you get alright 3G coverage?
I've been using the UK unbranded Cyan 800 since Jan on AT&T in Seattle. I, too, am not willing to lose my unlimited data plan for $20/mth. Coverage is good. Would really love to have 850 3G coverage though, as the 1900 is spotty. It performs well though.
Do what you can to find an RM-819 device somewhere. You can spend an arm and a leg and get it from MSFT bundled with accy's. Or, you can import one from another country.
Awesome! Now if I could only find what band covers the western New York area I'd be half tempted to sell off my Radar
And thanks for the tip about the RM-819, just checked telus's site and it looks like their 800 supports the 850 band so I might not need to see which band covers my area

I, too, was looking for an RM-819 for a decent price, but I haven't had much trouble with the RM-801 in Austin on AT&T's 3G. Some places where I would normally have 3G, this phone gets EDGE, but that's an acceptable compromise for having this phone.
Just get one off Ebay they have plenty there and some are going for cheap
You can get an RM-801 or RM -819 on Amazon. Amazon doesn't tell you which one is which, but I bought both and returned one of them.
The one labelled "Nokia Lumia 800 black 16GB -FACTORY UNLOCKED" is an RM-801, and it's a German T-Mobile/Vodafone branded phone that has been unlocked. $439.99
The one labelled "Nokia Lumia 800 NK-800 Windows Unlocked Phone-International Version" is an RM-819 and it's an unbranded Puerto Rico variant, which is what I have. $491.88
Try omegacell.com.
They are in Alberta. The guy have quite a réputation. Bought mu rm-801 from Jim. Je do have rm-819 in stock now.
a word of warning
Remember that manufacturers are terrible at providing accurate statistics about their phones. Remember when Nokia's own website said 850 band was include? The same was true for newegg.com and plemix and many others. So regardless of which say 850 band is include understand that they're most likely wrong unless it is in the place of the 900 band. Or it specifically says rm819.
Another note, that htc radar will work on at&t if it is (A) unlocked and (B) the t-mobile usa model. The same is true for the Lumia 710. T-mobile was bad ass about that and included some of at&t's 3g bands.

How I unlock the Lumia 800 from puerto rico locked to Claro?
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
Just to be explicit here - there are TWO versions of he Lumia 800. RM-801 is the original European release. Microsoft now sells RM-819 in its Microsoft Stores, which adds the AT&T 850 band and does HSPA+ (which shows up on the phone as "4G").
Long story short: US buyers avoid the original model and insist on getting the RM-819 for AT&T use.

Whitch Lumia?

I'm looking for a new phone and I like the Nokia Lumia 800.
Research it on the 'net and I found that there is different 800 models.
Some have Telstra stuff on it and other have a "C" after the 800 other
have only 800.
I'm in Australia so which model Lumia 800 I should get if I don't want
to be with Telstra?
Thanks. Charles.
For Telstra and Vodafone, you need the Nokia Lumia 800 RM-819 model which includes the 850/2100 MHz 3G band
For Optus and Virgin, you need the Lumia 800 RM-801 which includes the 900/2100 MHz 3G band
Lumia 800C is for the Chinese market only
Hope this helps.
Thank's onetik, the info will help me, I'm with Virgin now so
the RM-801 is for me.
Cheers.

Let's settle this...Is radio hardware identical for ALL Lumia 920s?

Hello,
I've read way too many contradicting answers for this question, so I'd like to dedicate a thread just to clarify this once and for all for everyone...hopefully.
The S4 processor has a software-defined radio. Does that mean that there are no variations in hardware (radio) across all Lumia 920s?
And has anyone flashed a Rogers 920 to an unbranded European ROM?
Thanks!
The Lumia 920 american versions identify themselves as RM-820. The EU versions identify themselves as RM-821. Flashing an 820 with an 821-ROM seems not to work though I can't remember on which thread here I read it.
Given that the Rogers variant seems to support the 1700 Mhz AWS band while the EU variants don't I guess that we might be looking at different radio hardware as well but I can't tell you with certainty.
I think someone who can do a teardown would be able to answer. I am not so brave.

[Q] Flash an RM-821 to RM-820?

Because I'm a layman, I believe a little backstory for all of the other laymen helps to understand the issue.
I bought a new Lumia 920 unlocked with the RM-821 firmware from Best Buy. So I when it arrived, I threw my AT&T Lumia 900's SIM into the 920, called up AT&T to make the swap and it was working. The problem I have since discovered is the RM-821 variant does not use the same bands as an AT&T-branded 920 running RM-820 firmware, which means I cannot get LTE on my new unlocked, unbranded 920. Neither do i travel the world nor live outside of North America, so it's stupid for me to be running a ROM that cannot access my carriers LTE bands.
I've read through several threads on here and elsewhere researching the topic. Other than failed attempts to revert back to RM-820 from an RM-820 AT&T device after converting to RM-821, I have not found any definitive answers .
Is it possible to go from a factory flashed RM-821 Lumia 920 to RM-820 AT&T firmware? Thanks to everyone ahead of time for your responses.

The only ATT (i.e. RM-820) I've been able to load back onto my phone after loading a rogers ROM is the ATT Dev Rom.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2425722
that's a little more involved than what I did, but I can confirm I have the ATT Dev ROM, and was not able to load standard 820 roms
Any other thoughts?
I'd like to know if anyone has experience going to 821 to 820 on an unbranded phone.
