Re: Case corner and sound.
The top left corner has slightly lifted allowing when phoned squezzed from side edges towards each other the sound goes, if I hold the corner that's slightly dislodged the issue doesn't persist have searched but not found a strip video "no pun on words" any ideas as I'm thinking remove front panel bossing clamping.
Any ideas as no warranty.

Hi,
I chipped my outer casing on my phone and now want to do a shell swap.
I've looked up guides on dissembling the phone such as: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1577554
but they involve taking out the camera, various boards and circuitry.
I'm wondering if it is possible to lift out the majority of the internals and screen and transfer it to a new case, digitizer and all.
Any help or input would be appreciated
Thanks.

what is lt26? if sola, you only need to remove 2 screws to pop off the bottom chin
Sony Xperia S is the LT26i. And I wanted to know if I could lift out all the internals. Not just the bottom

Hey guys,
I just noticed this in my pictures yesterday. There is a purple line and what could be the edge of the camera lens showing up in the left corner of my pics. I haven't dropped the phone so I don't know why this issue has shown up recently. My note is about two months old give or take a week. I called customer service and they want me to factory reset my phone. I don't see how that will fix a possible hardware issue. So I have not done this yet. Any ideas or suggestions??
Thanks

First off welcome to XDA! It looks like a scratch to me where is it with landscape and portrait photos
That thought did cross my mind with the purple line. But what do you think the black line underneath the purple line could be??
The lines stay in the left corner in both portrait and landscape modes.
Thanks

Looks to me a small micro crack...can you shine a light on lens and see if its cracked? I had this issue on one of my old phones.
The lines would move to another corner in landscape mode versus portrait mode if it were something physically on the lens or the lens itself.
If they stay in the same corner, it's likely software. Try another camera app to test it.

I assume you do NOT have a case on the phone?
Is there a tiny piece of lint in there somewhere?
That's got to be annoying

I always use a case and screen protector, from day one. I hate "naked" phones.
Melcali- I don't see any lint.

And you've taken the case off and tried pictures? Just to make sure it's not the case?

That was the first thing I tried after noticing the problem. I physically don't see anything on the lens and I don't have a magnifying glass. I'm wondering if dirt has gotten behind the glass and lens. I usually store the phone in my back pocket when I'm not holding. Do you think a hard reset would work as customer support suggested?
Thanks

If the mark stays in the bottom left corner no matter which way you turn the phone, then yes, a software reset might help.
Is the line in the preview as well, or does it only appear after you take the image?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
It's in the preview too.
Update: the factory reset did not remove the line.

So call Samsung and get a new one.

I didn't know that I could call them and bypass at&t.

So all other camera apps..show this mark on bottom left corner?..If you've attempted to instal a few different camera apps and they all do it on that corner..its most likely a scratch or dirt mark behind the actual lens itself...I don't think it has anything to do with software related.... trying different camera apps kida debunks that....but I could be wrong I've seen sone pretty weird stuff go on with phones..lol
I tried two different apps so far.

After using my phone for a while today, a yellow spot appeared in the lower left corner. It isn't part of the normal screen, and appears over any whitish colors. It looks like a cigarette smoke stain almost. It won't go away, and is very noticeable over white, though it's invisible over dark colors. Does that sound like a damaged screen?
Sent from my LG-E970 using xda app-developers app
How long ago did you get the phone? I recall someone talking about something similar with the nexus 4, where it was the glue holding the screen on was not fully cured, causing it to have yellow spots.
Edit: Here is the thread I saw it on: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1990276 Does it look like that?
Sent from my LG-E970 using xda app-developers app
Somewhat, but lighter in a different location. Probably the same thing. I've had it since November 20 or so. Crap. First my casing split and now this... for such a well built phone it sure has a lot of issues with build....

I also have the blue tint at the top of the screen one of the links posted talked about. Well fantastic. The best phone ever has paper skin and glass bones.

So recently I noticed my screen has a blue spot when displaying white. It's slightly notice to be annoying. It's not visible with blacks and less so with other colors. What to do with warranty as a last resort? Will warranty claim actually fix the phone instead of replacing it?
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
Is a case applying pressure to the back of the phone. That's usually where the blue dot comes from. Something is applying pressure to the screen.

A textbook case of phone squeezing while watching pron on the dna's fabulous HD.
Is blue just in one spot on the screen?

Its an isolated spot at the top of the keyboard it is about 2-3 mm wide. I will try taking it out of the case and see if it goes away.
Sometimes cases can put pressure on the screen and cause blue dots to appear.

I took it out of the case for at least 14 hours and nothing changed. I am okay with it as long as it doesnt spread. Really don't want to warranty it and get a locked DNA after running CM
I would kee it too, having a locked bootloader will be more irritating.
I've got a faint blue dot also and no case.

It happens to a lot of DNAs.. Idk something about internals pressing against screen.

yep, if you push on the back between the htc logo and the other logos, you can see the ripple effect. there's a soft spot on there.
my first DNA had the issue, and i only used a TPU case. i'm thinking it was from having it in my pocket, screen facing out and crouching and sitting down and stuff. it would probably put pressure against the back and cause that ripple and that eventually led to a constant blue haze. i returned it right after noticing it..was very sad. lol
So this is a common issue then? I just noticed it on mine today. Will they fix it under warranty? I've only had the phone for about 2 weeks.

Did you guys with the blue dot send the phone out to get Jtagged?
If so, the blue dot is an overtightened screw (Did it to mine when I JTagged it... Pop the back off and loosen the screw a little bit... It might not ever go away, but it lessens he effect... Also lessens the possibility of the screen cracking from it)
i notice on my s3 and my friend s3.....that we both have something like a line/fisure/split under volume button on the phone frame...but the phone was not dropped or soething like that...first time that i saw it i thought that was from factory....is that true? or WTF
Weird.. mine has a hairline crack right there too. But my girls doesn't. I'm guessing it's a factory defect. Must be a weak spot.

The bezel is well known for cracking, and also for the moulding marks that show on the corners
