Help me??? About stock rom - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I bought my sIII from panama...just few days back....i searched google...xda....sammobile ...everywhere....but i couldnt find the name or any details about my rom...its a stock rom....i am attaching screenshot also....also i have "developer options" in my sIII does it mean its a developer edition????? Or is it in all i9300 handsets????
Also i owned samsung galaxy ace before this..mit had samsung social hub but i cant find it in my contacts on SIII ...it sync my facebook contacts and gallery but it onky shows recent updated status of people from facebook.....galaxy ace used to show like a history of facebook messages with that person and also the normal sms........and it also showed that person albums from facebook....and all the status updates....but SIII only shows recent status update....maybe if they updated their status in last 24 hours......is that on all sIII or just mine????

Looks like you have the lastest rom (android 4.0.4) with LF2 firmware.
The "developper options" means you can uses some kind of "advanced" options if you want as see in real time CPU usage or tracking you touchscreen etc ... Nothing strange here.
For you Sam Hub problem, did you check the app settings and look if they were the same as on your Galaxy Ace ?
And please, do an effort to, at least, format your text properly. I got a headache by now

thanks for the help ....and....
are you talking about my English or about the font which i used???
if its my English then i thinks its good enough to convey my message.
and if its the font then i posted this using xda app and everything looked fine on the app.
and i asked whether all galaxy sIII has this "developer" option or not?
and about Samsung social hub. ya i did check everything, i even search market and Samsung market for the social hub. it doesn't even show in the app drawer. on my ace it used to show in my app draw and contacts had a separate tab for all the social update but sIII doesn't have that. on my galaxy ace i was able to see all updates from Facebook and twitter in that person info. but on s3 it just shows the status update and that too only for some contacts. only thing which Facebook sync has done for me in my s3 is that it has sync the my Facebook pics with my gallery.

Jist baught my gt 10.1 no media hub, facebook etc?

I've been searching for a answer on why I have no media hub of facebook and can't find them in tje market or anything? Please help. Did the update when I tirned it on.

Facebook can be sideloaded, as it doesn't show up in the market for some reason. As far as Media Hub, it should have been loaded with Touchwiz

how do you sideload it? as far as I know there is no specific facebook app for honeycomb.
Try Friend Caster Tab or Friend Me. Both are tablet apps.
There are some decent facebook apps in the SlideMe market that work well with the tab.

I can get past the facebook. But as far as the media hub? I'm lost as to where that is....( scratching head)

Media Hub comes with the touchwiz update, however, i read that samsung pulled the update to "ensure its a positive experience" whatever that means. So if u dont have touchwiz now you will have to wait for Samsung to push it back out or get a touchwiz rom from here.
That's def the problem then. I did one update when I turned it on but it wasn't touchwiz. Ill just have to wait then. Thanx guys!

I got Whatsapp workin' on my WiFi Tab, I guess?!

Hi all,
Since I was (very) disappointed that Whatsapp couldn't be used on my Tab (10.1 WiFi), I couldn't stop thinking about how to get this thing working after all. This morning I had a brainwave, but didn't think too much about it, since I guessed I couldn't be the first one thinking about this?! But after searching the forum this afternoon, I actually couldn't find any post mentioning what I just did. But I must admit, my search-qualities may lack (as does my English)... So sorry if this is already well known / spoken of.
I couldn't get Whatsapp installed on my SGT the normal way(s), so what I now did was Titanium Backup Whatsapp on my Phone (where I was already using it), copy that Titanium Backup files into the Titanium Backup folder on my SGT and then restored that App+Data for Whatsapp on my SGT.
Now it did install on my SGT and when I sent a message to someone, it arrives immediately!
Only thing is the message history on my Tab+Phone isn't synced (of course) and if someone sends me a message it only arrives on my Tab. It arrives on my phone again as soon as I power down my Tab (or when I would kill the Whatsapp app that's running in the background on my Tab I guess).
Again, I'm sorry if someone mentioned this before. I hope this information can be of use for some of us!
Excellent suggestion!
Thanks
Lol dude,
Hehe it seems i was mistaken. Apologies and tell your girlfriend that yous arse a smart dude
Now tell me how this will work for my ipad ^_^

Try TexTab...sends and receives over Bluetooth between your phone and tab. Works really well

When i try to restore from my back up files, do i first have to install whatsapp on my tab and then restore? Sorry i may sound dumb
OK Figured out thanks and it works ,
Well, something isn't clear...as I know whatsapp can only work on one device (with the same number), I tried to install it on my tab, but when I start it, it kills whatsapp on my iPhone.
Also I have another problem, installed whatsapp on my tab, and registered it with another number, but I don't have any contact imported...contacts are synchronized with gmail account...anyone knows a solution for this?
hey joris, did this backup/restore thing a week ago on my tab. whatsapp works on my tab too, but i first get messages on my phone none on the tab. i admit that i have never sent a msg from my tab as for now.
but its working - main objective reached
When WA is running in the background of your phone, the messages won't get to your Tab. That's right. If you kill WA on your phone and then start WA on your Tab, the message will come through.
It's a shame messages won't sync between the two devices though...

The reason it works on android tablet is same back up is restored from android phone to android tablet, so WA assumes its the same device, its a different situation with iphone because you can not do as did with android phone and tab combination
i think the solution so "synchronize" the messages is to use another phone number to register the tabs whatsapp backup (backup from a phone with a different number and restore on the tab) and keep all conversations in a group chat.
For example, if i use whatsapp to talk to my girlfriend, i will start a whatass group chat, add my girlfirend and my galaxy tab whatass number, so "the 3 of us" can communicate. Its like having a threesome i guess.
I got it working through another method..
But just nativly installing whatsapp, after using a certain modem.bin
It also enabled text messaging on the tab..
Btw..
Everyone should try JaxtrSMS, this sends messages through internet which the receiver will receive as a normal text message
I got the modem file from the forum here but I don't know where exactly..
Ill attach it here for now, flash through ODIN..
First unpack it with winrar or anything..
i have been using this with my Galaxy tab 3G GT-p7500
I'm using a custom 3.2 rom with Riego kernel
texting & whatsapp work bot, as does JaxtrSMS
If this helped you please use the Thanks button

Whatsapp on Galaxy Tab 10.1
I am really new to this, I have just recently purchase a Galaxy Tab 10.1 wifi only (model : GT-P7510) using build Android version 3.1
I have downloaded the .apk file and try to install it on my Galaxy Tab, I am able to successfuly install the file but I am not able to run the application, getting error "We can't identify your device. Please turn off the phone, take out the battery, restart it and try it again. (Note: tablets are currently not supported).
I can see the previous posting suggested using Titanium BackUp for Whatsapp and transfering to the phone, (if i am not mistaken, that will means rooting the phone, is there any option that doesn't require rooting the phone?)
Please advise, what can I do to use Whatsapp on my Galaxy Tab 10.1
Many Thanks in advance.

I dont use the App but I read your method and I must say it is pretty creative solution. It probably would work for most apps that arent compatible with the tab and your phone (and perhaps vice versa)

[Q] [Leaked ICS] Where did my contacts tab go

So I installed the February leaked ICS for S2 and while everything works mostly ok I am missing the contacts tab on my dialer. The Contacts/Groups/etc tabs are on the "Contacts" up but unless I was high in the last few months I remember a 'Contacts' tab being on the dialer too... It's only annoying of course, but maybe I am doing something wrong here. I already tried scrolling the tab area to see if it was hidden somewhere, no game. Also did a wipe on CWM to check if it was the problem and still no contacts tab.

This is not a fix for your problem but an alternative....Just go to the market and try the "Go Contacts" install and put a shortcut to your home....
Google has separated phone and contact app in ICS it used to be one app.
Hence your problem.
There should be another app called Contacts. like an orange rectangle with a silhouette of a man.
You can get into contacts from the phone app by pressing menu and selecting contacts. Google removed the contacts button from the dialer.
Really? That's strange (not to say stupid). Go Dialer is ok I think. Any other Dialer suggestions? I would like one that let me edit the number format (I use the phone in US english and it formats the numbers as xxx xxx xxxx but all my phones are xx xxxx xxxx)
Not sure if this is exactly what you're looking for but I've heard a lot of good stuff about "Dialer One" on the market. It's free and has decent reviews as well. Good luck!
Contacts tab missing from ICS Dialer

After updating to ICS on my Droid Bionic, I've been looking for a solution to the odd disappearance of the Contacts tab that I was so used to in Gingerbread. I suppose I could just train myself to open Contacts first instead of dialer when I want to call someone. If I can't seem to remember to do that, I can always open Dialer then tap the menu softkey and select "Search" at the top of the list -- it will take you right to Contacts. This seems to be much easier than installing other contact apps and / or rooting.
Good day.

uploading photos to facebook

hi again everyone this time i have a problem which is driving me insane. i cannot upload/post photos to facebook in any way shape or form.
when i try to post a photo to facebook i choose it and hit post and then i get a message telling me it will be uploaded. then there's a progress bar on the cell itself. the progress bar goes along just fine but then when it gets to 100% i get a message saying "facebook upload-cannot upload 1 of 2" then the progress bars appears again and again reaches 100% i get the same error message. bare in mind that i only tried to post 1 photo which is odd. is there any way to fix it?
p.s
a while back this phenomenon happened occasionally but most uploads went just fine, now it happens 100% of the time

the official Facebook app sucks.
There are two solutions:
1. Try another Facebook app e.g friends caster, and your problem will be gone forever.
2. Goto Settings - apps - Facebook - clear data. This is a temporary solution, and the issue will still reappear.
Problem solved

The thing is, the official Facebook app most times makes your think your connection is really bad, until you open your browser, and everything just loads within seconds.

since you,me and most of humanity think the facebook app is ****ty i have already turned to alternatives.
i have tried using friend caster pro for two days and was greatly disappointed when i realized you can't do some things that are a bit more facebookly sophisticated such as uploading a status with a picture or posting a picture alongside a status just post either a status or a photo.
and for as much as i remember it didn't; manage to upload my photos there too.
isn't there any good reliable alternative that matches the facebook app?

The problem is Facebook reduced the capabilities of third party apps.
Iloader uploads picture fine.
Personally, I'm not a Facebook person, so I just use m.Facebook.com on my phone which displays like the app page and loads way faster too.
Try to clear the data of the Facebook app, it should work after then
