Hi all,
I know many people have been experiencing issues when other people cant hear voice.
I have been having this issue for some time, I have tried to disable/enable the noise reduction settings and that has had no effect.
Does anyone know if there is a fix for this?
I called samsung who asked me to do a test using:
*#0283#
which is a voice loop test. It worked perfectly fine.
The Customer Service rep told me I have to send them phone in, I would normally do that but I cannot use my Sim card in another phone because its a micro sim. I dont have another phone anyway so buying a micro sim adapter wont help.
I need my phone for work etc...
Thanks in advance

Good morning.
After booting my phone, entering my PIN and pressing OK it reboots. Not every time, sometimes it goes on working as expected. And before the reboot it freezes for a few seconds either when the input-PIN-dialog has just disappeared or whilst it's diappearing.
So that getting the Mini to an usable state can take from one to several tries.
Changing or taking out the SD card changes nothing, but doing this with the UICC (let's say SIM) does.
The problem is present when SIM0 is plugged (my main connection/line/number). It's an 8 pin card I got from my provider two years ago for use with my W980i.
Without a SIM or with SIM1 plugged the phone acts like it should. While SIM1 is a brand new 6 pin card I got cause of a strange take-more-connections-get-more-boni deal. And with both with-SIM-settings I repeated it dozens of times.
Restoring with SEUS doesn't help. And the phone isn't rooted (yet).
So my questions are:
Isn't SIM0 working fine anymore? Is their a chance that my Mini has a defect?
Is there a UICC-integrity-test without the need for special hardware? Could it be that the different SIM format is causing this behaviour?
Later on I'll also call my provider, but preparation is everything, isn't it. And who knows if it's done after that call. But first I'll hug my pillow for a while (7:38 AM yet ).
So your suggestions, ideas or even more knowledge are/is welcome.
Thanks in advance.
I have the same problem (nearly every reboot). But I haven't tried different SIM cards.
I'll try with different ones and if that makes a difference like does in your case.
I'm using o2 Germany Multicard (2 cards (or more), 1 phone number).
It's o2 Germany in my case too. What formats are your cards (8 or 6 pin) of. Although i don't know if that could make any difference.
The call center guy (Guy) i've just talked to didn't have any idea. He offered me to send a new SIM, but I'll head for an o2 shop this evening. I can get one there immediately. And maybe there is an oppurtunity to test some other cards. At least I hope there is.
Also Guy didn't know about any card test facilities. Perhaps I can reach a cell phone repair shop in time after that. I'd like to know what they can do/say.
Oh, I forgot to say, that my W980i still works fine with SIM0. Although it reboots sometimes while playing music ever since. I don't know if there's commonality. I ever thought of a hardware failure in memory.
I'll report.
Now I count three phones - W980i, W800i and some cheap Panasonic or so - that work proper with that suspicious 8 pin card (SIM0)
and four 6 pin cards my X10 Mini works with.
There wasn't any shop staff being able to help me getting closer to the source of that failure. I couldn't get to the cell phone repair shop in time.
Unfortunately I have no more X10 Minis or other two years old 8 pin cards (UICCs) from o2 Germany to do further testing.
same prob here ....
little workarround: when rebooting the phone press the powerbutton and switch to flightmode. unlock the phone. then disable flightmode and enter pin.
Nice to know, though my actual workaround is a new SIM replacing SIM0.
But still left is that annoying ambiguity whether I bought a proper device or not. And I dislike the idea of returning it without a reasonable suspicion.
@inteks
I could not really understand your procedure.
I have similar problem, but my phone does not boot. It vibrates and then nothing. Even if I switch off in airplane mode it will not switch on.
What are the exact steps you are using?
Thanks
Hi, I have an htc titan and I live in Italy; I bought it from expansys because here in not on sale yet..My problem is this: when I plug the headphones ( any brand from htc to something else) I'm not able to receive or make phonecalls but I can receive and send sms and the very strange thing is that this happens only with my operator ( TIM) but not with my wife's (Vodaphone). I went to a TIM shop and I've tried new simcards but nothing has changed...Htc cstumor service told me to try to uninstall all the apps I've installed to see if someone of them is causing the problem...what do you think? I am the only one on earth to have this kind of problem...???
Thank you!
Can anybody hell me??

I can't Hell you but i guess i can help you LOL j.k
Well, there is a few thing you need to check.
1. Set all region to Italy
2. Make sure TIM has the required Freq for Titan, EU Titan would be fine, not sure about AT&T one
3. Use Connection Setup to get the phone automatically set up.
4. yes, like ktdan1 said, check the speaker.
5. Describe more about the error. You should do a little video.
First of all thank you for your hell!!

1.The phone is already setted on Italy and usually ( i mean without the headphones plugged in ) is working fine..
2. I don't know how can I check the right Tim Freq for Titan and believe me the Tim customer service I don't think is able to know that..
3. I used the automatically set up
4. When the headphones are plugged in the speaker of the phone is not working...I mean the sound comes out of the headphone..
The point is that when I plug the headphones is like I lose the connection but not totally infact the bar is full of signal, i can receive and send sms but when I dial a number the phone call doesn't start and nobody is able to call me...
Another strange thing is that If I dial a number without the headphones I can make a call and then I can plug the headphones without any problems..is like the headphones are blocking just the start of the call...
As you know the headphones is also the antenna for the radio and even if I'm not a technician maybe that's could be the reason...
As I told you with my wife's simcard from vodaphone this problem doesn't happen..And I tried other simcards alway from Tim and some problem!
Please ask me anything you need to know to try to solve the problem..I'm sorry for the video..when I have a little more time I'll try to do it ( I have a 3 months old son and believe me having time for a cellular now is like looking for water in the desert..but I need to solve the problem beacuse I work with my smartphone..)
Ciao!

I see your problem now. Because the same thing happened to me. Can't confirmed yet but i was able to call somebody yesterday with the Headphone on, but the sound come out very crappy with a lot of "bzzzzzz" sound, also the sound of weak signal or something like that. But believe me, we are on the same boat. I used to see my Titan refuse to make a call, like when i dial a number, it just automatically end that call, and everyone who try to call me will receive "tut tut tut tut" rapidly.
I will try to investigate this thing out.
I thought you wasn't able to hear anything from the phone
Ohh is good to know that I'm not alone in this world!!!
Yes I have the same tu tut tu...
As I wrote I can send and receive sms with headphones in, can you?
The italian htc customer service really don't know anything about it! they always confuse the tytn with the titan!! after specyfing what telephone I have they told me to unistall all the apps that I have...but I dind't do it 'cause I'm quite sure this is not the problem...
Anyway, how can it's possibile that we're the only two unlucky guys with this problem?

Just wait for it. Probably because Titan is not well known at Italy and it isn't released yet?
I think this is a Hardware Issue somehow, because the headphone that HTC gives us is the same as the one i used on the HD7 and it perform without anyproblem on HD7.
I will contact one of the old HTC American Tech Support who used to help me and i will ask him about it.
I also have a strange carrier related problem.. I used to have Norwegian Chess and no problem at all, but now I've changed to Telenor and got a new simcard.. Now, when I call people that have other carriers than Telenor, like my friend got Tele2, I get the calling tone thru the back speaker.. It's really loud and it's getting on my nerves.. Seems like the Titan really hates simcards?
Still nothing?

I am asking HTC right now, wait for my old technican guy.
Hey, I'm writing just to tell you that today I got the new update (Firmware Version: 20104 - Radio Software: 03.17 - Boot Loader-version: 2.1) but nothing has changed...
Bye!
Hi, finally I got a solution...I bought a bluetooth headphones...
I complained to Sony that I can't hear other people well during a call, and the other party can't hear me well. They said to take out the SIM card and try it in another phone to verify if the problem is with the phone or the service provider. My old phone is SIM card locked so I can't do this. Any suggestions? Perhaps I should by a Bluetooth and test it that way, would that make sense? For example could it be that call volume is fine with the bluetooth but it still is actually a problem with the phone not the service provider.
If it's a problem with the Sim, I believe it would also be a problem via Bluetooth. Only way to know for sure is to try it on another z2. Having said that, I doubt it's the Sim card (carrier) because a different phone will have different call quality.
Anyone get their call forwarding to work? If so what did you do.
I keep getting this same error: Failed to forward incoming call from your mobile device to your Gear. Tap OK to try again.
I got that too from time to time. But that is because my phone has a poor reception at home. Gear S need to ask your phone to setup the forwarding via special dialer code. If your phone can't get signal for dialing code, it will fail even though it may be connected to Internet via wifi.

Yea I think I'm screwed. At least I know it is possible on AT&T tho.
FIXED IT!
I was able to get this issue fixed. This was bugging me for a month. Here are the steps I took to resolve this issue.
Uninstalled Gear Manager from the Note 4.
When I reinstalled Gear Manager it forced me to do a factory reset on the Gear S. This did not fix the issue however.
Did a factory reset on both the phone and the Gear S. This also did not fix the issue.
Got a new sim card for the Gear S. This did not fix the issue.
Got a new nano sim card for the Note 4. The Note 4 takes a micro sim but I had an adapter I bought off Amazon that takes a nano sim and makes it fit into micro slots. This also did not fix the issue.
Upgraded to Lollipop. This did not fix the issue.
Finally I found this thread.
https://forums.att.com/t5/Samsung-D...y-Phone-Settings/td-p/4170378/highlight/false
Someone said it was the settings on my account. I called AT&T on my Gear S number and pressed some buttons till I got their Technical Support team. I somehow got transferred to their Advanced Technical Support team right away. I talked to a guy named Robert. He was super helpful and listened as I told him what my issue was. I didn't even mention the Gear S call forwarding problem as that confuses a lot of reps. I just told him that I couldn't access the call forwarding setting in my Android Note 4 because I was getting a sim card or network error. Which I was. I told him to check deep in my account setting as I researched this online and it appears to be an account settings issue. He worked on his end and told me to turn my phone off. Then he told me to turn it back on. I did and went into the settings and did not get the error message. I was soooo happy. I thanked Robert and told him I was just going to mess with the settings a bit more and I didn't want to keep him. He said thank you for being a valued customer and we hung up.
My real reason for going thru this was to get the call forwarding set up between my Gear S and my Note 4. I made a sign of the cross and kissed the feet of my Roman statue before trying to initiate the call forwarding through a remote connection between my Gear S and Note 4. This time it worked.
So in my opinion it appears to be an account settings issue because it works for me now.
The Problem Came Back Again
Ok so the problem came back again. AT&T said that it is a known issue where you can't set up your device for call forwarding. To fix it, all you have to do is call AT&T and they reregister your device to the network. Then, you turn your phone off and on again and everything works.

All i did was downgrade back to kitkat then tried call forwarding and it worked perfect then let the note 4 re update to lollipop and call forwarding still works and has ever since no more sim or network error this was the only way i found to fix it cause AT&T couldn't tell me why it wouldn't work.
You know I think you're right. Because in my case I took my Note 4 to the Samsung Experience in Best Buy and they flashed lollipop thinking that would fix it but it didn't. I had to call AT&T support each time it didn't work. Then the OTA update of lollipop came thru to my phone and I let it install. So basically I reinstalled lollipop even tho I already had. There must have been some AT&T updates in there because ever since the OTA it has been working flawlessly.
I still get the network or sim card error from time to time. Call forwarding works after a reboot of both the phone and the watch. It's dumb that I have to do that tho.

This is for at&t/takes a few minutes to get to the point but maybe it will help. This guy also does a pretty comical review of a durability test too. I heard at&t auto call forwarding is finicky.
How To Setup Call Forwarding for the Samsung Gear…: http://youtu.be/-pAeLZxOuqk
Yea that guy is awesome. I've seen his videos before.
Samsung locked the forwarding option off the note 4 at least for Att. Once you call them and have them set it up server side everything works perfect

Yea mine has been working recently so I'm good. My problem appeared to be AT&T. I went to the AT&T store and they told me to contact Samsung. I went to Samsung and they told me to contact AT&T. Made me wish I had an iPhone at that point.
Forwarding is an account feature. Samsung can't lock it. It is AT&T that locked it. It depends where your original AT&T account came from and how it was setup. They used to charge customers for this feature. That's why not everyone has it turned on.
Hope my experience will help someone. I followed all the tutorials I could find and could not get it to work. I finally gave in and called AT&T support. I didn't get the brightest person but this woman would not give up. On a last ditch effort it ended up being 2 things. I am behind a Microcell and forgot to enter the Gears S number. Second was she noticed that the profile for my line still had a Blackberry Passport on it from when I was messing around with one. She entered the IMEI for the Samsung device I am using and had me reboot. Wham, the Gear went into Call Forwarding mode. Tested all day today and just left my device at home. It worked like a charm.
I Still Love AT&T Tho
You got lucky. Whenever I call AT&T and mention the Gear S, they're like "uh" and don't even know what the device is. Same with the store. I went in there and they were like "man the Samsung guy was just here." I went to Samsung and they told me it was AT&T's fault and to contact them. I felt like Samsung was blowing me off but it really was AT&T's fault. If you ever have a problem with your call forwarding, don't even mention the Gear S when talking to AT&T. Just tell them you can't get your Samsung phone to set up call forwarding. Tell them every time you go into the call settings, then more settings you get a network and sim card error. When they fix this, they also fix your Gear S forwarding error without even knowing it.
I have been experiencing a peculiar problem with my Galaxy S6 edge quite frequently.
Many times I try to call a person, the phone does not connect.
I have to then restart the phone and then it works.
Also, every once in a while, when I am talking to someone, the person on the other end suddenly is unable to hear me while I can hear him.
Could anyone advice me how to fix this ? Is this a SIM card issue ?
I cut the normal sim card to a micro-sim ?
