Hi,
I've just flashed the I9300XXBLFB firmware and when I go into #272 IMEI it only shows up ORA as a CSC? Shouldn't there be a few?
Before flashing the phone was on an Orange firmware.
Any help?
A rom may but does not have to include multiple CSC.
Without Googling for ORA, but if you flashed your destined Rom, could Ora possibly stand for Orange? I know the names usually tell nothing but that's a big coincidence

Hi just got my first android and am straight off iphone. I bought an imported French S3 and would like to restore it to Australian Telstra (carrier) default.
I found this samsung-updates(.)com/device/?id=GT-I9300T but i don't know the authenticity of it or how on earth to restore it so PLEASE HELP. Also, once restored to aussie default i won't know the difference will I? I reallllly am lost with all this french crap
Cheers and sorry if i posted something already answered, last time on this site was with my old account and a htc polaris windows mobile 5
Also note that the image inside the zip is labelled I9300TDUALF2_I9300TTELALF2_I9300TDULF2_HOME.tar.md5 does that sound about right?
You cant flash i9300T firmware on the international i9300.
I have tried to flash the stock Telstra ROM and it will constantly FC with heaps of errors. Although you can flash the Telstra modem and CSC.
Your best bet is to flash the BLFB stock ROM for the very latest S3 ROM.
Another alternative is to flash the stock XSA ROM (which is unbranded for Australia) but it is NOT as up to date as BLFB

Don't know what FC means nor what the BLFB is but i flashed it to telstra and it worked. Had some french crap still on it but after restoring to factory default it now works 100%
FC means force close and BLFB is the latest UK firmware.
I tried to flash Telstra's ROM on my i9300 and it wouldnt boot correctly.
Weird that you have it working because everyone says its unflashable to a stock i9300.
Since you still have french language, im guessing you have not flashed the CSC file.

Sorry, i worded that poorly. The french language was off, everything was except some french radio stations on the home screen. After a factory restore it all went back to how a telstra S3 would be out of the box. Strangely i do things that i shouldn't be able to like register the phone with samsung AU :S I did have an issue though, i had to corrupt the firmware the first time then re-install the stock telstra before it finished the install (initally froze so i corrupted it)

Mate. Just flash the newest firmware. Don't bother with outdated carrier branded firmwares.
Hello. This forum si amazing help me a lot reading and solving my problems bu...
Story short flash 4.1.1 firmware from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646610 but because i`m living in UK i cant choose UK CSC code it`s just not there ( i try with *#272* ImeI# but is giving me error so i try with CSC changer from Play Store) so i decide to go back to 4.0.4 and then my problem starts.I try with Odin and 4.0.4 firmware the result was it`s freezes on samsung logo.
Then i used Kies to recover my firmware,Kies complete successfully but again freezes on Samsung Logo.I then try with Vodafone firmware (pay and go handset) same result. The only time when the phone boot properly is when i`m using 4.1.1 .If someone can help me how to go back to OTA 4.0.4 and bypass Samsung Logo.Thank You and my apologies for my bad english.Thank you again
After flashing to ICS, you need to boot into recovery and factory reset.

Thanks i did it and after i clean the cashe the phone boot up.Too bad there is no CSC for UK yet i really like 4.1.1 speed is amazing and there is no lag at all.
No need to change the csc. The csc is the one for that firmware, all you need to do is select your language during setup. Firmwares with different cscs are beginning to be rolled out as we speak.
I'm running polish stock rooted until UK 4.1.1 becomes available

the only real problem could potentially be fast dormancy support, from what I am aware, but I'm on it in UK and no problems here, so good to go really, I just left the csc as it is

Yes thats how it should be, but mine says unknown
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
Mine also says unknown after flashing the UK firmware. I've tried flashing the CSC file, but it still shows as being unknown.
I'm also unable to access the CSC selector, after entering *#272*IMEI# I get a message -
"Connection problem or invalid MMI code"
Try sgs1/2 csc changer from play store
I've flashed stock UK unbranded mine csc is fine try flash again

i've tried 2 different CSC changers, CSC Select and SGS CSC, both dont work. Its not a major issue for me, as long as it isnt causinga problem with something i dont know about. My phone originally had the Hong Kong CSC (i bought it online), so whetehr this is causing the problem, i dont know
Get it from here mate.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=30028854
There's a BTU CSC there.

Hello,
I'm asking this here because it looks like you guys might be able to help me understand how CSC work.
I'm trying to understand why I'm not getting the UK Jellybean update, bought my Galaxy s3 phone from Amazon it said UK unlocked.
Here's what my phone "About device" says
Model: GT-9300
Version:4.0.4
Baseband version:i9300XXLF2
Build number:IMM76D.I9300XXALF2
When I run *#1234#
it gives
AP: I9300XXALF2
CP:I9300XXLF2
CSC:I9300OJVALF2
Now from what I've read and looking here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646610
this would indicate a stock official firmware apart from the CSC
As I understand it the above CSC mean my phone is OJV, while to get the UK update I have to have CSC BTU.
I've tried the CSC selector software but BTU doesn't appear and the phone appears to be set on MWD (this is also what KIES shows)
Can anyone help me untangle and understand this.
Thanks.

Hi. Your phone has African firmware with a multi CSC. There is no Official release yet for Africa. Thats why you are not getting updates. You have 2 options.......1: To wait for the official update for your firmware 2: to download XXDLJ4 and flash it with odin. You will have exactly same result whichever option you choose.
Cheers
CSC problem
Hello.
I have a problem with changing the CSC of my phone. My phone is a branded i9300 with the stock CSC: ORO. I've flashed I9300XXDLJ4 and my CSC became unknown. Then i tried to flash only the BTU CSC but with the same result: CSC unknown. Also i downloaded the CSC select app but it gives me this error : "process com.android.phone has stopped". also i've wiped data and cache before and after flashing the rom. Do you guys have a solution for my problem or if a have a branded phone i cannot change my CSC?
When I enter in recovery mode it always says something like "Manual MODE. Applied Multi CSC. Applied CSC ORO".
Thanks

It happens when the cache.img (it has the CSC files) is not flashed properly when you are using Odin.... if the flashing process gets interrupted due to a reboot ..you will have to flash the firmware again after a full wipe..

Yes, thank you, I've now realised this. I bought the phone on Amazon where it was described as UK unlocked. Obviously this wasn't entirely accurate..
I'm new to this so I'm going to wait a little longer in case the official update is released shortly while I do some more reading.
If I wanted to go the second root, just out of interest, how did you know to suggest XXDLJ4 as the ROM I need to flash, there seem to be so many out there. Sorry if this is a total noob question.
Thanks.
Simple method is to use CHECKFUS to download any current firmware and flash via ODIN .

I'm in the uk and have just purchased a new s3,(GT-I9300) but have discovered it has a french firmware on it (I9300XEFELL1). I sent the first phone back because of this, but the second also has french fw too. I have seen a UK fw on sam mobile (I9300OXAEMC2) and am OK using Odin, but am unsure about flashing a different csc to this phone, with regard to warranty and incompatibility issues.
Any advise gratefully received
If you flash with Odin your warranty is invalid mate... unless you use triangle away after to reset your flash counter, theres plenty of guides around for that
there shouldn't be any incompatibility so I wouldn't worry about that.

I'm not sure if you can change csc with kies....if you can then after, it should update to that latest btu Rom
Thanks for your help guys, I have tried a tmobile sim and a giff gaff sim with no problems so I think its unlocked, I'm not bothered about rooting or custom roms but I would like a stock uk unbranded rom and csc. Is it a good idea to flash to an earlier rom first so I can change the country csc code to match the rom easily, and then flash the latest btu rom?

Hi All,
I am reluctantly posting here (in fear of replies of"You should look in the threads/google/etc).
However, I have done the above and still cannot find an answer.(
The question is: S3, previosuly on BTU 4.1.2 firmware, and prior to that stock O2.
Now on MJ9 4.3.
I am struggling to change the CSC to BTU, as no matter what I do or try (CSC Changer/CWM Zips etc), it always reverts back to KOR .
Has anyone else come across this?
I am happy to do a "warp" firmware jump (4.1- lose network and then go through to 4.1.2 then 4.3), but having tried this from O2 4.1.2 to MG4 4.1.2, it still remains the same when I flash 4.3 BTU using Odin.
Am I missing something so completely obvious? (The *#272imei thing always gives the message "Running USSD" blah, and then nothing).
Many thanks for your sympathetic replies
Matt
