Stock Dialler Keypad Tone - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone figured out if it's possible to replace the rather annoying 'drip' sound when entering a phone number in the dialler?

Search is your friend.

hardly...trawling through hundreds of unrelated posts thrown up by search is hardly user friendly just like people who post "search is your friend".

Wouldn't it be great to be smarter than everyone else?

[Help] MIUI concerns and questions

Been toying around with the new MIUI Tom and glitch kernel for the past week and have noticed a couple issues.
1 g sensor....sucks
2 inability to mass text. Messages come up as
3 restoring data doesn't work 100% of the time
4 3g sometimes stops working. Fixed by turning data on and off
5 no camera flash or flash apps will work
6 error in notification bar "Sync: too many contacts deletes"
Anyone else having the same issues or know any work arounds?

Is this development? No. So you could have put this in either the MIUI thread or the Questions and Answers. This does not belong here.

God. Do people just suck? when you sign up to be a part of XDA there is a video you watch if you're a noob. There are rules everywhere. And GOD common ****ing sense tells you to post a question in a QNA section. Use the search bar, its what its there for. All of your ISSUES with MIUI are already known by the community if you'd take the time to look. Jesus.

I searched for this and hope I didnt miss it but here we go... Can anyone port dialer from samsung infuse to
S2... The reason is bc dialer for infuse will let you hang up on single call when you have someone on hold, and when yoi are on 3 way call you can select which call to hang up on plus answer multile calls and confedence then in as well, and yessss have the ability to select which call to disconnect... If this is already somewhere else please be kind, I did look lol

Questions or Problems Should Not Be Posted in the Development Forum

Moving to Q&A

General question

Is anybody else sick and tired of people sayin, "this needs to be moved to the q&a...". Also to all of you people that are die hard search buttons freaks. People like blogs because they can interact, not everybody likes to read everybodys dated opinions without a chance to reply. Technology changes with new development so if someone wants to start a new evo3d vs whatever thread, then more power to them. This is just my question in general.

It's ok to ask questions in General & Q&A, anywhere else poses issues to those who use search at it's best.
Some might gripe about General (real tight-assed people) but whatever with that.
BUT look at it this way:
Say you ask a very good question but you post it in the wrong area & someone searches Q&A. You've effectively screwed someone who was following directions who could've found your thread in "search". You also mess up the flow with people who are (annoyingly but rightly) mentioning that it needs to be moved.
Posting in the right area helps your fellow members & helps keep "Search" effective & the Question Thread.
Is it perfect, no. Is it the greatest tool on XDA? Yes.
Most phones do not even have both sections. Honestly i dont search with my laptop, but i try my best with thw app but imo it stays pretty broad

Please use search....

I know there are alot of people new to xda on here and alot of new android users, however if you look in our general boards there are tons of topics that are being repeated. Please use search because odds are you question or concern might have come up or discussed already.
Im not trying to be rude or make people mad, but when you signed up its part of the rules.

This pointless thread clutters up the forum just as bad as someone who doesn't use the search function and posts something, there hasn't even been a problem of redundant threads in this forum (yet).
The phone has been out less than a week and we have like 4 or 5 tmobile threads, 4 visual voicemail, atleast 3 city id, i see a pattern coming on.

It's not so bad, and I guarantee this thread will change nothing. They never do.
Just trying to throw it out there, If 30 people search because they saw this instead of making a new thread thats 30 less everyone has to scroll though

I agree. This should probably be stickied, as it is quite difficult to follow a thread with so many new redundant ones being created. I may have at some point, but if the number of new redundant posts is reduced, it will be better for everybody.
That being said, a whole lot of the users here are completely new to android and XDA as a result, therefore they don't fully know the rules and will need to learn. Having this thread stickied would probably help that.
I can appreciate your intentions, but I guarantee you someone who was planning on opening a redundant thread is not going to open this thread first and have some mind-blowing epiphany about the metastasizing cancer of reckless thread starting without using the search feature and thus starting a thread about something that's been previously posted about.
Besides, the mods here would get bored.
Its like world peace, it will never be perfect but just trying to do what i can to stop the chaos

Hmmm... Me thinks I have already seen this post somewhere else... This was already asked and answered on another forum.
OP: please don't post the same question twice. It won't help answer your question any faster.

If u can't bother to learn the rules and treat this place like a help desk you're going to get flamed. But then u ***** and complain at the people who are telling u not to double post? Yer in the wrong. And we're gonna tell ya about it. If you don't like it, here's a suggestion-- don't double post! Its annoying and makes u look like a desperate fat chick at prom, who came with her friends because Jimmy Yachovich, the guy who was supposed to take u, got mysteriously and violently ill at the last minute.

Like I said I tried to remove post but since I don't actually post often I didn't know how to remove. I figured it belonged here instead of general q and a so that's why its here and I couldn't remove from general or I just don't know how.

It regards a theme/app but it is still a general q question. You cannot remove a thread (unless directed by a mod) once you have posted it. I would remove a couple of my own otherwise >.> . People do get way too obnoxious about their "rules" and honestly it doesn't prevent noobs from making the same mistakes over and over again anyways, so I think it's stupid of them. But they are trying to teach you that they hate you because of what you did, lol. It's not a big deal. People just have sticks up their butt because everyone assumes that everyone else hates the rules being broken all the time. Personally, it does keep clutter down if things aren't double posted. But this forum is so massive anyway, that regardless of double posts, there's a lot to go through..so to each their own. Not a big deal to me. I'm glad you found the answer yourself, and this double post actually REMINDED me, that I still needed to search for the stock weather widget, so thanks
And its mostly people that live on here that see the double post and the flame you for it but ehh what can you do... nothing lol...
Sent from my SGH-I777 using xda premium
Ok...since i was the first to point out the double post, and the thread seems to be getting out of hand, I just wanted to say that my intention was never to flame anyone. I simply pointed out that this was a double post, and I asked the op, in what I thought was a polite way, to please not double post in the future because I know people here don't like it and because it does clutter the boards. From there the thread just got out of hand. I don't know what I did to offend the op, but whatever it was I apologize.
Now a mod needs to close this thread, please.
Thread Closed because op figured his issue out. Op your language here on XDA is unacceptable. Read the rules. In addition, if anyone quotes the bad language I have to delete those posts too. Just report the post please. Everyone makes it worse by quoting the crap. Btw op, for future reference the edit button at the bottom of your post allows you to modify/delete what you wrote...
