The First Phone i bricked was a nokia n97 ( which was a crappy phone anyways ) was very fixable but i bricked it even further so it wont turn on, so i could take it back and get a refund to buy another phone, did a silly move and bought myself an iphone and 2nd day it gave me the ****s n was boring as so i gave it to my wife.
so i have bricked an nokia n97 and a acer a500 iconia tablet ( which i fixed nicely and still have it ).
What kind of bricked thread is this !!
Anyways, I bricked my lg optimus one 3 times because of using kdz updater.
Press the "Thanks" button below if I've helped.
any kind of bricked, either semi or hard bricked
Is this thread really necessary in the GS3 forum?

The first and hopefully last one I bricked was one of mine Dell Streak 5 phones (I had two of them).

I never bricked a phone, the only thing I ever bricked is my 1st wii when there was no brick protection, I tried to downgrade like a noob and the wii just froze, hardbrick
Bricked HTC Incredible S yesterday. Still do not know what to do with that phone.
Got S III now.
How is this related to the gs3? Never bricked a phone. Soft bricks do not count as bricks.
Softbricked my galaxy s loooots of times (never actually managed to fail bootloader update)

If you use the term "bricked" correctly, then your phone would be unfixable after being bricked. That's why it's a brick because you might as well just chuck it.

K750i !! way back in 2006.
HTC Desire. It was one of the AMOLED screen ones and I flashed a firmware for sLCD to it. Wasn't really bricked, just couldn't see the screen. Managed to reflash a new rom blind thanks to help from XDA.
Nokia 1610 (September 1996). Ran over it with my car. That bricked it.
Nokia 6600 in 2004/5 after doing a hard format it got stuck in a boot loop, but was on contract so Orange sent a replacement by courier the next day.

I tried to flash my phone with LGMDP.exe and I've bricked it
I've tried all ways to make kdz recognise it with no success and the phone doesn't even enter in emergency mode...
So my sad question is: if I say to LG that I've bricked my phone with their official software during the last 2.3.3 italian updgrade (released this morning), will they repair my phone without making me pay money?
Thanks to all that will answer me
LG Italia services are dumb,so you can say it without problems. Also rooting and custom romming the phone doesn't void warranty.

Tell them that the phone has bricked during the update with the official tool. Generally LG accepts the warranty. Most probably they'll change the main board.
Just tell them that the phone was working at night and when you woke up it was like this. You don't need to mention the update. They'll change the board, quietly.
Are you sure it is bricked? No mode is working?

@ciaox: haha ok
@kopchev: I just hope they'll repair it within one or two weeks...

KDZ doesn't recognize the phone in any goddamn way... It doesn't go in Emergency Mode and I've tried to reinstall lg drivers a couple of times

Unplug than remove battery. That's the correct method to brick it.

Mine was repaired within 3 days. I sent them on tuesday, the returned it to me on thursday. In the service log I saw that they ordered new mainboard on tuesday and received it on thursday. Very quick, which is not typical for Bulgaria

So a few days back, my mini pro started to act weird; when the keyboard was out the touchscreen wouldn't work. By the evening the whole screen stopped working. Warranty is out, so I tore down the whole phone, checked all the connections but in vain. I flashed the phone back to stock firmware, but still stuck with no touchscreen. I think this is a pure hardware problem. And I'm kinda scared to give my phone to these private dealers, they might swap out the original parts for fake ones, learned the hard way when I gave in my old Nokia for repair.
So I thought I'd share my problem with you guys, any help would be appreciated.

Bro, its an hardware issue.. The flex that connects from motherboard to the display is damanged.. Give it to the nearest Sony ericsson service center n get it replaced.. Do not give it to private vendors.they tend to spoil your phone.. Dont worry even if ur not on stock ROM or kernel.. Just tel them not to upgrade your software during the process..else it'l be fixed. Cheers..

Thanks for the real quick reply man, I thought so. With that in mind I took the phone apart and check the connections. Finding them intact I came to quite the same conclusion.
Any idea how much this would cost?

Maybe a silly question, but is it charged? Does it show the charging animation when you plug it up? Try another outlet? Does the pc say anything when connected to the pc?
Also might be helpful to know what you used to root and the ROM used and to insure that you got it for the i717 and not the n7000.

U might need to pull battery
Then hold power button for 30 seconds or until u feel a vibrate
"Since God created man, and man created the Galaxy Note, the Galaxy Note are like a gift from God, Randal!"
You will have to jtag your note or chance sending it in for a replacement. It wont power on because the firmware needed to do so is missing or bad. You will need special tools to jtag your note and you will need to do some research on How to take your note apart and where your jtag points are and needed program to write rom to your note.

Considering that there is no Romow from for the the i717 I think you might have flashed a ron for the n7000 and bricked your note. Not sure but just thought I'd tell you what I think is the problem

Yeah you flashed a N7000 International note ROM.. try sending it in or jtag it as mentioned above. You should have done more research before flashing.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
Yeah dude Romow is for the international version. You flashed firmware designed for the Exynos processor on your Qualcomm equipped Note. Easiest way to brick. Now you know! Hopefully you can jtag it.

Ok,
I took my phone back to complete stock last night using odin, this morning I wanted to update the phone so my kiddo could get the new market, after downloading kies and running the update the phone will not turn on at all. it does not show when I connect a charger and I cant get it to go into download mode. Any suggestions or is this phone now done?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=848737
I Tried this and it didn't work. I really believe my phone is completely dead!
So there is no sign of life at all? No leds or any backlight behind the screen? If not, then you are hardbricked. Kies is notorious for hardbricking phones.
You can call your carrier or Samsung and tell them your phone was bricked using THEIR software and see where that goes.
Sorry for your loss.
Nothing at all idk what they will say since I've had the phone since brand new

I had the exact problem you did. Tmobile sent me a replacement, and now I have a phone with no scratches or dings! :victory:
Well I've had mine since the day it came out, it it's out of warranty so t-mobile won't cover it, Samsung was not going to cover it at first but after it was said and done they decided to cover it since it was there software that bricked my phone
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
This happened to me awhile back! I called T-Mobile, but as I was out of warranty, no phone could be sent! Wish I would've seen this thread before I tossed it...
Coming from HTC phones and an ASUS Transformer I've never heard of this before. This is my first Samsung rooted phone. Every time you flash a custom ROM or Kernel this count goes up. So what? I guess my warranty could be voided, but other that???
If you don't care about voiding your warranty you have no issues
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
That's pretty much it. Only noobs worry about this.
Anyway, some awesome dev will come up with a way to reset the counter, just like my other samsung phones, ie triangle away.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
I think people take this way too seriously.... When the SGS2 came out last year , I had to do a warranty exchange after only having the phone for a couple months. I was worried about returning my phone since it was rooted and I had flashed a butt load of ROM's. They sent me a new phone and I had to return mine in the same package. I was scared that samsung would totally go over the phone with a fine toothed comb and find that I had voided the warranty. Maybe I got lucky because nothing ever happened. Just my 2 cents, but when you send your warranty covered phone to Samsung, I doubt they take the time to check. Just return it to stock and dont have any signs of tweaking to it. Peace
It's on HTC phones too, and they can reset the counter.
