Try going into settings > manage applications > click playstore under 'all' > clear data > reboot
Itll strip all updates and put it back to market before again making you update it to play store. Then you should be good to go.
Nope tryed that. And i made a new gmail account thinking it was tied to the account with no luck. In the last 4 days i have soft wiped about 6 times.

Hello guys,
I am having a bit of problems with my atrix. I recently rooted my phone using superoneclik. As i was exploring some apps, I came across titanium backup. I went ahead and was trying to delete the bloatware that bell had put in my phone.. But the phone just gave me some application error.
Now, the problem I am facing is I cant get past the error message. There is an option to force close but it doesnt help. I cant pull up any menus or anything so there's no question about going to settings menu and doing a reset. I also tried the hard reset using fastboot.. tried to restore.. but nothing seems to happen. Also, I cant install new rom as i dont have CWM..
please advise.. I am with Bell Canada if that makes any difference.
thanks
j
II have the same problem. Did you get anywhere with your atrix?

You must have deleted an application that is necessary for the Os to operate.I faced this situation when i deleted some system apps using rom toolbox and the only way to recover i found was to flash the rom again but i had a unlocked bootloader and i easily reflashed the rom using CWM recovery. In your situation i think u will have to reflash the sbf using RSD.
90% it's a problem in a new version of Google Search. Try to downgrade it.
Started to have this problem and my phone is unrooted, and stock. I downgraded google search app and have not had the problem since.

Hello,
Every time I try to open my Market I get the following. "Your client is out-of-date. It will be automatically updated shortly". I waited for about 3 hours and still the same issue. I have done a factory reset using recovery and still the same issue! Is anyone having this issue?
Thanks!!!

Thanks for the reply ATT Intruder! Unfortunately I have already tried that and I am still having the issue. I guess I should have noted that on my original post. This issue is quite annoying!
Download the newest market apk from the net. Google for market 3.4.4 apk and enable untrusted items in settings/applications and install it.
Or update your AT&T device with latest ruu and try.
Hope it helps.

Hey Feherhollo,
Thanks for the tip. I tried to downloaded the 3.4.4 apk file but it kept crashing my device even after I cleared data and cache. I ended up having to restore from a cwm recovery backup I did couple of days ago and the martket works.
Cheers!

you cannot even search
Hello.
My friend has an i9300 with stock 4.1.2 firmware.
Today he told me his Play store didn't work. When he tried to download an app, after he pushed on the download button, the play store app just restarted itself and went back to the main screen, so it was not possible to download anything.
I went into the app info of the play store, and deleted all data and cache data, without success. The version was 3.10.10 and there was an "uninstall updates" option, so I thought it might be some broken update that caused the problem, so I tried to uninstall updates. Then the version went back to 3.9.16, and since then the app won't even start (crash to home screen).
Is there any way to reinstall the play store? or do I need to flash a new ROM?
Since I am a total noob when it comes to that particular device, please bear with me. Thanks.

hi, by stock I meant the original firmware that came with the phone, it is not rooted. Is it possible to do the same with the original samsung firmware? and if it is, will I need to root and install recovery?
No...you dont need to root or install recovery to flash the stock rom over the current rom

Hi,
I tried to install vlingo again on my phone but I get a message saying:
" Thank you for your interest in Vlingo. We detected that you are running a version of Android 1.x on your device.
Unfortunately, Vlingo for Android is currently only available for Android phones with OS 2.0 or above"
????????????
I had it installed before so I don't know what's going on. It works if I restore it from Titanium backup, but I wonder if this also has anything to do with my unresolved black screen issue (or the other way around).
I even tried removing my google account but I get the same msg.
Any ideas????
Thanks,

Done that before, but didn't change anything.
Just in case I did it again but it still gives me that message.
I think we might be onto something here that might solve my other problem (if we can solve this one first...)
just for kicks what rom and version of android are you running on your phone?

The one in the sig. NRG Blue+tweaks Aug 6th
I wonder if I screwed something up during my various flashes back and forth to stock and this...
As a noob the only thing I can think of is doing it all again and trying Vlingo between each step to see where the problem is.
That is unless there is a more efficient way to test the whole system.
Would any info I can pull out of the hone help????
Thanks,
Just another noob question....
When I go back to stock RUU, do I need to go all the way to GB or ICS is enough?
going back to ics is enough, when you you go to about phone to check the android version what does it say?

Could this be just a Vlingo glitch?
maybe.. and has it worked on a different rom? maybe its an issue with the rom your using also...
I don't think so because I had it on it before...
I'll go back to stock ruu and try it there
it installed it on this one before. Funny thing is it works if I restore it from a backup.
Anyway I went back to stock and I get the same msg there so it must be the app.
Bummer I thought there was something I could check on the phone itself...
I'll start from the start and keep it brief. I have an old Sony Xperia X8 E15i and recently I decided to root the phone with SuperOneClick. The rooting was sucessfull and I decided to install a few apps that take the privelage of a rooted phone. I first got Root App Delete and I uninstalled apps that came with the phone (system apps) including the android browser, facebook and some other useless apps like foursquare. The phone was running fine for a long time I used Opera as my default browser since I uninstalled the original one.
After this I got an SD card for the phone and it was compatible and everything was still running smooth but then I went on SuperUser and saw a notification about an update for the su binary. I tried to update it, it failed on the last few steps a couple of times but after retrying it eventually worked. After this I tried to go on the Android Market and it said the Market process has closed unexpectadely. I tried rebooting the phone, clearing the cache of the market and eventually gave up.
So I decided to uninstall the market application in the hope that I could try and find a different apk for it which I could reinstall. I managed to uninstall the market however when I tried to reinstall it using an apk I downloaded it failed. Then I figured if I factory reset the phone the market application would be working and back again. But when the reset was done the phone came back with no Browser, no Market and no way of syncing with my google account or downloading any apps to browse the internet with. I tried installing apps through my laptop on Google Play but like I said as there was no way of syncing with my account it could not be done. Then the only thing I could think of was to try and flash the ROM but when I tried to root the phone it kept on failing.
I just want to know what I should do to either get all the original apps of my phone back or how to get a new rom that I can install onto the phone. If you need details on why it fails to root I could screenshot or give you a copy paste. I greatly appreciate any help.
Thank you in advance.
Can someone please check this out. Like I said just ask if you need more information.
bump,...
