hi friends, i would like to remove all possible bloatware apps from my ST15i ics stock rom (4.1.B.0.431) but i'm not sure which apps are required to run my phone without fcs' and which to be considered as bloatware so i created this thread and posting all the system app names below. people, please guide me making my stock rom as light as possible without any compromise to its stability and if you would explain the use of each and every app it would be really useful to the readers. thanks
NOTE: this list includes each and every app from /system/app directory of ST15i to make a complete list of system apps.
WARNING: THESE ALL ARE NOT SAFE TO REMOVE APPS! THIS LIST INCLUDES EACH AND EVERY APP FROM THE /system/app DIRECTORY OF ST15i!

1. i'm not using my regional firmware. i flashed 4.1.B.0.431 (world) firmware using flashtool. so there is no need for these files?? or the system still needs them???
2. i've unlocked my bootloader (obvious) so DRM services won't be of no use to me or i need them to access my media files?
thanks for helping

[[More Info]] [[SEMCHOME.APK ---]] To remove HomeScreen without any problems I used 2 applications HomeSmack <-- can be found in app market This application doesn't run in background or anything once you change your default launcher to something else such as LauncherPro ( also found in market [ do not remove without having at least a home replacement ] ) change the default. Used SystemApp Remover ( works like a charm no CMD ) to delete semchome.apk went back on HomeSmack, The Homescreen has disappeared from the list and has been completely replaced with LauncherPro, I even upgraded to LauncherPro Plus to show my support I liked it that much. [[Remember]] Always Back-up When I remove these I used SystemApp Remover.apk Not my problem if you brick your phone your doing this under the understanding that anything could go wrong, I'm just giving you my own guide line. [[Updates]] Safe list only so far.
Apllications to use your rooted / unrooted phone nicely [[ROOT YOUR PHONE HERE Simple no CMD all through anroid market...]] CLICK HERE TO GO First off this is my favourite yes you could probably find this and warez it from google but this is such a beautiful application ide suggest buying it. [Q] Battery Drain: Wi-Fi activity when screen on
Hey, Coming from a SGS1, which lasted 3-4 days on a full battery charge running CM9, the SGS3 battery is really bad. As battery life is really important for me I do not use apps like WhatsApp, Facebook, GTalk etc. GTalk comes by default but obviously I disabled it. However, after disabling all messaging apps, sync and google device backup, I noticed that the Wi-Fi starts communicating when i turn on the screen. This does not seem to happen over 3G though. This issue appears on both Stock and WanamLite 1.2 rom. By sniffing the traffic with (Wire)Shark it appears to be SSL traffic to Google. What the hell could this be??? The issue does not appear with the nightly CM9 for SGS3, however I wanna give WanamLite (manually debloated) a chance. After some research it appears to happen even if google account is not added:-\ Contents of my /system/app AllshareDMC.apk AllshareMediaServer.apk AllshareService.apk ApplicationsProvider.apk BackupRestoreConfirmation.apk BadgeProvider.apk BGCleaner.apk BluetoothAvrcp.apk BluetoothMap.apk BluetoothTest.apk BroadcomMEMSService.apk Browser.apk Calendar.apk CalendarProvider.apk CapabilityManagerService.apk CertInstaller.apk ClipboardSaveService.apk ClockPackage.apk ContextAwareService.apk CSC.apk CWMManager.apk DefaultContainerService.apk DirectShareManager.apk Divx.apk DrmProvider.apk DttSupport.apk EdmSysScopeService.apk EdmVpnServices.apk Email.apk EnterprisePermissions.apk Exchange.apk FFFFFFFF000000000000000000000001.drbin FmRadio.apk FWUpgrade.apk GMS_Maps.apk GoogleBackupTransport.apk GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter.apk GoogleContactsSyncAdapter.apk GoogleFeedback.apk GoogleLoginService.apk GooglePartnerSetup.apk GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk GoogleSearchWidget.apk GoogleServicesFramework.apk Hearingdro.apk HelvNeueLT.apk INDI_Server.apk JobManager.apk KeyChain.apk Keystring_DFT.apk Keystring_factory.apk Keystring_misc.apk LatinIME.apk Lcdtest.apk LogsProvider.apk mcRegistry MediaUploader.apk minimode-res.apk Mms.apk MobilePrint.apk MtpApplication.apk MusicFX.apk MusicPlayer.apk NetworkLocation.apk Nfc.apk NfcTest.apk OmaCP.apk OmaDrmPopup.apk PackageInstaller.apk Personalization.apk PhoneErrService.apk Phonesky.apk PickUpTutorial.apk PolarisViewer.apk PopupuiReceiver.apk Preconfig.apk PreloadInstaller.apk PRUI.apk SamsungCamera.apk SecBluetooth.apk SecCalculator2.apk SecContacts.apk SecContactsProvider.apk SecDownloadProvider.apk SecDownloadProviderUi.apk SecFactoryPhoneTest.apk SecFileShareClient.apk SecFileShareServer.apk SecGallery2.apk SecHTMLViewer.apk SecLauncher2.apk SecLiveWallpapersPicker.apk SecMediaProvider.apk SecOmaDownloadProvider.apk SecPhone.apk SecSettings.apk SecSettingsProvider.apk SecSetupWizard.apk SecTelephonyProvider.apk SecurityProvider.apk SecWallpaperChooser.apk serviceModeApp.apk SetupWizard.apk ShareApp.apk SharedStorageBackup.apk SlideShow.apk SmartcardService.apk Street.apk Superuser.apk SysScope.apk SystemUI.apk Tag.apk Talk.apk TMServerApp.apk Vending.apk VideoPlayer.apk VpnDialogs.apk WAPPushManager.apk YouTube.apk Click to expand... I think I have found the cause: After dumping all packets on the router from/to the phone no network activity was visible. The only explanation is that the device is scanning for wireless networks. After going to the wireless settings I noticed that a network scan indeed shows the same pattern on the wlan indicator. So why would the device scan for networks when screen is turned on? Particularly when it is already connected (wifi keep alive is on). Also it seems as if it sometimes just keeps on scanning and therewith drains the battery. Turning wifi off/on sometimes helps, reboot always helps..... anyone experienced this? Sent from my GT-I9300 using XDA
ONCE ROOTED: which apps & processes are safe to remove
Once the ULTRA Z is rooted, which apps & processes are safe to remove from the phone, without causing problems? Sorry if this was asked, I searched but couldn't find it specifically for the Ultra. thank you in advance
These are apps from the Xperia Z (i don't have the Ultra yet, but i assume the ZU has a lot of similar apps). These are apps you CAN remove, but that doesn't mean that you HAVE to remove. If you aren't sure what they do, leave them alone or install SystemAppRemover. It'll mark apps and services with a green color if they are safe to remove. - Album- APP - Amber - system theme. - Amethyst - system theme - Android Live Wallpapers - Anonymous Usage Stats - AudioEffectService - Auto Upload(photo) - Black Hole - Bubbles - Calculator - APP - Calculator 2.0.A.0.16 - small apps calculator - Calendar - APP - Camera - APP - Camera common - Camera extension - Chrome - APP - Clock - APP - Clocks - clock widget - CrashMonitor - DlnaHandoverAdaptor - Download music info - Email - APP - Emerald - system theme - Enchanted forest - wallpaper - Exchange Services - exchange email - Facebook - APP - Gmail - Google Search - APP (Google Now) - Google lyrics extension - Google+ - APP - Japanese keyboard layout - Live Wallpaper Picker - Magic Smoke Wallpapers - wallpaper - Maps - APP - Market Feedback Agent - MirrorLink Service - MirrorLink System - MirrorLink Settings - Movie Studio - APP - Movies - APP - Music Visualization Wallpapers - MusicFX - News & Weather - APP - Notes 2.0.A.0.5 - notes widget - Notes 10.1.A.1.4 - APP - Notes 10.1.A.0.6 - notes small app - Phase Beam - Picasa Uploader - Pico TTS - Quartz - system theme - Recorder - APP - Sapphire - system theme - Silk - system theme - Street View - app - TV Launcher - Talkback - Update Centre - Update service - Visualiser - Walkman function - Voice Dialer - VpnDialogs - WALKMAN 2.0.A.0.26 - Walkman widget - WALKMAN 6.0.A.1.0 - APP - WapPush - Weather widget - weather widget - Wikipedia extension - Woody - XPERIA - system theme - YouTube - APP - YouTube extension - YouTube karaoke extension - com.android.email.res.overlay - com.android.wallpaper.holospiral - com.google.android.voicesearch
There's a lot of things you can remove but some of them are also essential services. Do consider your personal usage before removing them. For example, if you have decided that Nova Launcher is the launcher you will use, you can delete off Sony's default launcher (although I won't). If you are using other player apps such as Poweramp, you can delete of Walkman. However, do note that if you delete Walkman, you lose the sound picker function for setting your phone ringtone. If you want custom ringtones you will need to manually add the .OGG sound files into system/media/audio/ringtones or system/media/audio/notification Of course, other examples would be like if you use google contact and calendar sync etc, you should not delete off the respective sync apks.
[GUIDE] Apps that are safe to remove [ZU][STOCK ROM]
This is a list of apps that are safe to remove from the stock Sony ROM. This is done at your own risk, so don't come back crying if you've deleted something that you shouldn't have. IF you screw it up, flash the stock ROM again, so it's not the end of the world, but read that fancy red text again. shawntim said: how much space does one reclaim by removing all these apps? Click to expand... Click to collapse Wrong question. You'd better ask "how much RAM and battery will I save freezing (or deleting) them". Answer: Even more. Getting all that social Face* cancer and Google trash out is giving me > 1GB of free RAM at all times. Amazing. noses.
What about poboxsknmono and poboxsknselector I try removed them, nothing weird happens

Click to collapse I don't know what that is, but if nothing weird is happening after you've removed it, I guess you're safe Do a reboot after deleting it though to see if you get an error. If not, you're safe. Sent from my Z Ultra, using XDA Premium 4
