Hallo,
i am starting this thread, because I couldn't find any solution in the Rom-development thread about this topic.
I am from Germany, and so are my country settings on every ICS-Rom (4.0.3 and 4.0.4) i used.
There is one poblem/bug with the stock dialer (on every custom rom, i have had before).
Every time I type a number, there is a slash(marked blue) coming up (as a phone number is seperated in german numbers).
If the slash comes up, and I press the "arrow down" button (marked red) the phone freezes and after a while it says: "Kontakte angehalten" ("Contacts stopped").
It is not rom/contacts related, as i am having this issue on every ICS rom. Also a friend of mine has a stock 4.0.3 and is having this issue.
Is there any solution/mod for this other than using another dialer? Would it be possible to port a s3 dialer / s3 contacts to xwlpt rom?
Thanks for helping!
I have exactly the same problem and the only solution that I found is to download another dialer from market like dialer one or something else.
Iwonder why samsung isn't doing anything about that bug, because it seems to bee on every android 4 rom.

Maybe this bug is only when you use German language.Did you try it with another language?

I have the same problem and I have English US language selected as the phone language. Any solution???
You could try a different kernel.
Sent from my Galaxy S2 GT i9100
Hmmm which one do you suggest? Currently I have SiyahKernel v4.0.1. And why do you think that this is kernel related problem?
Problem fixed!
Finally Samsung fixed it! In the Firmware XWLPX, see: http://www.hotfile.com/dl/170725075/fd5169a/I9100XWLPX_I9100NEELP5_NEE.zip.html they fixed the slash problem. Happy with 4.0.4 now! Think it should be fixed on all XWLPX Roms.
Have a good time!
I installed WanamLight 12.5 based on XWLPX and that problem is fixed

Thx

Hey there!
First of i want to tell you that i don't know if this is the right section to post this in otherwise tell me please.
Okay so i am having a big problem with my connection, it drops at random and never reconnects till i reboot my device. I am having this problem since i changed my kernel and my rom to sensation rom. I had another kernel and lite 'ning rom before. Now im wondering what could be causing the connection loss. The kernel or the rom or could it be both?
I hope someone can help me with this cause it is rather annoying not recieving important calls.
Peace

Not if you read the rules .
Question = Q&A which is logical .
Stock rom and test is the only way .

What model is you phone (international, T, G etc)? I have an I9100t which has a different modem to the international version. When I flash a new rom I reflash a T version modem.

LP7 has a later build date than LPQ. At least, according to what is recorded in Intratech's official firmware thread. So unless that is wrong.....
Cite your source, please.
Lp7 is official firmware

I have only upgraded my current Android from 4.0.3 to 4.0.4 have not done factory reset/wipe data.
Use stock kernel, don't use a custom kernel yet on stock ics 4.0.4.
Edit: Bdw, you should've posted in the Q and A section.

Just flash it again and don't flash another kernel. Use the one which came with the rom.

You're wrong. Stock kernel causes problems in lekaed software (LQ5, LPM) and also brings eMMC hardbrick bug.
Get back to 4.0.3 and wait for official 4.0.4.

You're right and wrong. You're right that it causes brick bug and you're wrong because in stock kernel, camera, video etc works perfectly. If you flash the current custom kernels now it causes the blank camera, videos won't show etc.

Right. I was just explaining it was caused by flashing a custom kernel not made specifically for 4.0.4 but for 4.0.3.

I have re-installed 4.0.3 and my device is working fine now.
Thanks everyone for your prompt help and support.
I got the same problem here. but I update from 4.0.3 to 4.0.4 via samsung kies officially. So, how am I going to downgrade it back to 4.0.3? please advice. I have tried wipe data/factory reset.
You have to re-install 4.0.3 there is no other option available, download Android 4.0.3 from http://samsung-updates.com/ and install it freshly. I did the same to get 4.0.3 back on my smartphone.
On the 4.0.4 flash latest siyah kernel

Hey guys n girls.
I've been experiencing a copy n paste bug on my device. It seems to have appeared after downloading an update of sorts after the main ICS update. I am running everything official. I am on 4.0.4 which is ICS I believe.
Has anyone else experienced such a problem and have you solved it?

Basically the process of copying/cutting text is fine. When I go to paste only a clipboard button appears. When I click the clipboard button nothing happens. It is extremely annoying

Ive searched the forums n it doesnt seem to be a common bug. My phone is 100% official. It has been a while back and i unrooted it so i could do the official ICS update. I wiped the cache and delvik cache and reset everything. This is the only problem i have. That and sometimes i get thin black lines on my screen everynow n then but they seem to disappear after locking the phone.

Sorry this particular issue is pretty unknown and most likely an issue with your particular firmware or maybe of the app you used, if the copy/paste bug appears in other apps also, then it's definitely a firmware problem, I myself have used ics stock and didn't have the mentioned problem as so do several others, I recommend you download an official firmware of your region and carrier(if any) and flash it via Odin, you don't need to worry about warranty as flashing stock won't trigger the flash counter, i recommend you follow a guide if confused as there are several available, or try custom firmwares to your tastes.

Thanks for your reply. Its a bug across everything. I use unbranded official firmware. Should I flash different firmware or the same? Attached is a screenshot of the About Phone menu if that helps.

Its upto you to decide, if you have warranty, installing the same firmware is recommended, because most probably the problem will be with your installation on the device, not on your regional version of the firmware, but if it happens again then it's a problem with the regional version. So if after flashing your regional version you have the problem repeating, installing an unbranded stock of other regions like UK or Australia or India will solve your problem.
Have you checked for eMMc superbrick bug for your phone, if you have an insane or unsafe chip, don't flash stock ICS 4.0.4 because it's stock kernel contains the code for eMMc Cap erase command which will brick your phone on any type of wipe, reset, erase command and after a flash you will usually have to perform a factory reset to avoid a boot loop. You will have to use a lower version like stock 4.0.3 or gingerbread. I repeat don't perform a factory reset until you check your phone for brick bug (there's an app available in play store).

There is no warrenty on the device so im not worried about it tbh. I've checked the chip using the "eMMc check" app on the app store and i have an insane chip. So the option is to flash 4.0.3 or earlier? Also would I have to factory reset / wipe data before flashing the old firmware?

Downgrading from 4.3
And for the wake problem it can be solved by installing a custom kernel.
Custom kernel like yank, litegx, boeflla, googy max cn solve ths problem..or the chinese kernel which was releasd after the first leaked firmwre...i m currently using that and no lags and great battery life
