Well I tried both of the suggested ones, but when I click on to switch 2g/3G it does not switch but it brings me to the MObile Networks menu.. I do not have an option to "use 2G only". I can go in and specify a Network Mode
1) GSM/WCDMA (automatic)
2) GSM only
3) WCDMA only
Nowhere does it say 2G. So none of the one lick switch widgets that tried work..

Click to collapse
Option 2 "GSM only" is the same thing as 2G only. Option 3 "WCDMA only" forces the phone to only use 3G networks for data.

android software
Due to the android set up, no widget that i know of will do it in just one click, and since the release of the Ji6 update. they took away the 2g only button and replaced it with the wcdma/gsm toggle instead. hope that helps to sort out the problem.

Oh, really? OK, that makes sense, cuz I updated to JI6 few days ago. thanks for the clarification. Will the feature be available in Froyo?

[Q] CM7 4G?

I have tried going into the testing menu and switching radios, but:
1. I don't know which radio to choose, because there's no CDMA+LTE/EvDO option
2. When I do choose another option (other than CDMA PRL(Auto)), it doesn't switch to it.
So, the question is: How do I switch between 3G and 4G LTE on my Thunderbolt with CM7?

Click to collapse
Settings->Wireless&Networks->Mobile networks->network mode
Or you can just add slayher's 3g/4g toggle to the power widget or the notification widget in the drop down.
Thanks a bunch! Perfect

[Q] Home shortcut to tethering options

I had a skyrocket for about a week before "upgrading" to the S II I'm using now. On the SR, there was a way to create an icon/shortcut on the TW "home" screen that went directly to the tethering (portable hotspot) options within settings. This made turning on (and off) the portable wifi hotspot much easier/quicker.
Is there a way to do this on the S II? If so, how/where?
Thanks
Gary
I do not see a way to have that with stock hotspot. Imagine that would come in handy.
Though Lidroid rom has a shortcut for wifi hotspot in with the toggles.

Fast Band-Switch

Hey guys,
is there a possibility to switch fast bands (LTE, 3G,...) ?
I found some confusing key-combinations and some (unuseful) apps but these apps are only shortcuts for the network menu.
I'm looking for a little widget thats placed on the home screen. Just 3 buttons to switch to 2G, 3G or 4G because my singal strength at home is with 2G best and if i'm outside i'd like to have good internet connection so i want fast and easy switch to 4G.
Any suggestions?
Thanks a lot
kind regards psy
