Hello guyss, Can anyone tell me how to flash a Modem in Galaxy S2 through CMW or ODIN. And which file is the Modem file in the .tar/.zip folder... And If I flash a modem of different firmware so will it cause any problem....

this thread contains a list of modems.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1131950
You use odin but instead of PDA, you will use the phone button.
You can use different modems on different roms according the region you live in.
Only problem will be no or poor reception, if you chose the wrong modem.. To fix simply flash another modem.
Flash through CWM if in .zip format.

I want to install a new modem, but I'm going to be running an older kernel than the modem. Will this combo work fine?
I run the opposite. I match my modem to the carriers firmware, and flash back modem after the ROM and kernel. No problems with speed or connectivity. You can only try....

Yes but sometimes Modem must be compatible with the Android build...
try
so you can try and if the new modem isnt work on older rom then reflash old modem too
Yep, pretty simple really. Extract modem from Intratech firmware thread and flash with Odin, our search for some of the CWM flashable modems. Try and test......

yes, same as mine from samsung OTA
are there separate modem downloads for the S3? I can't seem to find a link similar to the S2 thread before.
I'm currently using ultima rom v16. When using mobile data I used to (on 4.1.2) get H+ signal. Now on 4.3 I only have H.
I've tried different kernels and also tried changing the modem to the same one I used on 4.1.2 (MG4) to no avail.
I'm just wondering if it's a 4.3 issue or rom issue. Also if anybody has any ideas of other steps I can take to get this sorted.

Wipe and flash full stock rom with odin, use the stock rom for your country including latest modem.
Test before you restore/install any apps or mods.

I'm using ULTIMAs ROM. It's that ROM issue. Every other 4.3 I have tried worked normally with H+.
No signal and service... For everyone who has no signal try flashing this via Cwm only for Android 4.3 GT I9300 http://www.mediafire.com/?jlk7yzrdd7bg3ks
This is the MK6 modem... Good luck ????

Hi,
I would advise before anyone downloads and flashes XXUGMK6 modem that they check here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/ what was their original modem. For instance in my country 2 out of 3 operators are using XXUGMK6 but my operator is using BUUGMK1 modem. It seems to be working better for me.
