I had lte onoff for my thunderbolt but it doesn't seem to work on my S3. What are you using? I don't need 4g all the time

You will have no answer here because you are in the international SGS3 forum and this version does not have 4G
So: go and post here

We are not sure yet. Just wait until we find out. Many say yes, many say not at all. Time will only tell.

Thanxs for the info!!! only wait until Sprint release the new service!!
I have the sprint S 3 but there's no 4gLTE in my area, would I be able to get the international version and use that on the sprint network? Cause lte is the reason you can't use the quad core right?

Yup np. Well its I guess like spamming and if the mods saw it, there would've been a fiasco here!

Any info bout the lte?

The international version doesn't have CDMA radios.
Lte will be rolling through the country later on. Get the quad if you don't want to wait til that happens

No no no, it won't work. Sprint uses CDMA radios, the international has GSM radios. You misunderstood.
Sprint is cdma but LTE is GSM technology. Just to complicate things.....

But the international has no LTE. So it will absolutely not work on Sprint.

I so agree with you!!! I want to go to ATT or TMobile because they're GSM Networks but Sprint is giving me a crazy deal that I could never drop.

In much of the US CDMA coverage is superior to GSM coverage. I almost never do not have at least CDMA for voice. When I was with ATT on a GSM phone that was definitely not the case.
Well maybe TMobile is better. I find with Sprint. I only get service in about 60% of the places I go

Lol
4G is not possible in the S3 unless you buy the LTE version.
Make sure you have a plan for 3G and in settings, the network mode is auto.
Also a place where you can get 3G connections.

I am planning on getting GoSmart Mobile but I want to know if I can manually provision my phone to access they're internet. I am currently using MetroPCS for example, but you can provison the phone to take advantage of Picture Mail and 3G which runs off of CDMA so can you do the same type of thing with GSM with companies like T-Mobile or GoSmart?
Lol no.

2 questions...
1st, I live in a non 4G area. Is it possible to get on a different carrier's 4G? Or just switch to 3g when roaming?
2nd, a friend has a straight talk phone. Is that possible to switch to my sprint plan? I have a phone on standby and I'm trying to use it up.
Thanks XDA

I don't think you can roam on another carrier's network since they use different LTE spectrum bands like 800,1900,700 etc. Sprint uses 1900 MHz LTE

To answer the second question, no, Sprint will only activate phones in their database which are Sprint branded phones.
