As title says, there were some pre-release models launched on some Optus dealers, which is believed to be dated before Oct 26 2011.
You can tell if yours is pre-release defect model by:
Settings -> Build date -> If yours is built before Oct 26, your model is a pre-release
Green tint to your screen on low/auto brightness
Viewing a black screen, you will be able to see black spots & splashes inside the screen
Fuzzy static all over the camera
Noticable lag when scrolling left & right at the app screen
My build was Oct 19, 2011, and is defective of all of the above.
THE PROBLEM? To the average phone user, you wouldn't be able to spot these problems. I am a perfectionist, so I see all the small details and was able to quickly identify these issues.
THE ANSWER? Send it back to your local dealer to get it sent to the Motorola service centre to get it checked/replaced.
Other Aussie Optus Razr users please test to see if your pre-release models are also the same, apparently the local dealers either pretend they dont know they are selling pre-release models, or they genuinely dont know they've stocked pre-releases.
P.S. Please post your build date & if you have the same issues so rest of the Aussie community can be more aware of these defective models.

Motorola actually has responded about the "black blotches" here https://supportforums.motorola.com/thread/61777?tstart=30 stating it's not a defect. The app drawer stutters a little even on builds 10/26 and later, I think it's just due to the coding not being as refined as it could be. The app drawer stutters slightly when you first scroll the app drawer left to right, but after that there is no more lag/stuttering. The screen will have a slight bluish tint to preserve the life of the blue pixels/subpixels, but the screen shouldn't have a green tint. Another issue I identified not sure if it's normal or defect.. There is a tiny bit of light from the search capacitive bleeding out into the lower right corner. I noticed this while watching netflix and looking at darker backrounds. A few others have confirmed this and their replacement has this as well, but others state they don't see this. Wonder what is the deal here .
Build date Wed Oct 26 18:47:38 CDT 2011.
Does this count as pre-release. It's not before Oct 26th.

No if it's the 26th and later it's not pre-release. Anything before 10/26 is a pre-release model.

Yours is not a pre-release, but if you suffer from any of the above defects, may very well be.
Oct 26 build razr's seem to have none/close to none of the defects above, which is why it is unfair that we shouldd be using a pre-release.
At the moment, my razr is being inspected at the service centre, will report back soon and share the news with you guys.
Mine was on the 25th, but I rooted, still good to send back???
Sent from my XT910 using XDA App
And to note, I notice the back screen, the camera, and the laginess, I do not notice the screen very much. Where did you get this info anyways? P.S. I'm on Rogers as well.

Build Date is 29 Oct. Have this screen issue. No lags found at app drawer scrolling.
Here is my post regarding screen: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19394445&postcount=8 I think its more a usual behavior for most RAZR's OLED displays as motorola support team says. I've not heard that someone does not have this issue.

651.73.15.XT910.Retail.en.FR here, build date 17 Oct.
No screen issues with black pictures... probably UK release is different (in fact those have a different boot animation)

Yes, got it on Expansys
Actually smart actions doesn't activate GPS...but I'm at work, closed building. I'll test it more...
EDIT: Confirmed, Smart Actions doesn't activate GPS... the curious thing is you can't use position if you havent't wi-fi enabled.
About Expansys, I think i'll contact their quality service again (did it already because they missed car charger at first) noticing this situation. They won't be happy about this...
UPDATE: Just informed Expansys, let's see how they reply
I've got this reply on the "black screen" issue from retailer:
We have not heard of this issue before. However, it may be related to the glue that is used to stick the screen down. I know from past experience that AMOLED screens have been know to have yellow or red tinges which can be noticeable on a white screen. This colouration does fade in time as the glue dries fully. I suspect this may be a similar issue with your phone but cannot be certain.

From my previous posts I've attached image which really seems like glue have not dried up. What do you think about such opinion?
Also here is similar problem on android central forum:

And here is a similar issue discussed with SGII:

Hi all,
I'm looking at a Galaxy Tab 10.1 for a friend: everything seems to work fine except the screen is a bit stuffed. It really looks like the colour depth has been set to something ridiculously low, but I can't see anywhere to change this. See attached images of the stock wallpaper and the second test image posted by asolanki in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1603650.
I had to take pictures of these links: if I just did a screen shot and emailed the images then although the screen shot showed the banding / colour depth problem, the emailed images looked fine.
I've done a factory reset, but still the same. Could this be a hardware issue?
Model: GT-P7510
Version: 3.2
Kernel: 2.6.36.4 [email protected] #1
Build: HTJ85B.UEKMP.P7510UEKMP
Has anyone ever seen anything like this, or have any suggestions? If it's a software problem, could rooting the device and/or installing a custom ROM help in any way?
Thanks,
Barney

Rest assured that is an hardware issue, and a screenshot (taken with the software) won't show us the stains on the device's display you will have to take a photo of the display and post it, so people can compare it, your best bet is to put that tablet on warranty service :|
The same thing happened to my tab yesterday. I left the tab off during the night and when I fired it up this morning it was OK for about 5 minutes. After that the banding/colour depth display problem returned. It sure looks like a hardware problem. Not so good for me since i bought my tab in the US and the without the global waranty (I live in Europe).
SOLVED:
I removed the tab from its Belkin case and placed the tab in the fridge for 30 minutes. After that it looks as if the tab is OK again.
That's weird - I saw your post and wondered if it was overheating, so tried the fridge thing myself. Unfortunately, it didn't work for me, so looks like it's stuffed! Oh well - hope yours stays working - a bit tricky to have to sit in the fridge to use it!!!
Cheers,

"touch sensitivity - often times it presses on its own, having a hard time typing " this is quite common on chinese phones/replacement parts. They get unmagnetised and start working their self. You may need to replace it.
"battery drain.. tried to recalibrate it but it dont work." this too is common on chinese batteries.
"lock screen - often times goes to lockscreen whenever i press the home button" may be a software issue (related to buttons localisation) or hardware issue (faulty or damaged motherboard). I would ask for a refund but as it is a chinese phone I don't think they will do it. Just try. Best wishes, Lorenzo
Is it possible that the battery issue can be resolved if I buy a new one?

The only problem I am having with this phone at present is the drain on the battery, which from what i have read can be improved by getting a genuine battery, which I will probably get in the next week or so.
No problems with the touch sensitivity, have you tried altering the settings with mobileuncle, as I said I haven't had a problem myself but i am sure have seen a reference to sensitivty on one of the menus.
Never had the Lock screen problem either.
I will trt and use mobile uncle, mind telling me which of the options there I should tweak?

I am sorry, I have only used it to change the volume settings louder as I haven't had any touch problems.
I am sure I have seen one of the menus for touchscreen. Take a look but note down your existing settings first before you change them so you can always revert back.

I have a rooted, unlocked bootloader HTC one x+ evitareul.. My problems are using the front facing camera as if the phone didn't have one, when I'm in apps it doesn't show any way to switch cameras. My second problem is with multi touch, when I'm holding 2 fingers on screen and I let one go, the phone acts as if I had lifted both fingers off the screen and doesn't receive any input.
My kernel is: "3.1.10-PIZZA+
[email protected] #1
Thu nov 28 16:30:38 GMT 2013"
My CyanogenMod version is: "10.2-20131128-UNOFFICIAL-evitareul"
Really REALLY? you are after support for a ROM+Kernel which wasn't completed nor was support given for it, it was for people to test back then...
I just received this update and installed it immediately, April 1, 2017 security patch, I honestly don't know what's changed in this update.

This "Maintenance release note" has been published 28/10/2016.
Battery issue after update
Started facing battery issue after AW 2 update. I have read may of you are facing the same issue. Have been writing to motorola on twitter handle but they will respont that they will investigate the matter and reply. No reply so far. I think individually we wont be able to douch about the issue. Can every person on this forum who has been facing the same issue send me your email ids so we can put more pressure on these guys and get some positive response.
Here in India they have stopped providing any kind of service ( paid or free) for the watches that are out of warranty. The product we bought for 24000 INR is just waste and cant do anything about it.
Pl send me your email ids on [email protected] and will see hat best i can do to get it resolved.
Thanks
